Updated Thread Schedule

Based on what our group seems to be interested in/responding to, here's the current schedule for threads that likely makes sense going forward (it's not that much different than the current, just with a few additionals added in based on topics of interest and some frequencies changed, and a couple fun ones from the August and October groups):

Monthly Threads
Appointments
Why Is My Pregnant Self Crying?
What Weird Dreams Is My Pregnant Self Having?
Symptoms
What Is My Pregnant Self Eating?
Moms of Multiples
AMA Mamas
Ask a STM+
Exercising Mamas

Mondays
Randoms
Monday Bitch Fest

Tuesdays
Getting to Know You
Product Spotlight

Wednesdays
Hump Day Bump Day
WTF Wednesday

Thursdays
PGAL Check-In
Unpopular Opinion
Thankful Thursdays

Fridays
Flame Free Friday Confessional
Furball Fridays
Friday Funnies

Weekends
Weekly Check-ins (I believe it likely makes sense at this point to split this into 2 check-ins, one for 9/1-9/15 and one for 9/16-9/30; some groups do one for each week but I feel that's a bit unwieldy).
Weekend Word Assocations

Thoughts?  Suggestions?
Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

Re: Updated Thread Schedule

  • @kboydbowman do we wanna do weekly check ins for gestation instead of the dated week? E.g. Check in Week 16 and whenever you get to week 16 you write in that thread, rather than check in this calendar week and have a spread of multiple gestations?

  • I haven't seen it done that way, but I'm amenable to the option.  The only problem with that is that it makes it harder to interact with people - you're less likely to go back and read how person A was doing at 16 weeks if they replied two weeks ago and you're just replying now.  The dated option allows for a bit more interaction on a weekly basis (in my opinion), but the point of splitting it into two groups is to make it so people are able to talk to people who are gestationally "close to them" each week.  Let's see what other folk think and then we can decide (I have a day to edit the post lol).

  • Yeah that makes sense!
  • I think it makes sense to have a weekly random that starts each week on Monday, just so it’s easy and I agree about checkin’s by gestation week being a little confusing but I’m down for whatever. My last bump board def didn’t do quite so many threads, we just did one for each day and whoever posted it for that day chose which one they did (in addition to the recurring weekly/monthly threads). But no harm in lots of opportunities for chatter in the beginning especially while everyone is still getting to know each other.

Also, everyone should feel free to post threads! While you should play by the rules of the monthly boards (“read this first”), anyone can start threads and post!

Yes, absolutely anyone can post!  I am anal retentive and tend to check each morning and post the ones that haven't been done yet, but @trapperkeeper87 and I certainly aren't the only ones who can post!

I can definitely move randoms to Monday - editing now to adjust.

  • I also just adjusted and moved Product Spotlight to tuesday to spread stuff out a bit.

  • @kboydbowman This looks good! Can we also add Friday Funnies? It’s where we can post memes. They always brighten up my day.

I think splitting into two groups based on due dates is a good idea. And we can still lurk whichever one we’re not in. 😄

  • @elle-0409 I can totally add that.  We do Friday Funnies on my FB group from October 2020 and it's my favorite post of the week.  The only reasons I was reluctant to do that is that the threads can get super long and sometimes if there are significant political differences people can get twitchy about political funnies.

  • @kboydbowman Yeah, I thought about that, too. We can try it out and if things get too heated, then maybe we’ll have to pull the plug on it. This is a diverse group, so I’ll choose memes that aren’t politically charged to post in here. Here’s an example of what I’ve got:
