Why my pregnant self is crying - March

Re: Why my pregnant self is crying - March

  • While I was eating lunch I came across an article on Facebook about “what a privilege it is to raise a little girl.” It wasn’t even that moving, but I was full on sobbing thinking about how lucky I’ll be if this baby is another girl. I would also love a boy and am glad I don’t actually have to choose, but I’m definitely a hormonal mess haha.

  • SPOILER ALERT for the original
    Gilmore Girls!

Gilmore Girls end of season 6/beginning of season 7. Watching Lorelei mess up her relationship simply because she has unrealistic expectations on how a real relationship works, and how hurt Luke is and how willing he is to really try and to compromise, is killing me.
I was watching it for it being a comfort show and now I don’t know if I can watch it anymore.

So crying because of… what’s happening being sad AND how frustrated I am at being angry at Lorelei and questioning if I can keep watching.

I don’t want to Google and read what happens. Is it a steady downhill from here? I am distraught.
  • @pangolindrome I honestly can’t remember, but season 7 doesn’t really even count. That’s the season the show’s creator left and wasn’t really the ending she envisioned. The Netflix special is though, so I’d keep powering through.

Thank you. That makes SO MUCH SENSE. It really doesn’t feel like the show I’ve been watching. Ugh. I’ll try to power through, if nothing else so that the special makes 100% sense.
  • I watched a little bit of 'Top Chef: Family Style' in the breakroom at work. Started crying cause I can't wait for my little gummybear to be old enough to cook with me and start learning our family's traditional recipes.
  • idk why I do it to myself- was watching a vet show on Animal Planet and the 1 day old fawn they rescued (it was hit by a farmer on a mower) was still unable to walk after days of specialized treatment, so they had to euthanize it. I was sobbing.

Also watching kids movies with my 4 year old 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Anytime the parent tells the kid they’re proud of them or whatever… I’m a sap

Cried like a baby driving to work when my wedding song played. I was doing a mixture of sobbing and laughing at myself in the car lol.
  • @cfranx vet shows always end up destroying me, even not pregnant.

This wasn’t necessarily pregnant crying but I want it somewhere.

A cattle dog ran out in front of my car in a 35mph zone a quarter mile from work today. I slammed on the brakes but she just ran right in front of my car and I couldn’t avoid running her over. I tried to check on her and she, quite understandably, bit my hand. She was crying so much and at least one of her legs was broken. Poor baby.
I stayed until the fire department arrived about an hour later and there were three women watching over her. I checked in with one of them who gave me her card and the dog got medical attention and should be okay. The owners took time to reach but joined their girl at the animal hospital.
I went to my doctor, got antibiotics, a new tetanus shot, and was sent home for the day. I’m so glad that the dog was able to get help. None of it was her fault.
  • @pangolindrome oh my gosh what a terrible situation! I hope your hand is okay, and it’s so good of you to stay with the pup. Sounds like the dog will be ok, too!
  • @EmilyE13 it was awful but yeah, it sounds like she’s going to be OK. I have bite marks  basically all over my right hand and my right thumb is still very swollen, but other than that I am okay.

Full disclosure: my daughter is named Lorelai. She's not named after the show but I'm a fan. The seventh season is very stressful. The revival was too long and had a lot of unnecessary things but overall it was nice to be back in stars hollow. If you are looking for a feel good show with a small town feel then please fine Hart of Dixie and enjoy. It's actually filmed on the Gilmore Girls set. Haha.
  • Also good for you for stopping to help the dog. Not everyone would do that.
  • The crying during pregnancy is one of the worst things for me. I don't cry often and my kids are absolutely freaked out whenever I have a meltdown out of nowhere. One time I couldn't find my gloves and I started sobbing.
Recently when the live version of "She Used To Be Mine" by Sara Barielles played I started just sobbing. The bizarre thing is that I listen to it every day. I love it and now I can't listen to it without crying. It's such a sad song and sung so powerfully that I am just done.

Thank you for the tip! I’m getting close to the end of season seven so I will need another show to watch. My tastes have gone away from anything with violence lately, even Stargate, so I will check out Hart of Dixie ❤️
  • I’m watching re-runs of blossom with my 8 y/o and watched the episode where they were considering selling the childhood home.

  • This weekend I attended a bridal shower (12 weeks) and cried because my plastic fork broke while I was eating a waffle…
