What number are you trying for? #4

Month/Cycle? 5/5 IDK IVF for us

WTO/TWW? IVF so, injection time

Ages of other child(ren)? 9, 7 and will be five in 2 weeks

Any thoughts about this cycle? FINALLY INJECTIONS FOR IVF! I feel like it has been so long to get to injections. We started injections on Saturday. We were at Great Wolf with the other kids and they were like freaking out about H giving me a shot. My son went and sat in the hall my daughters were asking all the questions. So far so good.

Rant/Rave? I wish I had more vacation time because let me tell you, I could have used an extra day to recover from Great Wolf and Mall of America. I am so freaking tired and AF is in full force.

GTKY: What summer activities did you enjoy as a kid that you hope your kiddos can do? Or what is an activity you wish you could have done that you hope you can do for your kiddo?

I went to a one week sleep away camp and I was looking at longer term sleep away camps for my kids to do when they are a little older. My middle daughter is so social and I think she would love to go to sleep away camp regularly.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Cautiously optimistic. Felt sick last night so no BD last night, but O is today so hoping I feel good tonight! I can feel that it’s a good fertile O, so I’m hopeful

Any questions? Taking DS on his first vacation this week. He has never slept in the same room as us, and I’m terrified that he won’t sleep while we are gone. Anyone have tips?

Rant/Rave? Getting a 2 year old to get a passport picture taken was not anything I ever want to repeat. Holy hell!

Going to cedar point with friends was a large part of my childhood. I really hope DS takes after me and enjoys that and travel… MH is such a bummer about all things fun 😂

Any thoughts about this cycle? Meh. I'm supposed to be out of town this weekend over prime HIO days, so I'm not too hopeful. We'll get in some timing before I leave and will have to hope that will be enough.

Rant/Rave? We were gone this past weekend and I'm leaving again on Thursday. I'm already tired and feeling rundown. Seriously hoping I'm not getting sick.

GTKY: What summer activities did you enjoy as a kid that you hope your kiddos can do? Or what is an activity you wish you could have done that you hope you can do for your kiddo? I just remember spending so much time outside (swimming, playing sports, playing at parks) and I hope my kiddo(s) enjoy that kind of summer too.

@ejoseph16 I think the hardest part of sharing a room is if he goes to bed much earlier than you. If you have a suite situation and can be out of the bedroom while he is falling asleep that might help. We definitely take a sound machine too so that we can't hear each other rustling around during the night.

@abjm0325 traveling a lot is so freaking exhausting. FX you aren't getting sick.

@ejoseph16 +1 to sharing a room is hard with a two year old. We rent suites because that way they can go to sleep before us. They are older now so it isn't as big of a deal.

@ejoseph16 we always pack a sound machine and all the normal blankets and stuffies my son sleeps with.

@abjm0325 that’s the same kind of summer I hope my son gets to experience too! I grew up in a small town and just want my son to have the same kind of worry free, slow, unbusy summers I had playing outside

we always spent a weekend out at my grandmas house in the country for vacation bible school. My husband and I aren’t really religious but I think we will still send our son to my moms for a week in the summer. She lives in the country and has a little barn, horses, pigs, a few dogs, and always some baby kitties. I love that he can have so much free time in nature there.

@iiirene we are definitely taking his normal sleeping things and treating it how we do it at home! Hopefully I’m overthinking it. He’s a sleeper, he loves sleeping. Hopefully that doesn’t change on vacation.

I wish we could do a suite instead, but we are there with MH who is there for a conference for work, so our hotel room is being paid for by his university. So by “vacation” I really mean vacation for DS and me, but “work” for MH.

@mambo5-2 my thoughts exactly! We are going to get a city pass I think, just so I can get him out. We are going on excursions with daddy when he’s done for the day with conference stuff. But I want to do things during the mornings before nap time, also!

@iiirene I have fond memories of spending the week with my grandparents in the country too! Those are definitely special times even if they seem less exciting on paper. My kiddo went through a period of early rising, so solidarity on that one. I don't think anything really worked to help, she just had to grow out of the phase.

@ejoseph16 I have shared a small hotel room with a small kid and as others said, it's tough, but doable. You've got great advice already so good luck and enjoy it!
@abjm0325 sorry about the timing of this FW, that is always such a bummer, especially when we've been at it so long.
@iiirene Sorry about your sleeper. My beloved 8-year-old still wakes at dawn, but he at least now knows he can't come into my room until 6:45 (weekdays) or 7:30 (weekends). Sending solidarity and I hope your little one grows out of it!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Well, I'm one or two days from the end of the cycle so not feeling terribly optimistic. My SO's birthday is next week and I wish I could give him good news so I'm trying not to think about it.

Rant/Rave? We took the kids canoeing on a river this weekend and it was so fun. My DD was skeptical even though she's canoed and kayaked before, just doesn't really remember. Her exact words: "I didn't know this could be so much fun." I love it when they moan about a day out and actually have their minds changed

Hiking and camping. They've done some hiking with us on vacations before and I'm looking forward to some more hiking this summer. DD is still a bit young but DS can hang on a proper hike now. We'll probably go to the Dolomites or the Julian Alps this summer. Though if I get pregnant before then I may be less keen on schlepping a 5-year-old up a mountain 😂

@mambo5-2 Yes, my son is usually worse. The number of times I've fought him to leave the house and then he always ends up saying, "You're right, mama, this was a good idea" is mind-numbing/infuriating/hilarious.

Rant/Rave? Our whole house has the virus that will not end; it's going on 3 weeks now, and it had seemed to be getting better and then we were all kind of worse over the weekend. DD has an ear infection, so also not fun. And DH got pink eye, so he has been absolutely no help with the taby.

GTKY: What summer activities did you enjoy as a kid that you hope your kiddos can do? Or what is an activity you wish you could have done that you hope you can do for your kiddo? We didn't have a lot of money growing up, so most things we did were at home. I'm excited for the pool, popsicles, just letting her explore outside this summer. We're traveling with her in a few weeks; just to Michigan so no flights involved, but I am a little nervous! We asked the hotel for connecting rooms; FX they actually give them to us!

@bbrahmbhatt outside is the best when you are a kid. Climb the trees, eat the popsicles, dance in the rain, make mudpies. I hope your family gets to feeling better never ending illness is the worst.

Thanks for all the sleep solidarity! The kids slept until 6 today which felt like really sleeping in!

@bbrahmbhatt sounds like the virus we’ve had. My son had pink eye, a never ending cough, and my husband and I both have an obnoxious sore throat. Hopefully everyone gets healthy soon

@mrsllux you found us! Woohoo, like I said I am pretty much the only one that is trying post vasectomy that I know of on this group. I've got three littles, 9, 7 and will be 5 in less than 2 weeks. We opted for IVF because I have a very long loss history as well and the RE told us that our rate of success would probably be better with IVF. I did try to lose weight before beginning IVF but stress and my grandfather passing away and fifty bajillion doctors appointments made me gain weight instead. Mambo FAIL. FX the time until August passes quickly!

@mrsllux I am! I had my daughter 13.5 months ago and I managed to lose 0 in that time period...FAIL. I'm working on eating better and working out now while TTC. We struggled with our first, so I am guessing it will take us some time this go around. I think we're going to do two more natural cycles and then move back to Clomid. Hoping I can lose some weight in that time!

I've been doing slimming world which I'm doing well with although Jubilee treats have scuppered the last 2 weeks progress but I'm back on the wagon! I regret nothing 😀
I'd like to lose 2 stone before getting pregnant and I'm 8.5lb down.
