Ok y'all I have a weird question. I started getting a yeast infection right after O from all the HIO, but I was doing progesterone suppositories at night so I didn't want to do a YI suppository also since I didn't really know if it was OK. Now my period is here and I cannot wear a tampon since it hurts. Is YI suppository OK to use while on your period? Would it have been ok to use progesterone at the same time as a YI supp? which one would you put in first? lol chicken or the egg kinda question

@bearmomma1 I honestly don't know if you should be using them with progesterone, but I would think not with your period since it will flush out with the flow anyways? Perhaps call the clinic and get an oral remedy instead. Also, I have found over the years that a strong greek yogurt and cranberry juice helps curb that kind of imbalance for me. Good luck!

I feel like last month all I did was complain about how my cycle got disrupted by being sick

Are anyone else's cycles sensitive to illness/immune response? I had COVID in February but it was very mild, probably because my booster had taken full effect the day I was exposed. But that cycle ended up being 7 days longer than normal. Last cycle I had food poisoning during my period then a cold the week after, and I'm pretty sure I did not ovulate.

@hestia-is-wearie my cycles are very sensitive to things like that too. I had Covid a few weeks ago and my period was almost 3 weeks long (while on BCP too!) so as much as my RE said it was breakthrough bleeding, I fully believe being sick had something to do with it too. Our bodies go through a lot, so there's no doubt that it will sometimes direct more energy towards the immune system and away from our reproductive systems when it's warranted. Sucks when we're TTC, but then maybe it's a natural evolutionary necessity because it probably wouldn't be a good time to get KU anyway.

So hey does anyone want to interpret my chart? (in my siggy). Cause let me tell you FF, it makes no sense. There's no way I ovulated on Jul 8 because my first positive OPK wasn't until afternoon of Jul 9 (and I had been testing 2x a day for 6 days beforehand). And then I also had EWCM on Sun, Mon, and Tue. So yeah, go figure that one out.

@hestia-is-wearie I haven’t noticed my cycles being impacted by sickness necessarily, but I definitely know that they’re thrown out of whack by stress. Crazy how all of that is interconnected!

Also, I posted this on the TWW, but figured it might be better suited here. Has anyone ever tried myo-inositol as a supplement for regulating irregular cycles/ovulation? I asked my ob/gyn about it. She said it was safe to take and I can certainly try it if I want to. Curious if anyone has had success with it in the past (particularly those with PCOS) or knows of anyone who has.

@liberator0423 I take myo-inositol for egg quality (it's a magic powder really) but I know many many people take it for cycle regulation. As to whether or not it's effective, I cannot say since it sounds like Metformin is typically prescribed to help regulate cycles. Maybe @kiki047 and our grad @fantasyflyte can comment further. I also believe that Fantasyflyte used cinnamon for cycle regulation.

@acleverusername you know me but i always trust my OPKs over BBT. the likelihood that your CD 19 or 20 were just a bit off for some reason is pretty high. but since you've been testing religiously it's not like you missed an early surge. i'm gonna guess you ovulated either late on cd 19 (so a quick surge), or sometime cd 20

@liberator0423 clever is right, I started taking Ovasitol (combo of myo- and d-chiro inositol in a 40:1 ratio) over 4 years ago once I suspected I had PCOS. I absolutely credit it to helping* regulate my cycles, it also helped me curb some of the other symptoms of PCOS like blood sugar balance (which in turn helped my energy levels), sleep regulation, carb/sugar cravings, etc. It certainly wouldn't hurt, even for people who don't have PCOS, like @acleverusername said it is also good for egg quality and is naturally occurring in the body so it won't do you any harm. I think the recommended dose is 2000mg twice a day, which can be difficult to find in pill form (most of the ones I've seen are only 500mg pills so it's like 8/day), I've only ever taken Ovasitol which is in powder form but it is tasteless and dissolves easily in warm water so I like it. It's pricey, but one tub is also a 90 day supply whereas a lot of others are less money but only 30-60 day supply so if you do the math, it's actually not bad.

*I do think that the Ovasitol, along with some other homeopathic remedies prescribed by my naturopath (Vitex, seed cycling, etc) and regular acupuncture helped regulate my cycles in the sense that I wasn't ovulating regularly before that, if at all, but I do think that it was the Metformin that really regulated my cycles to get me back to a "typical" 29-32 day cycle in the end. I've continued to take both to this day.

@kiki047 Nope, nada. I'm on my laptop and can't see anything. Back in 2018 when I started on this website *sits back comfortably in rocking chair* I remember being able to see them. Not sure why I can't now, but I'm kind of glad that I'm not the only one. Sorry, @ReadyForaB !

@liberator0423 like @acleverusername I didn't use myo-inositol, but I started taking cinnamon supplements in December 2020. My OB wanted me to drink cinnamon/ginger tea but I couldn't stomach it so I took cinnamon supplements instead. My cycle started gradually getting shorter over the next 6 months, and then in June 2021 my doctor prescribed metformin and it was amazing for regulating me. I ovulated exactly on CD20 every month until I started letrozole at the end of 2021.

I have a techy question too! Is there a reason I can't see beyond page 1 of the TTGP board? All the other boards have a place at the bottom where I can navigate to previous pages, but TTGP doesn't show this for me.

@hestia-is-wearie i've been wondering this for several weeks now. our board used to have a way of easily navigating to older conversations but now we exist suspended in a void that is our present. unless you want to try to use TB's search function *shudder* there is no way to refer back to the archive.
