Vent about work:
My boss is pretty great (I work from home, helping edit a podcast, keep up her blog (I write them based on her podcasts), create her social media posts, and any other projects she has for her business about animal behavior.
Lately, we've been trying a new thing. Usually she creates her own social posts on canva, writes them, and I would schedule/post them for her. But this is time consuming on her end and it making it harder for her to concentrate on her clients. SO, we started having me make 3/week (based on her podcast) and then she'd edit, and I'd schedule/post them.
Yesterday, she sent me three quotes she wanted used and asked me to "beautify" them in canva. Sure. It took me almost TWO HOURS because I couldn't decide on the templates to use. She's very particular and I knew this could be an issue. Like, she has a vision about how things should be and having me create it....might not work.
She messaged me this morning with three templates from canva and asked if I could change the quotes to those one. Why didn't she just do that in the first place? Yesterday? WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME. I created those new templates using her color scheme and aesthetic from scratch and now I just have to copy/paste the ones she wants over the ones I created. Why the EFF didn't she just tell me that's what she wanted in the first place!?!?
I sent her a message back, trying to be calm, saying how difficult it is to fish through all her old social posts to try and find appropriate templates for each and every post I need to create. Could she please make folders for each different style so I could find them easily instead of spending hours creating new ones that she'll later hate?
Ugh. I shouldn't be this frustrated over it. But I am.
@lmaplejc@leahrnmom@coco2787@twizzleraddict1@starkette I appreciate the feedback and knowing that it’s normal for you guys to participate a little less actively later on as well when you may have less time. It’s also good to hear that you’re still able to continue to communicate after. I know many have said they became friends on Facebook and such, which I don’t have, so I didn’t know the birth month groups could go on indefinitely. It’s helpful to know it won’t just suddenly go away. I appreciate and enjoy you all the interaction here.
thank you so much! Services and funeral are tomorrow then my husband and I are heading back home Tuesday.
