Re: Product spotlight: Vitamins

  • I've been pretty happy with Thorne's prenatal vitamin - even though it's three capsules it goes down easier than some of the others. I also like mama bird's fish oil "one fish, two fish" - it's so gentle and they're small pills.

  • I've been taking the Garden of Life prenatal and Nordiac Naturals Prenatal DHA. Love both!
  • I started with the Garden of Life softgels and they were just too big for me to get down during extreme nausea. I switched to the Olly gummies. Might go back to the other ones after first trimester and my stomach has (hopefully) settled.
  • I'm a big fan of "gummy" versions whenever possible.

  • I’ve been taking Nature Made Prenatal Multi + 200 DHA and love it! I used to take gummy multi-vitamins and was taking PinkStork fertility gummies before I got preggo and I do miss the fruity yum that are gummy vitamins.
  • I have a bunch of different otc ones. I had the nature made that @mk2022x had, but I just finished those. I've moved on to another but it's not gel cap. I really prefer gel caps. I also have a hard time remembering to take them, anyone else?

When I do remember, I also take a megafood blood builder. Pretty much the only iron pill that doesn't make too super sick or constipated. It also does its job without me having to remember to take it with orange juice.
  • @jhysmath I'm definitely worse at remembering to take them this time around!
  • @lalarose22 For my first I kept them on the beside table, easy to remember. With toddlers who are into everything, they're in the bathroom medicine cabinet. I forget most days to take them. I just keep telling myself that the people on "I didn't know I was pregnant" always end up with healthy babies even though they don't take the vitamins.
  • @jhysmath hahaha for sure!!
  • I do love the Throne Prenatal as well. Sometimes 3 is a lot to get down so I break them up through out the day.

I am going to have to try the best nest fish oil. What I was taking was way to big and I just can't do it.
  • I keep all of my daily medicine at my breakfast place, in a pill sorter. It's so many pills (GERD medication,  sertraline, probiotic, prenatal, vitamin C), but it helps me to remember. Maybe that's a solution for some of you? My husband fills them every Saturday after breakfast. I also keep my daughter's vitamins next to mine, so I remember to give her hers as well.

  • I'm a big fan of pill sorters.  Mine sits in my kitchen in a place I have to walk by it any time I go in the kitchen, so it helps me remember.
