Re: What my pregnant self is eating - July

  • We went to the local carnival this past weekend and I DEVOURED a thing of fried dough. It was heavenly and I need to find a new local carnival or fair so that I can get more lol.

  • hi!!! i’ve been loving everything fruit and smoothies!! super strong cravings for carbs too, can’t get enough of my morning bagels ahah!
  • kb1322kb1322 member
I loveeee any types of berries, and have come to learn that I can no longer tolerate the smell of eggs 🤢😂
  • Ice cream every day
  • I lost my sweet tooth 🥹🥹 now it’s anything savory and/or spicy all day everyday.
  • Hi! I am loving anything with starches and fresh fruit!
  • Air pooped pop corn drizzled with butter, sprinkled with nutritional yeast, salt and dill weed
  • Oddly, me and my toddler are sharing a lot of food choices now. I’ve been enjoying sourdough toast with butter and a little salt with her, along with grapes and watermelon 😂
  • Soup....the only thing I can keep down is soup.

We were walking around in Chatan, Okinawa and what I really wanted was one of these insane cotton candy creations that are twice the size of my head, but I decided that throwing up sugary vomit would probably suck. So I refrained 😭 and I am very sad about it.

yes...those are made out of just cotton candy...and that is an adult man holding them!
  • It’s so cliche - but pickles! 🙈

  • OMG. I love pickles, too!! @runningyogimama Have you ever seen I Love Lucy when she’s pregnant and eating pickles dipped in ice cream? Sounds pretty good right now, lol
  • With all my pregnancies, I need a glass of lemonade the minute I wake up!

this weekend I was so bad. DH and DS were away so DD and I got take out 2 out of 3 nights, AND I ordered crumbl cookies for a treat 😋
  • I had my first real craving - banana bread! I was going to make just zucchini bread, but suddenly NEEDED banana bread. So I used the rest of the bananas, and have also ate half the loaf even though my kids also love it. 😅 I’m going to have to go to the store for more bananas to make more….

  • @runningyogimama that sounds soooo good
  • @runningyogimama that is so funny, last night I told my husband that I was craving banana pudding and then today it was banana bread too!
  • @seeds_of_joy It was so good. I need to make more!

  • @runningyogimama now I want a corn dog wrapped in banana bread instead of the normal corn bread.  🤣 I normally don't ever eat hotdogs.
  • ...dipped in maple syrup...

Cheese! The last couple days all I can think about is Babybel cheese. My earliest cravings were for tomatoes and tomato based foods, followed by lemonade, pickles, pasta, hummus, and ketchup chips. 🇨🇦

Most food sounds like garbage to me right now but boy do I love me a bowl of Cheerios. It’s truly the perfect food at this stage of pregnancy.
  • I’ve started eating dill pickle spears! They’ve actually helped my stomach a little bit, too. My stomach is so up and down right now. I’m looking forward to making it out of this phase 🤢
  • I tried my second attempt at air fried pickles and they came out so much better this time! I was pretty proud of myself, not going to lie.

  • @tessiesmom26 Ooh, what’s that like?? Do you dip in something? Yummy 🤤
  • kb1322kb1322 member
@cpk3535 dip them in a Combo of 1/2 Buffalo sauce & 1/2 ranch and you’ll never look back!
  • WATERMELON
  • @cpk3535 I didn't dip these ones in anything, but my usual go to is Ranch. I just haven't been feeling dairy or milk based things lately. All I did was take pickle chip rounds, pat them dry, dip in flour, then milk (we didn't have eggs) and then into a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, parm cheese, Italian seasoning, and paprika and air fried for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.

@kbz90 I'll have to try that next time!!

  • Definitely watermelon!!!!! Fruits and veggies, ranch for some reason is a heaven sent… usually I don’t care for ranch dressing that much. Oh and green olives!
  • codexcodex member
weirdly anything creamy. Like hummus on everything, chip dip, avocados.

And sushi! I made baked salmon rolls last week and doing veggie rolls this week. I can’t get enough.

That and plain cereal seem to be the only things that don’t trigger my nausea lately.

Had you told me I would be obsessed with pressed coconut water during this pregnancy, I  would have laughed. But here we are, 8 weeks and I can’t get enough VitaCoco Organic pressed coconut water. I could not stand coconut water prior to being pregnant. But for reasons unknown, it “sounded good” so I grabbed it while grocery shopping during week 5, and I now have to have it stocked up in my kitchen/fridge at all times.

Other than that, this pregnancy has me day dreaming and eating froyo with Reese’s and cooler ranch Doritos. Lol!

I never thought I would ever become a flexitarian but here I am in my pregnant state with a heightened sense of smell that has created an aversion to meat. Fruits and carbs seem to be my go to and will successfully cut through the nausea. I’ll eat some vegetables and limited amounts of meat. Im also finding that grazing through the day is better than having 3 big meals a day. Such a weird change for me because this is contrary to what I preferred in my pre-pregnancy state.
  • @ttc3y Me, too! Some days, meat sounds pretty good, other days it sounds really awful. The other night, I looked up best vegetarian sandwich recipes and found some great ones! Once it’s not 150 degrees outside, melts will be awesome!!
  • nwshaynwshay member
Last week I couldn't even look at meat, last night all I wanted were sloppy joes and Frito pies. Hahaha gross.

    Today nothing sounds good!
  • ttc3yttc3y member
It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one with a meat aversion.

@cpk3535 Ooo! Care to share a recipe or two for vegetarian sandwiches?

@kennaleebeesly Coconut water has a lot of potassium in it. Maybe your body needs more potassium right now. Plus, what a great way to stay hydrated!

Fruit, berries, pickles (how stereotypical!), olives and pancakes. I could live off of those at the moment.

Have a a stock of alcohol free sparkling wine and some alcohol free craft beer to bring to parties and stuff. I even frequently enjoyed this before I got pregnant. But now I absolutely cannot drink it. I thought I'd miss a drink but the mere sight or smell of wine or particularly beer makes me sick. How brilliant our bodies are like that - only I wish mine would allow me my alc free substitutes! I swiched to fruity mocktails instead.
Apart from that no food aversions as of yet.
  • ttc3yttc3y member
@justkp Fruity mocktails are so much fun! We went out with a couple a few weekends ago and I had a delicious citrus mocktail infused with basil. It was really good! I like letting the bartender be creative. One time I got a mocktail with a smoking cinnamon stick. That one was pretty cool!
  • justkpjustkp member
@ttc3y Ooh, I need to try my hand at letting the the bartender be creative with the drinks, that's a great suggestion - so far I have either managed to find one on the menu or made them myself. But your way sounds infinitely more fun! (And citrus and basil sounds gorgeous!)
  • I really hadn't been eating much until this week. Now I just want to eat ALL THE THINGS! But especially mozzarella sticks. Which is weird because I typically would NOT want those.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I've been craving grilled cheese on sour dough bread. I wish I craved more healthy things 😭

Motzerella sticks sound really good. 🤤
  • Idk that what Im having are cravings, but I do feel slightly obsessed with fruits and veggies. Particularly refreshing ones like watermelon and lettuce. But I’ve also always loved lettuce so its not like a complete switch? 🤷🏻‍♀️
