yup. yup. and more yup. I'll be happy when I get used to it and it's light out after dinner, but right now I'm being pessimistic.

  • I’m so used to being tired all the time now, daylight savings didn’t even phase me when my alarm went off this morning. I don’t know if I should bitch about the ongoing level of exhaustion or take the small win lol
  • @laj0217
Oh I'm permanently exhausted too, so not really tired, just stressed about not having my normal routine this morning.
  • Was really in a funk all day yesterday and layed around watching the Big Bang Theory. Not even sorry about it. I was lazy and made ramen noodles with soft boiled eggs and [frozen] chicken dumplings for lunch/dinner since we were all out of sorts on our eating schedule because of the time change. WTF, why does one hour difference affect us so much?!
  • @mnmomma84 I loveee some ramen, what flavor is your go to??

I also personally enjoy daylight savings 🤷🏼‍♀️ in New England it gets dark so early in the fall and winter that I could’ve cried I was so happy to see it light past 6 PM yesterday.

As for shit that is annoying- I recently found out my promotion was approved but they don’t have a budget for a pay increase until October so until then I’ll be doing more work for the same pay…gotta love corporate America 🙃
  • @lucyg00cy I'd much prefer it to be sunny when I wake up like it had been for the last couple weeks. It's such a tease.
  • @lucyg00cy Our norm is the packages that are in Chinese and I think they’re either red or yellow flavors. Since supply chain issues we haven’t had them in the store I shop at so went with beef flavor maruchan. We make ours “fancy” sometimes with broccoli, carrots, egg and some green onion. It’s really not a bad meal if you can spruce them up a little!
  • @lucyg00cy a promotion without the pay increase? That sucks big time! Congrats on the promotion but why offer a promotion if you can't afford to pay for it??
  • Welcome to the US. I'm in the same situation. I got a promotion back in September, but because the pay grades for my old position and my new position overlapped, my salary didn't change. I was almost maxed out in my previous pay grade, so I will get a raise at the one year mark that I wouldn't have otherwise but it's still irritating.

  • So sorry for all of you working way above your pay grades, it's insane that so many companies pull this kind of shit. And DST absolutely sucks, though hilariously this time around my sleep patterns have been so disrupted by other things that I escaped my usual misery! The husband is struggling, though, and work has been a constant thread of "I slept in," or "I forgot to reset my alarm."

Right now, I am keeping an eye on a sick cat and facing a 2(ish) week wait with potential hard decisions, while my husband visits a close friend who landed in the ER today with chest pains. With two other family members in critical condition in various hospitals for various awful illnesses - we aren't responsible for anything on the care side there, but it means our family is spread far too thin as far as offering support. I would really, really like a "pause" button so my husband and I could take some deep breaths, hug one another, eat some food, drink some water, and take just a little bit of time to recuperate before rushing off to try to keep all of the plates spinning.

Some complicated chromosomal stuff going on - our fingers are crossed, but this may not go according to plan!

Don’t get your dominant thumb out if commission. It really sucks. It happened Monday and today, I almost cried because I could finally use my thumb to hold the electric toothbrush and use Q-tips. I was finally feeling better and I’ve just been barely surviving this goddamn week.
My husband told me he knows I feel like I’m struggling and that I’m doing well even if I can’t tell.
I feel like I’m just going from struggle to struggle. When the exhaustion might finally let up, this happened. I’m on augmentin for a dog bite (not my dog, short story I don’t feel like repeating) and I’ve been nauseous for three days with two to go. Penicillin SUCKS even if it helps.
  • @pangolindrome ouch, I'm so sorry! Your husband sounds like a good person to have around during a time like this. I hope you feel better soon.

  • @lilienne Thank you! I’ll take the last antibiotics on Saturday so I’m pretty excited about that. The healing is going really well, so yeah, I have hope.
