Re: **TW** Spotting/Bleeding/Threatened MC Thread

  • @ipkorte I am so sorry I know how scary that can be, will the doctor take you in for another ultrasound?

  • @MsBeachNJ they just said to monitor which isn’t very reassuring. I might call again later and ask for an ultrasound I just don’t know what to do
  • @ipkorte I would call & advocate for yourself!

    +1
    big hugs to you @ipkorte
I do not want to scare you, but anecdotally, I had a SCH that resulted in bleeding and I lost my last pregnancy (MMC caught by the U/S).
On the flip side, again anecdotally, I also know people who had healthy pregnancies and babies despite having a SCH.
  • @ladyofarlington @MsBeachNJ thank you, I didn’t call today but have started spotting again. will likely call tomorrow.

additionally, I had SCH detected prior to last miscarriage as well so extra nervous about this. just don’t understand why OB wouldn’t have told me that they saw it, think I’ll be looking for a new doctor.
  • Ugh, I’m so sorry to hear that. Honestly, it was the first thing I asked after my U/S last week. A new Dr may be a good idea. Hugs.
  • Just had my first appointment last week and I had spotting off and on since then. It's been light, only a little pink when I wipe. I keep telling myself it's super common in the first trimester and the baby had a strong heartbeat when they checked but it still makes me nervous every time I go to the bathroom. I just wish I could fast forward to my dating ultrasound on the 10th. I just want to see everything is still going ok
  • @maggied26 did they do a transvaginal US? I had slight spotting on and off after mine and I’m pretty sure it’s just because the wand irritated my cervix, which is normal. I’m with you though, seeing any hint of blood even if you know everyone is likely fine is nerve wracking.

  • @etnyah Yes they did, that's what I keep telling myself lol. This is my second pregnancy and let me tell you the anxiety is not any better than it was with my first. Actually, it might be worse haha
  • @maggied26 FOR REAL with anxiety being worse the second time! Despite full-on bleeding on and off first tri last pregnancy, I’m still more anxious now. Everything worked out fine last time! The vast majority of pregnancies end with healthy babies! Buuuut still, it just feels different. Hoping the anxiety will ease after first tri.

  • Occasionally light pink when I wipe every so often— 6 weeks 2 days. I spotted occasionally with my first so trying not to worry too much.. anyone else have this?

I had a tiny bit of brown spotting yesterday, it was only once when I wiped and nothing afterwards. Then again this morning I had the same, but pink. No cramping or pain.

I’ve had brown spotting occasionally throughout the pregnancy, maybe once every other week or so, but the last time was the morning before my US which was great, so I wasn’t worried. The pink is new so now I’m stressing. Ugh I hate this. I’ll monitor and if I see anything else I’m calling my OB.

Edit/update: so far no more spotting, hours later! Not going to call, I think everything is fine.

  • Trying hard not to panic. I was just sitting at my desk working and all of a sudden I felt a gush so I went to the bathroom and had a lot of very dark red blood in my underwear. And a lot more when I wiped. I called my doctors office but waiting for a call back.
  • @maggied26 hope you have heard back from your drs office and everything is alright ❤
  • @maggied26 thinking about you, that is terrifying. I hope you can be seen soon and that everything is fine! How are you now? Any more bleeding? Are you cramping?

  • So far I basically have no more bleeding. I just had the big gush, then it lightened to spotting (all dark brown ) and now it's basically gone. I started having some twinges on the side where I have my cyst so now I'm just wondering if it's in my head or if I actually am feeling it lol. Fortunately my next appointment is on Wednesday, I'm glad I won't have to wait long for another check up
  • Just going to post in this thread under the TW. I'm sadly leaving the group, today's US still measured 6w2 and no heartbeat. They did one more blood test. My hormone levels have been normal and I've been really sick, so my body just isn't getting the message. Wishing you all the best!

  • @sambo0423 I'm so sorry to see this sad news. Sending you big hugs. 💛
  • Feeling super stressed out, I felt a gush of blood Sunday and the bleeding lasted on and off for about 4.5 hours.I had no pain or cramping during this time. I went to the ER by my doctors recommendation since it was after hours, and then 10 minutes after getting home it stopped completely. The ER doctor diagnosed it as a threatened miscarriage, and I spoke with my OB who reviewed the ER doctors notes and the visit summary and they aren’t super concerned. I have an appointment tomorrow and they felt comfortable with just waiting until then but it hasn’t stopped me from just feeling stressed and nervous for what tomorrow’s ultrasound is going to say.
  • @Sambo1117 so sorry to here that. :( take care of yourself.

@aimeeps1212 I totally understand how you feel and it's so hard not to stress. With my first I was 11 weeks and had a gush if blood and it lasted a few hours as well. Of course it was a weekend so I had to wait until the following Monday to see my ob before finding out everything was OK. Then just a couple of weeks ago I had the same thing happened  with the baby. My doctor basically just said sometimes this happens and as long as I'm not having pain they aren't super concerned and basically just said to let them know if the blood ever became bright red or if I have pain. I've basically had spotting off and on since then. Try not to stress too much and just take it easy until your ultrasound
  • Well, I just had a gush of bright red blood. I ran to the bathroom after I felt something wet, and saw the blood in the toilet. But then I wiped and it was pink and quickly went away. No cramping so far. My midwife is closed on Fridays. Should I call tomorrow and talk to the on-call person? I don't know what to do.
  • @shoogapoff bleeding can be really scary (but also normal in the first tri, and not always indicative of a miscarriage). If it's not associated with any pain, it's probably normal, but you also need to do whatever feels right for you. If that's calling your midwifery practice and speaking with the oncall person, do it. I hope everything turns out ok!
  • @shoogapoff I would second what @trubaby411 said: what would give you the most peace of mind?

  • @trubaby411 @acleverusername Thank you. :) I did call the midwife and she said not to worry unless I had cramping and more bright red blood. I know it's common, but nothing like this happened with my first pregnancy, so it freaked me out. Plus, TW I just saw an acquaintance of mine post on FB that she miscarried yesterday, so it was already on my mind.
  • @shoogapoff I'm so sorry for that stress. Glad your midwife wasn't concerned! Hang in there <3
    TTM - EDD 4/23 - Team Green <3
  • @shoogapoff I'm glad to hear that it sounds like everything is ok. 💛

  • @shoogapoff just to give you some reference, I had bleeding (lots of bright red, lots of clumps) that was very period-like for weeks 8-12 of my first pregnancy (no subchorionic hematoma) and weeks 8-18 of my second pregnancy (with subchorionic hematoma).  Every pregnancy is so so so different!  I think the fact that your midwife isn't concerned is a great sign.
