  • @kbtt2022 does it feel like your uterus stretching? I have had that with all my kids. Also the bouts of being out of breath can go kick rocks. I feel you. Elephant is a good one… I can for sure identify with a pregnant elephant in June—I’ve been pregnant 18 months 🤣

@mdfarmchick I don't know...I just feel it usually after bending down to mess with my sock/shoe and my belly is compressed- sensation is after sitting back up. It's definitely stretching though, I gained another inch around the waist! 18 months...can you imagine!
  • @kbtt2022 hmm I’m not sure I’ve had that exact sensation. Maybe someone else can help. Early baby movement feel like something brushing inside of me. Some people say flutters but mine usually feel like soft brushing inside. I don’t know if that helps.
  • @bridgiebee82 stroller systems are super dependent on a few things IMO - do you have an elevator or will you need to get things up stairs? Do you need to be lifting it in and out of your car on a daily basis or will it mostly be for getting around near where you live/for walks? Do you live somewhere with somewhat rough terrain and would want all terrain wheels? I have heard good things about the mockingbird single to double stroller. I know someone else who primarily drove her kids in the first 9 months and used a double frame stroller which basically carted around the car seats, and then got a real stroller later in the year once.

k@kbtt2022 that might be baby! Or your uterus expanding.

@mdfarmchick I did not do a cute reveal
with my daughter lol but that sounds like it would be super fun! We knew we were having a boy and that she would be slightly
bummed bc she’s a five year old girl obsessed with other girls. she still will randomly ask if we can have a girl instead 😂
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: aug 22 14 w

Baby is the size of a(n): peach 🍑

    Team: finding out

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/4

How are you feeling?: finally getting some energy back.

Rants/Raves: I had the wrost day today. It was like living in a nightmare.

    Questions:

GTKY- What do you think is your spirit animal? I would have to say a sloth 🦥 because I love sleep.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days:  8/31 (although probably 3 weeks earlier because twins), 12+6

Baby is the size of a(n): lime(s)

Team: impatiently waiting to find out genders from NIPT this week

Upcoming Appointments: 2/28 I have a transfer of care to an OB appt. We had our 12 week ultrasound last Thursday and both kiddos are doing well!

How are you feeling?: I actually feel a lot better this week, even on night shifts. Still some random nausea and bloating but my energy is starting to come back.

Rants/Raves: Most of my baby stress stems from family drama and not knowing when we will be moving to our property/ when our own house construction gets underway/ when my in-laws basement will be finished enough for us to move in

Questions: I lost weight over the last month (only 4 pounds). Should I be worried? I haven’t been vomiting and I feel like I’ve been eating so much.

Also does anyone else find looking at baby registry suggestions overwhelming?

GTKY- What do you think is your spirit animal? I’m gonna go with a dog lol. Or a unicorn. Depends on the day.

  • @bridgiebee82 same! I’ve been researching and found a really good blog/website called lucieslist that has a ton of twin specific advice and links to products with reviews. It’s helped me narrow stuff down so I can ask better questions next time I go to a baby store.
  • @sarahdaley11 it's pretty common to lose  weight in first trimester. I was told to try to get in nutrients but to not worry about losing if it happened. Now that you are approaching 2nd trimester you should start gaining. Closer to 1.5 lbs/wk in 2nd and 3rd trimester if you are starting at a healthy weight.  I've been worried about gaining too fast (8 lbs so far) but I'm still withing the normal range at this point.
  • @buffythevampireslayer oooh yay! I really think that doulas are worth every penny. I hope you get your VBAC!

@babybellsmommie oh I’m sorry it was a crap day. I hope today is better.

@sarahdaley11 yay for finding out this week—will they be able to tell you each baby or just if there may be one or two boys?? I wouldn’t worry about losing four pounds. It’ll all even out in the end. You can bring it up with your OB at the next appointment but I think it’s pretty normal to lose weight sometimes in the first trimester. And yes. Baby registries are overwhelming. I think I used the suggestions from Lucie’s List to make my first’s registry.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/30 - 13 Weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): Mini Cactus or espresso cup!

Team: Finding out - won't be for awhile as we opted out of NIPT.

Upcoming Appointments: 3/18 - Just a check up!

How are you feeling?: Morning sickness is stronger than ever...hoping that it goes away really soon. Also, I have started getting uncomfortable while sleeping, so I think a purchase of a pregnancy pillow will be happening soon.

Rants/Raves: We are starting to tell everyone and will make a social media announcement soon too. I'm excited about it so I don't have to hide how miserable I feel sometimes. Ha! But I also don't love the attention.

We are also starting to paint the nursey (exciting) but the smell...  :s

Questions: None as of now??? When is too early to start a registry? I currently have lists and favorites on Amazon and Target and I'm just ready to get started.

GTKY- What do you think is your spirit animal? I'm going to skip this question this week!

  • @bre2022 I wouldn’t worry too much about gaining weight yet. It will come. Those “recommendations” you are reading are an average. Some people don’t gain much until the third trimester. And that’s okay.

@vvvvvfee that is super annoying! I’m sorry that they switched hospital associations on you. Do you want to see if there’s an OB practice that you like that still delivers at the original hospital?
  • @brittanynmorris oooh. What color are you painting the nursery??
  • @mdfarmchick thanks, i did think about that, but i feel like looking for another doctor at this point might stress me out more. i've been with this same practice through all my pregnancies so i trust them and kind of know what to expect. i am def going to talk to them at my next appointment, though.
  • brittanynmorris definitely start registries now! you can choose to keep them private until you're ready. it's a good way to keep track of what you may need (which is of course, way less than what these stores might suggest!). it's nice to have more than one, too, because then you can take advantage of multiple registry completion discounts later. amazon also has a pretty nice free sample box you can get if you build your registry and then make a $10 purchase.
  • @mdfarmchick thank you for the reassurance! Hopefully everything continues to go well with baby and he's growing strong and healthy. Can't wait to see him on my next appointment!
  • @malloryfrommn Love the meme! I feel like that some days. Especially right after eating!

  • @brittanynmorris oooh I think that color totally goes with a mid century vibe ((she says like the expert she is from watching too much HGTV)) 😁

@malloryfrommn oh yeah. So that meme is in fact my life. I understand completely it gets better for a bit before third trimester. I think. 😝
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Aug 20/ 14+1

Baby is the size of a(n): crayon (?) lol

    Team: Green

    Upcoming Appointments: March 10

How are you feeling?: Stressed/worried. Physically I look pregnant and am wearing maternity clothes which are so much more comfortable.

Rants/Raves: Had a terrible dream last night and I haven’t been able to shake it today.

    Questions: Nothing

GTKY- What do you think is your spirit animal?

A bear… lol they like to sleep (i.e. hibernate) which is my dream.

  • @vvvvvfee sorry about the changes at your OB adds unneeded stress.

    @mdfarmchick congrats in the girl!

@brittanynmorris I agree with the others, start the registry now, you can keep it private which will allow you time to research items, etc.

  • @mrswin1207 I’m sorry you had a crap dream. Honestly I’ve had a few crappy ones and they seem to linger. I hope tonight is dreamless for you. ♥️
  • @mrswin1207 I’ve been having bad nightmares when pregnant too, like not weird, just straight up bad. And I remember them and they stay with me! So I feel you.

@malloryfrommn that made me LOL I can totally relate

@brittanynmorris never to early! I got a ton of satisfaction from doing this during my first pregnancy because it was something I could control - making decisions about what I wanted/needed for the baby.

    @bre2022 don’t worry…it will come lol.

    EDD / Weeks + Days:  8/24 / 14w

Baby is the size of a(n):  Peach

    Team:  Blue 💙

    Upcoming Appointments:  3/4

How are you feeling?:  Physically I’ve felt pretty good through the whole pregnancy. This is my first so I definitely have anxiety about everything being ok.

Rants/Raves:  Finally telling all of our family and friends which has been soooo much fun! But also house hunting and planning a move which is so not fun haha

Questions:  Anyone planning a babymoon? We want to, but not sure where to go.

GTKY- What do you think is your spirit animal? Right now I’d say a dog.. I get bursts of energy but then just want to nap all day. Plus I’m a sucker for a good massage!

  • @buffythevampireslayer @brittanynmorris I think that's why I've been obsessing over our registry lately. I still have it set on private, but I've been editing it non stop lately, and I think it must be because I feel like I have control. Interesting!
  • @jojo_nico We are planning a babymoon + first anniversary trip! It is over the summer, just because I'm a teacher, so we will have to stay somewhat in the midwest as I'm sure I won't be able to travel too far. Not sure where you are located! But we have looked into Door County, Lake Geneva, Galena, and other midwest destinations!
  • @jojo_nico we aren’t planning a babymoon but are doing a last trip as a family of three. I would def recommend a babymoon if you can swing it. Somewhere you have to fly, and a place that is not kid friendly :)
  • I’m on a phone so it’s hard to reply directly but-

Baby moon: we are definitely taking one (although my husband refuses to call it that) and my ideal one is this super fancy resort on the coast near us (southern ca) that would be a crazy splurge any other time. Although it’s a good point to fly somewhere since that will be more difficult in the future! Maybe that means Hawaii….

Dreams: I also have been having really intense dreams, and they are mainly pregnancy/baby related. Sometimes they are so disturbing!

Registry: I set ours up today because once our parents tell our families they may ask, but I literally added one thing (milk freezing bags???) and then got so overwhelmed with everything else I stopped, haha. Perhaps a project for the weekend.

EDD / Weeks + Days:   8/25 13+6 last day of first trimester!!

Baby is the size of a(n): can fit on a tuna can

    Team: 💙

Upcoming Appointments: we have just a scan tomorrow, 2nd tri screenings in 2 weeks!

How are you feeling?: I always feel anxious in the day or two leading up to an appointment, even if there is no reason to feel anxious. I can’t wait to see our little boy tomorrow. We have a name picked out and if all goes well tomorrow we will share with our wider families. Starting to feel very real even though we have a long way to go!

Rants/Raves: I’ve been able to teach online up until now (our school was online for a few weeks, and I got an extension because I have MS which makes me more vulnerable to Covid) but I have to go back to in person teaching next week. One the one hand I am excited to be back (teaching a biology lab online is the worst) but I’m also nervous, and really curious how it will all feel. I got diagnosed in May 2020 and I haven’t taught in person since, so between that and the pregnancy I’m feeling nervous about fatigue especially. Although I do feel like my energy is coming back this week!

    Questions: none right now!

GTKY- What do you think is your spirit animal?

I will also skip this one but I will say my favorite animal is a capybara!

  • Due August 31st! 13 Weeks today!

Baby is the size of a lemon.

Team: We found out and I will announce here after immediate family! 💙💕

Feeling: Good, excited, tired, a tooth hurts as if it’s shifting?, random cold sores on my lip, a waves of nausea lingering, and some aches.

Rants/Raves: We told my family this weekend! They are so excited and my Dad, who has been one of the most excited, says it still hasn’t sunk in. He’s in shock of excitement. He’s imagined it for the whole 3.5 years we’ve been married, but it feels unreal to him yet! He’s going to start shopping for everything baby as soon as it hits.😂🥰 Mom and I have compared notes on symptoms we had. She never had morning sickness with the 5 of us, so she sympathizes there. She heard my husband has been doing all the dishes and said maybe she should have it after the fact so that Dad will do them for awhile. Lol. We tell my husband’s family this weekend! On the way back from my family’s, the car had issues. We turned around and was able to get it in the next day. They were able to change the axle, cvs, rear wheel bearing, rear brakes, and head & tail light much better and faster than expected. The service made it a rave instead of rant!😂

GTKY: I’m probably a Panda or an Otter. Cuddly and Fairly Friendly.
  • I’m going to bed soon, so will respond to topics, but save myself time and not go back and tag everyone.

LOW WEIGHT GAIN: I understand the concern, because there’s a lot of talk about eating for two and bumps while pregnant. I’m also a first time mom, but I’ve lost 4 pounds and am 13 weeks pregnant, and here’s why I’m not worried (maybe it’ll give you peace of mind.) 1. Weight fluctuations are normal to start with, not to mention we just had the holiday food around getting pregnant. 2. My ultrasound shows the baby is measuring the right size, and it’s size matters much more than mine. The growth of the baby and mom don’t always reflect each other. 3. The baby only weighs a HALF an ounce. It’s easy to look at all the features our baby already has, and imagine it weighing more. Even with two babies totaling an ounce, it won’t make up for the weight you may lose eating healthier, being sick, having food aversions, etc.. For comparison, it’s normal to have up to a few pounds of waste in your body at a time that may come and go, changing the number on the scale as well. 4. Overall reminder, if you eat healthy, take prenatals, and your doctor says your baby is growing well, don’t worry about the number on the scale. It will climb as the baby starts to weigh more.

BABYMOON: Yes! We are doing a babymoon to Hawaii next month! We’ve never been there, but have been wanting to go! We wanted to fly to another state and climate to enjoy extra sun and beach! Although Babymoons aren’t realistic for everyone, you likely won’t regret the splurge to strengthen the family before baby comes!🥰

STARTING REGISTRIES: I vote never too early! I’m not really looking into the suggestions most websites provide. I feel like there are many pricey, awkward sized objects that are suggested as “musts.” I have followed a couple moms on YouTube and watched some different mom videos on newborn products that they did and didn’t use and why. I found that some were more minimalist, some very practical, some suggesting everything big or expensive, and others aligned with what made sense to me. Some products one mom would love and another not use, but the whys helped me evaluate if I would use it. (Ex: Wipe warmer- Moms with fussy babies at changing time liked it. Other moms found it was unnecessary and not practical away from home. My take away is that I won’t buy it unless my baby screams over a cold wipe on the regular.) I have had a private Amazon list that I add my favorite things too and then I research the best of certain products and delete the other similar ones (Ex: I add the best clean diaper ointments, then pick what I think is the best, based on research, and only keep it on the list.) I’ve had this list going for a couple years, but as soon as we announce to hubby’s family, I will move the products to the registry. That way I don’t have to remove things from the registry because of finding something better.
  • @mangoandguava boo to YH traveling and I hope Turkey is going to be okay! Yay for a good appointment and for getting out of jury duty!

@pastabilities is it the Hotel del Coronado?? That’s my dream vacation someday. Or Hawaii 😁 Also check with your insurance; some insurance companies cover the milk storage bags. I hope everything goes well at school next week!

@meagan822 glad your family had the best reactions and it brought you closer together.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/21, 14+5 I think

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon

    Team: Green!

Upcoming Appointments: My MFM office is seriously pissing me off. When I made my first ultrasound appointment, it was a huge struggle to get an appointment during the timeframe I needed it. I made sure to make my anatomy scan appointment at the same time (nice and early!) so there was no way they would be booked up. Well, they called me this week and said the office actually was going to be closed on the day that they scheduled my anatomy scan for. My ob wanted it between 20-22 weeks and the MFM office could only offer me appointments at 19 weeks or 23 weeks. I'm sure it probably would have been fine, but I'm getting so fed up with their scheduling issues, I basically was a pain in the butt on the phone until they found something for me.

How are you feeling?: I feel very up and down - some days I'm like yes! second trimester energy! I feel great! And other days I'm like wait, I still feel nauseous and crappy. I also had a stressy week with family drama (I will divulge more about my crazy in laws some day in a private setting).

Rants/Raves: Rant - Many people in my life are pushing my boundaries this week! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about covid and rules and whatever, but people (family) constantly trying to get me to bend my rules is stressful. I have no problem enforcing boundaries but its still frustrating/anxiety-inducing/uncomfortable. Rave - DH got me a fancy nespresso maker with a milk frother for Christmas (I love lattes!) but I couldn't drink any form of coffee all first trimester, I was too nauseous. I finally started using it this week and I am a very happy girl!

    Questions: none at the moment.

GTKY- What do you think is your spirit animal? Hmmmm... maybe a butterfly? In the past few years, I went through a major "transformation", switching from a super corporate job to a completely different super creative job and it has been life changing!
  • @mdfarmchick I was thinking of Terranea in Palos Verdes but Hotel del Coronado looks so lovely too!

@twizzleraddict1 we loooove our nespresso!! I feel grateful I could drink coffee during 1st tri. Glad you can enjoy yours!
