FTM/STM/TTM+: EDD/Weeks+Days: Baby is the size of: Team blue/pink/green: Upcoming Appointments: How are you feeling?: Rants/Raves: Questions: GTKY: What is your favorite fall activity?
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM EDD/Weeks+Days: 9 weeks 1 day - 4/23 Baby is the size of: Cherry Team blue/pink/green: Team green all the way! Upcoming Appointments: 9/27 at my OBGYN, 10/11 at the hospital for NIPT How are you feeling?: Tired, restless legs like whoah, digestive system completely out of whack Rants/Raves: Told my parents this weekend! Yay for not hiding it anymore. Rant: my eldest sister has apparently been suspecting I've been pregnant and telling all of my family members... nothing like stealing my thunder huh? Questions: None today GTKY: What is your favorite fall activity: I don't particularly love it for me, but my girls get so excited about pumpkin picking & going to the farm that I love their excitement. They also LOVE Halloween and have been planning our family costume for months
How are you feeling?: Sooo much better! But my symptoms subsiding always makes me wonder how baby is doing in there. I wish I had one of the those home dopplers since my next appointment is still so far out.
Rants/Raves: My son came down with a cough and fever yesterday so I’m home with him today. I love the cuddles but hate that my boy doesn’t feel well.
Questions: My husband and I have been talking about finances, daycare, and the possibility of me staying home full or part time with this baby. The cost of childcare is so out of control and my husband makes so much more money than I do, he thinks I could sell crafty things (I’m pretty decent at crochet) but I just don’t think that I could make enough money that way. Teaching part time is not really an option, I’ve looked into library jobs but the hours are really funky. Anyone go from working full time to cutting back to part time/fully staying at home? I just don’t know how it would work financially.
GTKY: What is your favorite fall activity? I love going to the pumpkin patch with my son. We go out to where my mom lives and they have some really adorable little family farms out there. When we lives on the east coast I loved the apple orchards but those are tricky to find and a long drive from here.
@MsBeachNJ yay for starting to tell your family! That’s frustrating about your gossipy sister though. Having brothers I can’t really relate, but the day after we told my grandma she went and told my aunts 🤦🏻♀️ she’s getting worse with gossiping as she gets older.
Team blue/pink/green: healthy and probably finding out
Upcoming Appointments: we meet with a new midwife on Thursday this week. Hoping for a better feeling than I got at the OB last week.
How are you feeling?: Slightly less nauseous, still pretty tired, and frustrated by my pregnancy brain. It doesn't go well with work.
Rants/Raves: I'm struggling with finding the energy to deal with the search for the right provider for this pregnancy. The ones that I have spoken with don't do telehealth appointments for the initial consult, so it feels like a major waste of time to go to appointments when I may not stay with the practice. Can we get with the times please??
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What is your favorite fall activity? Eating all the pumpkin stuff.
@iiirene I stopped working before we had our first child (kinda due to covid). We moved for my husband's job, I was planning on taking a couple months off of work to get our house all situated and bc I was burnt out from previous job...then COVID happened, any job that I would have gotten would have involved me working with kids either in a school setting or in their homes and I just wasn't comfortable with that. Then got pregnant and decided no point in finding a job then 🤪 For us, it made sense financially for me to not work. We had discussed this before moving (so when I still had a full time job) and since we didn't have family nearby to help with childcare (like all of our friends did) paying for full time childcare wouldn't have made sense bc 80%+ of my pay would have gone to that. I would try to start saving as much money as you possibly can now (perhaps try putting away most of your paycheck?) to see if you can live off of 1 income. Or maybe start trying your hand at selling some of your creations (etsy or facebook marketplace/local Facebook groups are a great place for that). I can't recall what age you work with, but maybe you could try tutoring or online teaching as a part time job?
How are you feeling?: I was thinking I wasn't going to have morning sickness the way I did with my first. Then today it hit me. I'm basically surving on toast because the vomiting has finally set in
Rants/Raves: i have to tell my business partners next week about the pregnancy. I'm sure they'll be happy but it's also going to bring a lot of added stress as we try to find help to cover for me while I'm out
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite fall activity? Fall is my absolute favorite season; I literally love everything about it. I hate being all hot and sweaty in the summer and comfy clothes like sweaters and leggings are my preferred attire so bring it on. I'm really excited to take my daughter to the pumpkin patch this year. Now that's she's 2 I feel like it's just going to be so much more fun for her. Also looking forward to some hot apple cider (none of that pumpkin spice stuff for me)!
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/9; 11w3d Baby is the size of: Lime Team blue/pink/green: finding out... Upcoming Appointments: Was supposed to be today....now moved to 9/30
How are you feeling?: Sick. I think I have COVID, and I'm trying really hard to rest and not stress more than necessary....
Rants/Raves: I just knew this would happen eventually, and I went and got a booster last week to try and protect myself (after getting it cleared with my OB). Sure enough....HCBM dropped of sick stepkiddos, who now all have COVID. Sigh. I know she's not worth the wasted energy, but I really wish she would just decide to be a decent human for a change.....
And....rant #2....I feel devastated that we have to delay pulling bloodwork for NIPS that much longer now. We were supposed to have that drawn today, and were planning to visit my family to (finally) share the news next week. Now....we can't safely do any of those things
GTKY: What is your favorite fall activity? All things pumpkin spice.....applied to apples Also, pumpkin picking and carving with the stepkiddos, camping for peak leaf peeping....comfy sweaters and leggings and all the clothes that won't make me feel more like an overstuffed sausage rn LOL
@gingerbunny23 ugh I'm sorry you're dealing with being sick and rescheduling testing/plans! I hope you feel better soon, and all is good with you and LO.
@gingerbunny23 solidarity! I also have Covid and have to call and reschedule NIPT (was supposed be this Friday). Super frustrating. Take care of yourself, pop Tylenol if you get a fever and get plenty of fluids! I kept throwing up all day yesterday so my OB got me zofran, it’s like night and day.

@trubaby411 - thank you for the kind words. I'm sure we will survive, and I'm 100% keeping fingers crossed the little blob is a-ok
@etnyah - I'm sorry to hear you're in the same boat, but at least we're in good company! Hopefully this will be short lived for both of us and have no repercussions for the little ones....
