Hello, all!

Ages (you and SO): I am 40, DH is 41.

How many months have you been TTC?: We aren't "officially" TTC since I am 9 months PP and my body hasn't reset yet (although I *think* I am feeling signs that it is). I was on here from 2018-2020 but I am definitely a new face to most of you! While I wait for my cycle to return, I hope it's OK to hang around here. I think I can offer a lot of support in the IF/TTCAL threads. We TTC for 2.5 years before our third round of IVF worked. DS was our only surviving embryo, so I know we may be in for a long, tough road to baby #2.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: We will try OPKs and all that, but it's likely we will need medical intervention again.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) DH and I have been married for 13 years and welcomed our DS in September last year. He is the happiest, sweetest little guy! We have an almost 14 year old lab mix who has become a very grumpy old lady in the last year or two, but we love her. I love knitting, crochet, baking, theater, tea, wine, the Buffalo Bills (tough to do when you live in Patriots Country), and listening to true crime podcasts. DH and I are both teachers, although I decided to stay home with DS for a year rather than pursue a new job after my teaching position was cut last June. I love responding with GIFs, especially if/when trolls and drive-by posters appear.

How many months have you been TTC?: been trying since last June, and this month is attempt #8

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: two non-medicated IUI, and now six medicated IUI (clomid and menopur)

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)

I just moved down to the country in SWGA from Atlanta. My parents are about a quarter mile away; my dad has recently had a second occurrence of lung cancer after a really rough battle with chemo and radiation in 2020-2021. I am a trauma therapist but on sabbatical from seeing clients. I still manage my business in Atlanta where several other therapists work for me, but luckily it doesn’t require much time/energy from me because the situation/uncertainty with my dad and also my TTC is A LOT. Struggling some with spiritual questions, and quick weight gain from these meds! But I love being in the country, my hobbies right now are mostly picking blueberries, making blueberry recipes, kayaking, watching standup comedy, hanging out at my mom’s pool, and walks down the dirt road at sunset with my mom and aunt. Im also a singer/songwriter - had to leave my band in Atlanta - but im setting up a little home studio here, so im looking forward to that project’s steep learning curve. ☺️

@rockstarmomma152 we can chat about this more over in the IF thread or wherever, but just want to say, as one single woman TTC to another, welcome. also as a fellow person with a parent battling cancer while trying to do all this, eff that sh**. You're right, it is a LOT a LOT. I hope you're able to find some support and community here as I have.

@optimistgardener I'm sorry you are both dealing or have dealt recently with a parent who has cancer. I'm a radiation therapist and have been on both ends treating and having a parent go through treatment and know how difficult is it. Feel free to reach out if you ever need a listening ear.

also - is there a solo-specific TTC thread? There are things I’m grateful for that I don’t have to consider another person’s feelings and opinions in all of this, but there are obviously really hard things about doing it without a partner and a witness.

@rockstarmomma152 right now i think i'm the only other single person TTC active in this community, although we've had others come through during my time. i agree with you that there are some serious ups and downs to the going-it-alone process. like you, i am often grateful that i only have to deal with my own emotions as i try to make decisions and as i cope with disappointments, etc. on the other hand, sometimes it would really be nice to lean on someone during my weaker moments. in any case, despite there not being a dedicated thread for us singles, i've found the community to be welcoming (and the IF crew will confirm that i have occasionally entertained them with narrations of both official and unofficial channels i've followed in pursuit of sperm).

if you ever want to chat about specific-to-singleness "features" of the trying to get pregnant process, feel free to DM me anytime.

@emeraldduchess welcome back! I'm so happy you're jumping right back into this so soon. We kinda dropped having the "monthly signature gif" practice and I wouldn't mind bringing it back if you feel like it.
@rockstarmomma152 welcome! You'll find lots of support here as you continue to pursue the "Independent Mother" journey. I think @gingermama29 will also appreciate a fellow singer. Have you been watching any of the Netflix comedy specials that have recently come out?

@optimistgardener LOL - sperm pursuits. 🤣🤣 it is a shame how much it costs when there are so many “free” options.

@acleverusername - yes! I watch (or at least start to watch, some of them I don’t like and can’t finish) everything when it comes out! Still making my way through the bunch of them that Netflix released after their comedy festival. In 2021, I think I re-watched all of Nate Bargatze’s specials about 20 times each. It was a rough year!!

Ages (you and SO): I'm 32, DH is 33.

How many months have you been TTC?: Like @emeraldduchess, we haven't officially started yet, but we will be this month. I was also on this board in mid- to late 2018 (as hestia14) and I recognize a few of you already!

I'm excited to be back on TB because I had such a great BMB with my first and we are all still in touch today. And I'm excited to be TFAS!

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: charting, although I use Kindara and have been for years. Does anyone have any objections to me sharing my Kindara charts in the WTO threads? I know last time I was here, this board was very strict about using FF.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I had my DD in July 2019 (which means she's turning 3 next month :'( ) and she is awesome! I have a tiny but super fluffy black cat, a vegetable garden, and three large lavender bushes that are about to bloom and attract dozens of honeybees again. I work in eCommerce in the home improvement industry, which meant the pandemic was great for business, but now things have slowed down because everyone spent their stimulus money on home remodels and don't need anything else right now.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Tracking with Ovia, OPKs, just bought Pink Stork Fertility products

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Well, we have 4 fur babies and are trying for our first human baby. We both work full time and care for an elderly (and sometimes overwhelming) parent. DH makes soap and I'm an admin assistant for the local police.

Welcome @robotpopcan! My DH's aunt makes soap too and always comes up with amazing scents. I can't wait to use up the last of my body wash to completely switch to her soaps.

I'm spoiled with soaps in any scent I want, most recently he made me a goat milk and oat with pumice and rose oil! 10/10
