Re: Weekly Check In 3/21
@lilirunning34 hope you feel better!
@runnergrl2018 - I've never heard of pact. I just googled it and it looks like a legit website!
@stardustskies - I wonder if you're on to something about back pain and placenta location. I did not get much back pain with DD and I had an anterior placenta. I have a posterior placenta this time and have alot of back pain when I'm on my feet for too long.
@lilirunning34 - Glad you had a good vacation!
@sunhineandlemons - Enjoy the week with your kiddos!
@velvetblue88 - Woohoo for great sleep!!
*Google said 14-15oz. Which is defeating because neither are even 1lb yet.
I am just "getting through" pregnancy at this point. I have some sort of appointment (for me, for DS, for the dog) now through mid-April and those are carrying me right now - something to look forward to during the week to make time go by faster.
And. No one prepares you for the transition from baby footprint art and scribble pages being sent home from school to actual worksheets and letters to home 😭

@cmhme - We don't have a will yet either! It's also one of our primary goals before this baby is born!
@feather@feather_heather My boys all look like twins! The ultrasounds are basically exact matches for all three. And the two who are born look exactly like eachother, especially if you pull photos from the same time. I swear they're going to look like triplets once they're all adults and the same size.
We don't have a will either. I don't know what happens to our kids if something happens to both of us. We don't have anyone who could become gaurdians.

@stardustskies That's an interesting thought. I wonder if placenta placement does have a lot to do with where we have pains. Hope you can find some relief!
@lilirunning34 what did you guys do while in CO? I need to get out there sometime. DH and I both have aunts that live in the Denver area. I used to live in AZ and miss the mountains. Hope your cold is short. Feel better!
@sunshineandlemons I like that your dread is about cutting fruit haha. Something so basic. Reminds me of the dread I'll have trying to wash dishes in the sink as we get further along.
@velvetblue88 I didn't get the Mr. Potato Head one either! I guess when baby is curled up in the womb they're the size of a Mr. Potato Head?? Nice job getting 8 hours!! I've been so bad lately getting between 6 and 7 hours
@feather_heather seriously, seeing anything from baby while they're still in the womb is the CUTEST. I gush every time I have an ultrasound and just see a wiggle
@jellie603 can those footballs be filled with helium to make them lighter? lol. Aww that letter!! So adorable!
@cmhme yeah we don't have a will either....
@tuxielove93 my SIL apparently laid like that and did a big stretch. It freaked my MIL out haha.

@inthewoods23 I'm in Canada, but in my case I needed a Dr's prescription to get my breast pump covered. It got a little tricky because I bought mine on sale before baby was born, but in the end they were able to back date the prescription and it all worked out fine. Definitely call and ask them before hand if there are any specific rules or requirements to fulfill for your reimbursement!
@cmhme we have the email from the lawyer with the forms to fill out to get ours done but we still don't have it yet - we really need to plan time to set aside and get it done before baby arrives! Have been meaning to do this forever, it is definitely on our "must do" list.
@velvetblue88 i had no appetite at all my first pregnancy. it came and went some at the beginning of second trimester this time but it's gone again
@jellie603 have you talked to your doc about being itchy? that can sometimes be a sign of gallbladder issues
7/17… although, I keep getting wind that I’ll be asked to be induced a week early because of my age. I hope to go into labor on my own before that should happen though!
Seventh time mama! 👶👶👶👶👶👶👶

A grapefruit with dice sized fists today.
April 1st is a regular doctors appointment and I’m still waiting on my 3 hour glucose screening results. 🤞🏼
Anxious.
My rant is that I am constantly hungry. I was so sick the first 20 weeks and now that I’m 23 weeks a switch flipped and I am a human grabage disposal. I’ve been trying to watch what I eat and be conscious of my choices, but I seem to have zero self control with it and that kinda scares me. I started this pregnancy over weight (for me) and it’s the only pregnancy that I’ve started overweight so gaining any more weight is freaking me out. I am THANKFUL to have food to eat, I just want to have more self control and not eat so often.
None this week… yet.
@jellie603 since LO was measuring small we had to go for a second opinion scan and I asked the sonographer for a second opinion on the sex too. 😂
@cmhme we made one when DD was born but the pandemic prevented us from getting it notarized and we still haven’t. We’ll add this LO’s name and birthdate to it and will finally get it done after she’s born.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7/20 22w + 6d
Rant: DD has officially entered the terrible twos a few weeks ahead of her birthday. She is all of a sudden very possessive and will throw tantrums if you don’t let her do what she wants to do or you make her do something she doesn’t want to do. It’s really the first time I’ve found her behavior challenging and I miss my happy go lucky baby a bit.
@feather_heather woohoo on the GD results!
@jellie603 I don't think that's an irrational fear! I know someone who when pregnant with her third was told at her AS that it was a girl... turns out, nope. Boy #3. Also, re kid artwork. Yes! I definitely miss the adorable foot/handprint art projects we used to get. Now I just get scribbly worksheets.
@cmhme I am also a horrible adult with child #2 on the way and no will. It's especially bad on my part considering my profession... oops. It must be the same sort of thing as Drs with the whole - do as I say not as I do thing. To be fair, we have a lot of non-probate stuff set up so there's actually very little that would need to be distributed via a will, but if something were to happen to both of us, then we have problems.
@tuxielove93 this grapefruit is moving all over the place in there. During the echo last week, we went from baby being at the top of my uterus, to laying sideways, to buried in my pelvis in the course of an hour. This baby is going to be really unhappy when the rather limited space starts to dry up.
@inthewoods23 I had actually already been looking at pumps, decided which one I wanted to go with, and ordered it - and then we decided to move all of us onto H's insurance immediately, so now I have to get them to cancel it so I can redo it through the new insurance. Most of the providers (Edgepark, Byram, Aeroflow, etc.) will let you put in your order whenever, but won't actually process it until your insurance allows it (a lot of them are 30 days before your due date). Also, most of the providers don't require you to contact your insurance or care provider at all. You fill in the info, and they do all the work.
Unrelated - but Mean Girls is a classic!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 23+4 - 7/15
Rants: My bump app wasn't working all day yesterday and made me realize how much I check it!
Edit- Not saying it's the same case for you but I feel like the DNA testing kits are worth it for the fun information you find out about yourself.
I am hoping it is nothing because we moved North last summer so this is my first really COLD Northern winter, and I am using tons of lotions and such but I am just not at all used to these extreme temperatures. Still, I figure better to get checked out, always better to be overly cautious right?

@novaghost99 it's a good idea to make sure that they have their own space to escape to if they feel overwhelmed and to sort of make that a safe zone where they don't have to worry about anyone bothering them. Letting them come and go in their own time gives them the space to explore the new person as they're ready. I also had H bring home some things DS had worn before we got out of the hospital so they could get a pre-intro sniff in. Honestly, I feel like it's easier in the early infant stage when babies stay basically where you put them and separation is easy. It gets harder to manage when they move around more, but by then you can have a relationship already established. As they get older, I think it's very important to make clear boundaries. Everyone, person or animal, has their breaking point and it drives me crazy when people let their kids harass their pets and expect the pets to just take it. It's a recipe for potential disaster. Eventually, aby animal is going to hit its breaking point and even if your family pet never snaps, teaching kids that animals have boundaries is even more important for animals that aren't part of your family and that you don't know well.
@runnergirl2018 and @sunshineandlemons it was so nice early this week in the Midwest! And now rain and maybe even a possibility of snow flurries- over it
@jellie603 I've also been getting more itchy, where it seems like I have almost mosquito looking bumps on my wrists and belly. My OB said to keep an eye on it and if got worse to make an appointment with a family practice doc. She also said hydrocortisone cream was safe to use
@inthewoods23 our insurance this time was very particular about getting the prescription, I want to say it can't be requested until like 6-8 weeks before due date which makes no sense to me
@cmhme I think my husband did our will online paying a small fee and then just needed an observer to sign it with us

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: baby is the size of a flaugnarde (had to google that one lol)
Upcoming appointments: Just had one last Friday. Everything is good. We did learn that DS also had the same exact issue with one of his kidneys (I had thought it was something else). So for this to pop up during DD AS makes my OB think that we’re just making babies that have more of a genetic predisposition for the tubing (ureter?) to attach to the kidney at a slight angle. Idk. Makes me less worried about it anyways.
How are you feeling?: Good. I’m definitely getting more tired and achy by the end of the day this pregnancy than I did last pregnancy. I half blame it on chasing around my toddler lol.
Rants/Raves: We decided to run the numbers on 2 kids in daycare and we have a little bit of sticker shock. Like, we knew it was going to high, but just seeing the numbers was a bit much. We decided to cancel our boat order and use the money to pay off our truck instead. That’ll help with our monthly expenses tremendously. It sucks, but we really would have only gotten to use the boat for a month this summer anyways. We both know it’s the right financial decision. Ugh.
Questions:
GTKY: In honor of St. Patrick's Day, what is your heritage? Love this question! I did 23 and me last year. I’m roughly 30% Scandinavian, 20% German, 20% British/Irish, and the rest is “Broadly Northwestern European” (whatever that means).
@sunshineandlemons I’m part Irish too! And Ireland was one of the best trips we’ve taken. We did actually go to the area my great great grandma was born in. We even tracked down a pub that was opened around the same time and named Morrisey (her last name). I tried to find out more history on her and the pub to see if they were actually connected but it was damn near impossible. But still an amazing experience.

We are setting up postpartum support with them too. So I'm feeling more prepared in that sense. Also, we went on a trip to see my parents and brothers last week, which was great.
