All Group Check in w/o 10/17

I’ve combined all of the groups again-our BMB isn’t huge and I think we’ll be fine all together. If anyone disagrees let me know, I can edit the post.

  • @iiirene agree with combining groups! We’re so small it makes more sense. This late in the game I doubt we’ll get a ton of new members.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
    EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/5, 15+5
Baby is the size of: a very tiny human
    Team blue/pink/green: pink!
Upcoming Appointments: 16 week appt Thursday, first time I’m meeting my actual OBGYN! Which is pretty nuts. I saw an RN the last two times.
How are you feeling?: up and down. Actually had to take zofran this morning to make it to work. It’s getting old.
Rants/Raves: this weekend was basically wasted since it was awful and smoky outside. I felt like crap and it was downright unhealthy. Sucks, because it was likely the last warm weekend this side of winter. It’s supposed to start raining Friday and probably won’t stop until like May.
GTKY: What is your favorite/least favorite chore? I hate chores and cleaning. Loathe it. I guess my favorite is deep cleaning, which I admittedly don’t do too often but when I do it, I’m thorough. My H does most of the day to day stuff like dishes, laundry and vacuuming. I think vacuuming is my least favorite. He loves vacuuming but isn’t always as thorough as me, so that’s where my (very occasional) deep cleaning comes in. We’re a good match, chore-wise.

@nsk489 i am getting the headaches too.  It sucks!  I hope weather holds out for your anniversary!

@MsBeachNJ I missed that you are a 3rd time mom, too!  We are team green this time too.  I'm waiting on my nipt results and I can't believe how long it's taking.  Waiting is the worst.

@etnyah I'm sorry you felt like crap all weekend and couldn't get outside 😫.   Remind me where you are again with all the smoke?

@trubaby411 glad you are starting to feel better.  The tractor sounds adorable!  I'm sure you're godson is going to love it!

    @iiirene enjoy your fall break!!!
  • @scaredunprepared - nice to be on the same journey with you!! I got my NIPT results back this afternoon - thankfully all looks great!! Hoping the same for you!
    TTM - EDD 4/23 - Team Green <3
  • @MsBeachNJ yay!!!  Glad your results were all good!
  • @scaredunprepared I’m in WA, near Seattle (I work in the city). We always get wildfires here late summer/early fall but it’s usually over now! This year we’ve had zero rain since spring (absolutely insane) and high 70 to mid 80s temperatures until now (also insane), which is nice when you can be outside, not so nice when you step outside and immediately start coughing! Can’t believe I’m actually excited for it to rain non stop for a while.

    EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/11 14w6d

Baby is the size of: A maple leaf?

    Team blue/pink/green: It’s a girl

Upcoming Appointments: 10/24 for my 16 week appointment. I met with one provider for my 12 appointment and she was awful. I’m seriously hoping that this doctor will be better. I’m very petite and the first doctor harped on my weight and anxiety for the entire appointment. I left feeling completely beaten down. Would it be out of place for me to mention my previous experience when meeting with the new doctor? I’m so new to all of this, and I was naïve enough to think that I would love all of the providers at this practice. Not the case.

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling pretty good. I’ve had a few headaches, but nothing the really complain about.

Rants/Raves: Teaching has been really hard this year. I keep waiting for the sense of overwhelm to settle, but it just isn’t happening. I’m an English teacher, and I feel like I’m constantly buried in hole of papers to grade.

GTKY: What is your favorite/least favorite chore? I love tossing out clutter and organizing spaces. I can’t stand the time that it takes to fold clothes.
  • @v_flowers I would definitely bring up how the other doctor made you feel. Harping on someone’s weight is completely uncalled for, wether the weight is high or low.

    EDD/Weeks+Days: 13weeks5days due 4/19

Baby is the size of: a potsticker today

Team blue/pink/green: not sure yet, hoping to find out this week or next week with NIPT results!

Upcoming Appointments: heartbeat check next week

How are you feeling?: Overall pretty good! Still feeling bloated but other than that not too bad.

Rants/Raves: we took family photos/announcement photos this past weekend and I just have to rave about how great our photographer was with our son. It was chaotic and felt stressful for us but she was so calming & reassuring. Let’s just say my toddler was not having it after about 20 minutes 😂

GTKY: What is your favorite/least favorite chore? I loathe doing dishes. Would almost rather do every other chore except putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher
  • @etnyah I thought so too. I think I was too stunned in the moment to say anything. Thank you for the feedback!
  • FTM/STM/TTM+: first!

    EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/27, 12w4d

Baby is the size of: tennis ball?

Team blue/pink/green: we found out it’s a BOY!!

Upcoming Appointments: 10/27 - 14 weeks, I will also be seeing the MFM on 11/10 for a cervical length check. Has anyone else done this? I have a history of asherman’s syndrome, so they are being extra cautious.

How are you feeling?: less bloated, finally! Trouble sleeping and backaches now

Rants/Raves: I am loving anything salty. If I could only eat chicken fingers and fries, I would be happy. I am usually such a sweet tooth and just have not craved it at all.

GTKY: What is your favorite/least favorite chore? I don’t mind vacuuming or dusting. I hate cleaning the bathroom and doing the dishes!
  • @enw1028, dishes are the worst!! I don’t mind putting things in or taking them out of the dishwasher, but actually washing pots & pans or things that don’t go in the dishwasher makes me crazy!

@etnyah wow that's scary.  I'm glad rainy season is coming soon to cool it down and hopefully get those fires under control.

@v_flowers wow that's super rude of the first doctor!  I'm obese and very short, and literally none of my OBs have ever mentioned anything about my weight unless I brought it up!  Even last pregnancy when I had GD my doctor assured me it wasn't my fault when I brought up my weight.  I think it's ridiculous.  As long as baby is measuring on track and you are eating healthily, there is no reason to berate you.  And the anxiety thing,  I have it too, and have been on zoloft the last 2 pregnancies with no issue.  I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.   I would definitely bring it up with the doc you see next and request not to see that doc again!  As for chores, I also love organizing and tidying/putting things where they go/purging.
  • @gingerbunny23 wow good for you backpacking 22 miles!  Can you share pics of the views!?  We missed our October trip to NH this year because of my hospital stay and I'm sad we missed the foliage.
  • @scaredunprepared
Your anatomy scan is coming up so fast! I bet life has been a total whirlwind for you these past few weeks. Hopefully, you won’t have to wait much longer for your NIPT results!

@g@gingerbunny23 So jealous of your backpacking trip! That sounds amazing! We live in the foothills of the Appalachians, and I feel so guilty for not taking advantage of hiking this season.
  • @gingerbunny23 wow! 22 miles! Right now I’m winded going up the stairs! You’re amazing!
  • @v_flowers yes its so soon!  It's all happening so fast!  My NIPT results posted but I'm having trouble understanding what I'm looking at.  Results are so different than what I have seen in the past.  Waiting impatiently for the OB to call me back!
  • @scaredandexcited did your OB have you do an early glucose test? I’m overweight and had to do one already at 9 weeks and was annoyed mostly because I didn’t know it was happening and had a sugary drink directly before and failed, but they haven’t brought it up since

    EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/21. 13w+4
Baby is the size of: lemon
Team blue/pink/green: green. DH wants to find out at our next appt but I wanted a surprise
Upcoming Appointments: 10/20. Normal appt and going over NIPT
How are you feeling?: good! But lots of indigestion.  Goodbye tomato sauce anything
Rants/Raves: glad to not be sleeping all day long but not a fan of my daily 3AM insomnia
GTKY: What is your favorite/least favorite chore? Favorite chore - laundry. Least favorite - dishes...the smell makes me vom
  • @yelaklu13 yes I did do the early glucose screening, but only because I had GD last pregnancy, not because of my weight.  My first 2 pregnancies I didn't have to do the early test, just between 24-28 weeks.  I think they also take your hemoglobin A1C into account when considering to do the early glucose test.  That's part of the initial bloodwork they do as park of your first prenatal appointment.  If it's high, I think that's when they do the early screen.
  • @babybmom0421 welcome!  My hubby also wants to find out the sex at the anatomy scan and I am like DONT YOU DARE!!!!  He would never be able to keep that a secret for 20 weeks!  We already have a girl and a boy, and found out with both of them, so since we have all the stuff regardless of sex, I want to be surprised.   It's our last baby, so I definitely want to experience finding out in the delivery room.   Omg tomato sauce gives me SUCH bad heartburn!  So sad because pizza is life.  Sorry about the insomnia.  I would like to say I hope it gets better, but you already know how that goes lol

@gingerbunny23 yay thanks for sharing.  Gorgeous 😍

@firsttimema08 the dishes with a kid literally multiply overnight, I don't know how!  Just a heads up lol
  • @scaredunprepared They specifically said it was due to my BMI, I hadn’t had blood work done at that point. My first was about 9 years ago and was a lower bmi and I passed so I was just curious if this was the norm to have it so early and then not have it brought up again
  • @yelaklu13 i don't know about other's experiences, but that is not how things went for me.  I'm sorry.
