Spotting before FET?

Hey everyone,

I'm freaking out over here. I started light spotting today. I'm starting to think I'm about to start my period. I'm on estrogen pills right now but they haven't started me on progesterone yet. My transfer day was suppose to be on the 31st but I'm guessing since me period is about to start it may be delayed.  I see the doctor on the 25th but has anyone experience spotting before FET?

Re: Spotting before FET?

  • Call your doc asap. They may be able to do blood work to check hormone levels to decide next steps. In either case, trust your doc but if you think things are not ideal, back off and wait for next cycle.
In any case, think of it like a small unexpected turn. Think of this delay as time to rejuvenate and prepare for next steps.

  • I spoke to my doctor and she didn't seem to concern. She said worst-case scernro it will be pushed back a week or two based on my uterine lining on Thursday .
  • Cool, glad to know. Yes they will check for lining. They may also check for hormone levels on same day.
Is this completely medicated cycle? Are they doing this with PIO?

  • It's with PIO, at least that was the plan. I guess I will see what happens Thursday.
  • @radiancety I’m glad your fertility doc is not too worried and that it won’t shift your plans too much. Overall, it sounds like good news and just a little scare and hiccup.
  • As soon as possible, call your doctor. To determine the next steps, they might be able to perform blood testing to examine hormone levels. In either scenario, believe your doctor, but if anything doesn't seem right, back off and wait until the following cycle. Consider this delay as a chance to rest and be ready for what comes next. I'm relieved that your fertility doctor isn't too concerned and that it won't significantly change your plans. In general, it seems like fantastic news with only a minor worry or setback.
  • I had my doctor's appointment today and she said everything looks great and my lining is already at 9mm. I transfer on 9/8. I start my progesterone shots on 9/3 and I'm super nervous.
  • @radiancety I’m excited for you! Sending you lots of baby dust your way! ✨❤️✨
  • My transfer is tomorrow and I'm super nervous. I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight.
  • @radiancety Wishing you a successful transfer and lots of baby dust! ✨ ✨✨Please keep us posted! ❤️
  • Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to give an update. Looks like so far so good.
    BETA 11dpt 235
    BETA 13dpt 502
My doctor said a third beta is not need since I am right on tract. I don't have my first ultrasound to 10/5. Seems like another 2 week wait and I am super anxious. Praying everything keeps going well.

  • That is great. Happy for you.
There will be several waits upcoming , the next two are the critical ones - confirm location and heartbeat.
Take one day at a time and live in the the present.
For now be thankful and prepare your body for the road ahead.

@radiancety I’m so excited for you!!! You are right on track! Trust that your body knows what it’s  doing and take good care of yourself. Any 1st trimester symptoms yet?
  • @ttc3y My symptoms are coming and going but mostly nausea, fatigue, and this metal taste in my mouth. Almost everything tastes disgusting right now.
  • @radiancety The first trimester definitely has its challenges. The weird one for me was feeling nauseated and hungry at the same time. Eating a little bit before the nausea gets too bad helps as well as trying your best to get protein in your diet. But I suffered from some major meat aversion for the first few weeks and would resort to beans. Most of the time, fruit and carbs were my primary source of nutrition during week 4-10. Embrace the symptoms, it’s validation that you are finally pregnant! 🥰
  • I've been reading through you thread and I didn't want to just read and run, so I just want to say congratulations on your transfer and let us hope for the best for you in this cycle!  Trusting your doctor really helps.
