I’m recovering from a stomach bug so I’ve been trying to get food back into my body after losing 5lbs from that hellish experience, but the bloating is the worst symptom for me. I will be starving like I haven’t eaten in weeks and then eat a small meal and I’m so uncomfortable and gassy after that it makes me not want to eat. It’s usually worse at night which makes falling asleep very uncomfortable. Hoping that goes away at some point or gets better.
Got super tired and then super dizzy today. I had issues in my last pregnancy with low sodium (I have hyponatremia (passed down from my dad) in the best of times, and the extra blood doesn't help) which led to them thinking I was having a stroke because I was falling over and slurring my words. I also have inner ear issues which often leads to vertigo. The stupid thing is that for as long as I've suffered with both of these things I still sometimes can't tell which it is, and this is one of those times.
Update - after a chunk of cheese and then hubby going to get McDonald's fries it was most definitely a sodium issue. I guess I'll have to watch how much water I'm taking in, especially as it's getting warmer

Sooo something I just found out yesterday and am trying to correct—tums and antacids cause constipation!!! I haven’t had issues all pregnancy but this week have had awful heartburn, so I’ve been poppin’ those babies like tictacs! WELL! Now the constipation is out of control and I’ve barely pooped in a week and look like I’m 9 months pregnant and am in so much pain! Y’all have been waaaaarned!
@sunshine2417 I tried to limit my tums intake during my lazy pregnancy. Any spicy would give me heartburn so I had to stop. I had these delicious Thai chili flavored cashews from Trader Joe’s , they were so good but 2 would give me heartburn all day (it toook me a few days to figure out where the heartburn was coming from)
This time around I’ve been trying yo make sure to eat some Prunes daily and lots of fruits and veg so I can still have the tums. and it doesn’t do a ton for bad constipation, but taking a magnesium powder supplement at night helps me sleep and helps the constipation a little bit.
@sunshine2417 unsolicited advise for constipation - raspberries! Most women should aim for 25-35g per day. Half a small container of raspberries = 10 grams of fiber. Low calorie, filled with vitamins, and I swear they are basically a natural stool oftener.
The round ligament pain has started and is trying to kill me I think. Mine tends to be a sharp jabbing pain, and likes to hit just as I'm standing up to deal with my toddlers. So instead I wind up bent over groaning. Which, admittedly, does get at least one of them to stop what they're doing to come and check on me lol (they're so sweet sometimes)

@mali0902 had a cough early on and ended up buying poise pads because even if I had just gone, I peed every time I coughed!
Hip pain while sleeping is getting to me. It's my left hip which is going to be a problem soon since we're not really supposed to sleep on our backs or right side. My bed inclines thankfully but it's not a comfortable way to sleep. This happened to me last time as well but I don't remember ever finding a solution 😬
I am starting to feel like there is pressure or tingling at and behind my belly button. It’s a strange sensation. But not sure what is causing it because at 14+5 there is now way the baby is that high yet.
I just threw up - I thought I was over this! It was accompanied by a massive headache so it makes me think this is hormonal rather than illness. Has this happened to anyone else in the 2nd tri?
My stomach feel like I have done crunches all night long. When I sit up straight or stand up with correct posture it feels like stretching after a workout. Has anyone else experienced this? It’s been way too long since I have been pregnant. I almost feel like a first time mom again.
@little_umlaut no real lightning crotch here yet but oof I think I need to put the second side on my pregnancy pillow (I have a modular one and it's currently L-shaped, I need to add the other side to make it U-shaped) because I keep getting this sharp surface pain above my belly button when I lay with my back to the pillow. I also need to make myself some belly bands to see if I can get away with not buying maternity pants because my pants are getting uncomfortable and I'm getting ligament pain.
@fantasyflyte how do you keep your pants up when using your belly band? I can’t button my pants so I do the hair tie trick and zip as far as I can and my pants always fall down and I’m constantly pulling them up, lol! It’s not like I don’t have a butt... it was like this for my other babies too so I quit wearing regular pants.
@chuckle_sandwich I haven't made them yet, yay headache day, but the tutorials say that the bands are tight enough for both belly support and to help hold the pants up because they go down past the fly area. I'll let you know tomorrow once I get some made!
I thought I was getting a yeast infection again but it didn't make sense. After thinking about it I was allergic down there to scents, like scented detergent. I think the increased blood flow and hormones and what not have reignited that allergy *sigh*
