May Symptoms

Re: May Symptoms

  • My appetite is so tiny to begin with, and then every time I eat my stomach hurts =( I lost like 10 lbs from pre pregnancy and haven't put any back on yet, and even though I know it's okay and I have it to lose and this happened with my daughter too it's still unnerving T.T

I'm feeling better but still don't like the thought of eating chicken unless it's fried.

Biggest thing is my husband and I noticed at the same time that my boobs are bigger so I went out and bought some bras at target today. Interestingly, I had to go down a size, but I haven't bought a bra since before losing 25 lb. 🤷
  • Exhausted! All the time. I can't seem to get through a day without a nap and I'm sleeping 8-9 hours per night. At 13 weeks I was really hoping for some energy back by now. None of my pre-pregnancy pants fit anymore. I've thrown on some maternity pants when I need to look presentable, but otherwise I'm pretty much living in leggings and sweats now. My boobs are also super sore! They felt fine for the last few weeks but boy do they hurt the last couple days!
  • Hey! 12 weeks today. Nausea is getting a little bit better… I think :). I’m kind of at the point where I don’t feel pregnant! And it makes me anxious. I don’t have a bump yet and I feel used to the symptoms so I just feel “normal”. Anyone else have that feeling?
  • Hi everyone! I am 13 weeks and I have been noticing some dizzy spells more often in the past couple of days. My boobs are still sore and my stomach is definitely growing although I don't think it's bump yet (I am fairly thin so I think that all of my weight gain is going directly to my stomach.) I keep trying to see if I can feel my uterus but nothing yet, hopefully soon! I think that will help to ease some of my anxiety.
  • @ashnicell. I am also feeling the exhaustion. I am still having on and off nausea which is just super annoying at this point.
  • I’m at 11 weeks and a few days now… still super nauseous all the time… still tired and low energy, still don’t ever feel in the mood to be intimate 😩 Definitely not a baby bump there which I’m ok with because maybe the later it comes the less time it will take for my stomach to snap back after birth… idk but it sounds good. Lol
  • I am 11 weeks and a few days and really hoping that second trimester being easier is not a myth for me! It’s so hard to wake up in the morning - just so exhausted even when going to bed around 8:30pm. The nausea just looms in the background at all times waiting for me to have a snack an hour late or miss a diclegis dose. Though I’m better at managing it now so it’s not as debilitating as it was a month ago.
Noticing my boobs are extra sensitive again after being relatively ok for a few weeks- some new veins appearing there too.
The only thing keeping me going is hope for the future. Day to day I start wondering if I’ll be able to enjoy any of this pregnancy- but then I have moments like my sister-in-laws bridal shower where I share my news with others and it all feels so real and exciting to share. Just trying to stay focused on what’s to come and remember these feelings are just temporary!!
  • I feel you. I was telling my husband I feel normal. Never had morning sickness. When I felt nauseous, I ate and it went away. The only thing has been feeling tired....but honestly, I've always been a napper. Lol I was super bloated the first 9 weeks, but now nothing. The only struggles I have is heartburn, but when I drink a sparkling water, I goes away. I guess my symptoms are so manageable that I really dont feel different than before.
  • My appetite is so tiny to begin with, and then every time I eat my stomach hurts =( I lost like 10 lbs from pre pregnancy and haven't put any back on yet, and even though I know it's okay and I have it to lose and this happened with my daughter too it's still unnerving T.T
I recently started adding protein powder to yogurt to just get a little bit extra. I've also lost a lot of weight the last 2 months. I use the orgain brand because it's soy and whey free (I'm allergic to soy and whey protein tends to upset my stomach) and it tastes pretty good.
  • 10w 4 days. Exhausted and by 3 pm I feel like a zombie.. I'm also super moody too. Real no nausea, it pops up randomly. But man the heartburn is intense! And my boobs hurt whenever I touch them!
  • All of a sudden today I have sciatica. Never had it with either of my other two kiddos and usually if it happens it’s not until later in pregnancy. It’s been a miserable day, I can barely walk!
  • ugh
Not having morning sickness type symptoms which I’m happy about! . But feeling tired as ever, can’t stop eating junk food, emotional wreck, and basically feel like a pile of garbage.
I think i might bite the bullet and see if I can get prescribed something.   I know eating better and getting some exercise will really help but I can’t manage to do to it.
  • @chuckle_sandwich I know your pain!  I mean not exactly becaue I don’t think it’s sciatica but i have this shitty lower back/sacrum pain that I can’t seem to stretch out.  I had it last pregnancy and it just seemed to get worse.    I’m trying to actually do some yoga this time and going to talk to my doctor about it at my next appointment and see if i can get in to see a physical therapist or something.
  • @chuckle_sandwich there are a lot of stretches, massages, and inversions for sciatic nerve pain! I had it really bad with my son and researches all the things to try helping!

  • @chuckle_sandwich ME TOO! Didn't have it until the final days with my first two pregnancies but I've had it for about two and a half weeks now and it is almost debilitating. Anytime I stand up from sitting I grab my back like a geriatric patient.
  • I thought my headaches were subsiding but I've had three headache days this week STAHP HEAD
  • Is dry skin a pregnancy symptom? I have changed nothing about my moisturizing habits but my legs are so dry this week.
  • @autumn87654321 I can completely commiserate with regular lower back pain. I’ve had cortisone injections and have had a nerve deadened.

@sunshine2417 Yes! I did some stretching. I can’t believe how much my whole right leg hurt! This morning I woke up and it was fine, yay!
  • @autumn87654321 I actually have an extreme angulation in my tailbone due to trauma as a teenager. It's part of why I chose to have c sections (it can impede progress of the baby through the birth canal). It's not too bad when I have some weight on me, but it hurts big time if I'm sitting for a while, especially when I'm at a lower weight. It really does suck. Physio helps!

  • I’m feeling much better now and I’m 2 days away from 12 weeks. Still paranoid about it and I just heard baby on the doppler. Ugh!
  • @PurplePumpernickel
That's funny you would bring up dry skin.  I am seriously struggling over here too.  Nothing seems to work!  It also does not help that I have to wash my hands a lot because I work in a school, but still it is unusual to be this bad at this time of the year.
  • I thought I had a little longer before having to pee in the morning hurt lol (pressure pain)

  • Just like my first two pregnancies, nosebleeds have made themselves at home. I’ve had 4 this week 😩
  • I think I overdid it at work yesterday and had what I believe was round ligament pain on and off all evening when I moved. 😩 (anyone happen to know if RLP is more likely with a retroverted uterus?)
  • @ponyoisfun
It is mostly my legs. For dry hands, I use lotion then I do a layer of hand salve. I have some fancy stuff from my SIL from a company called Los Poblanos, but Aquaphor is also super useful.

This first tri nausea can seriously leave any day now.
  • Nausea FINALLY started going away beginning of last week (12 weeks for me) and appetite has been returning. I’m able to tolerate the thought of eating the foods I loved before pregnancy but have made me wanna 🤢 the last 8 weeks. Energy is coming back also, which is really great because I’m already a sleepy girl so it’s been rough.
Other weird things are frequent nose bleeds and really dry hands and nipples! Lol! Fml
I’m expecting twins so already looking pregnant. Nothing except leggings and dresses from here on out I suppose!
  • @ladykenmore_ nosebleed buddies! Humidifier at night and using saline nose spray helps me. Get a pillow protector and pillowcases you don’t care about if they get really bad
  • For dry skin people, I definitely recommend DermaE vitamin E cream (NOT the tee tree oil one) You can get it at most regular stores or vitamin stores. It’s very thick so use sparingly at first, but one layer of this at night seriously fixes my skin!

  • @j1213 I feel you with the chicken aversion! I made a perfectly nice pad thai last night… ended up eating yogurt and cereal for dinner! Sometimes I can eat chicken and sometimes I’d rather eat glue. I don’t eat red meat and you’re not supposed to eat fish every day while pregnant so I’m really struggling with getting enough protein.
  • Oof of course I'd have the worst migraine I've had in a long time today, when I have a final exam, my NT ultrasound and NIPT draw, and dinner with my inlaws.
  • @fantasyflyte oof. Good luck girl!

  • I know it's not really a symptom per se, but I felt baby stretching last night. I didn't think I would be able to feel it for a while longer since I have an anterior placenta again, but it was definitely way up top and stretching out lol

@mflowers929 I’m almost 13 weeks which is when I felt my daughter start moving. I think I’ve been feeling little flutters the last couple of days, I’m curious to see if they get stronger and that is indeed what they are. I’ve heard subsequent babies are felt sooner since we know what it feels like
  • @Gingermom15 I felt my son at 13 weeks, but my daughter I was 16-17 because of an anterior placenta so I thinking that would be it again. It likely is because I know what I'm feeling for though, because it kind of just felt like muscle shifting at first but when I stopped and really felt I could tell that it was stretching coming from inside =) Just hope this babe doesn't hang out all at the top like my daughter did - at the end I had to lay down to get a full breath in!

  • @mflowers929 I had anterior placenta with my first, I don’t remember when I felt him but it wasn’t for awhile then mostly just stretching. He was a bum and at baseline not a big mover. My daughter camped out at the top like yours did and moved all day and night lol. The fetal movements are always the coolest feeling until about the 8th month for me
  • I have to pee all. the. time. Like, I peed before I walked my son to school (a football field away) and had to go back home to pee before walking to the train station.

This kid is the size of a lemon. How bad is it going to be when it is the size of a watermelon??
  • @PurplePumpernickel the peeing never stops...I am always worried about it as I am a teacher and I frequently take kids out in the woods all day. It's such a hastle.
Lately it's gotten so bad I just tell my kids we have to leave the house now or I am going to need to pee again.
  • Constipation has hit hard this week… I’ve been so regular on a daily basis thus far and now I haven’t gone in a week and am in so much pain. Just took miralax and praying for some mooooves
