Baby is the size of a(n): hard boiled egg. Or an egg. Lol
Team: 💚 but MH is team finding out
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday 2/9
How are you feeling?: just tired and cranky
Rants/Raves: I love my snoogle pillow that I got but my left him hurts from sleeping on it. I'm a stomach sleeper normally, but I know I should sleep on my side.
Questions: does it matter which side I sleep on? I wake up with sciatic pain all the time.
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course. If I would ride a bike everywhere, I would. In the winter, give me a car with heated seats, or ad I like to call them, hot cross buns.
@bridgiebee82 LOL at hardboiled vs. regular egg clarification. Which pregnancy app (if other than TB) do you use? Let us all know if you find a better pillow/sleeping option! I'm also a stomach sleeper but it's getting pretty uncomfortable. But also don't like sleeping on my side. I've always heard that it's better to sleep on your left side when pregnant, but I've never cared enough to research why.
EDD / Weeks + Days: August 22 / 12+0
Baby is the size of a(n): Plum
Team: Blue!
Upcoming Appointments: Last appointment and ultrasound with my RE tomorrow, then appointment (and I assume ultrasound) with my new OB on Friday to establish care.
How are you feeling?: Physically, good! Nausea has been so off and on this past week. Hoping it goes away as the second trimester gets closer. Emotionally, better. Anxious for our ultrasound tomorrow.
Rants/Raves: I've been craving jalapeño cheddar Cheetos my entire pregnancy but cannot find them anywhere and am getting very nervous they're being discontinued lol.
Questions: Has/is anyone else changing OBs during your pregnancy? I don't know why but I'm so anxious about the transition. With DS1 my RE (also an OBGYN) would let some of his patients stay on and provide their prenatal care all the way through, and he let me stay on last time. He's not delivering babies anymore so it's not an option, I just love him and his nurses and am anxious to have to make a change.
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course. If it's just for leisure, ride a horse. For legitimate travel, definitely vehicle.
Upcoming Appointments: had an ultrasound this morning, baby boy is growing perfectly 💙
How are you feeling?: Ugh, felt worse today than I have any day in recent weeks. Woke up dry heaving and then gagged/barfed up half my breakfast. Hoping being in 2nd tri will bring an end to the nausea.
Rants/Raves: We need to buy a new car to accommodate this baby but car prices suck so much right now. Really hoping it will be better by this summer.
Questions: nope
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course. If weather is nice, bike.

@aukeev my last pregnancy my OB went on maternity leave when I was in 3rd tri and I switched to midwives. I was a little sad about it but the Dr/MW isn’t in the room much anyway (plus you might end up with whoever is on call anyway) so it wasn’t *that* big of a deal.
@bridgiebee82 it doesn’t matter that much, I’d just sleep however you can get comfortable.

Team: Finding out!
Upcoming Appointments: Not til 2/23, and just a plain old visit then.
How are you feeling?: Overall not bad. Most of the early symptoms seem to be easing their way out.
Rants/Raves:
Rant: So my goal has been to wear loose flowy dresses as much as possible to try and mask the "bloat bump". I wore one today that was loose and flowy before and it was not so loose and flowy now (as noted by the new rip along the side seam at the bodice). I decided to go to Old Navy (because I’d already gotten lunch from the same shopping center and was getting in the car when it ripped) and get something else loose and flowy because it's faster than going home to change. Unfortunately the thing I bought at Old Navy was not only NOT loose and flowy, it was like body con but made of woven cotton with zero stretch or give to it and it was AWFUL so I wound up taking an extra hour after lunch to.... go home and change. Into pants. With buttons. The horror.
Also my car has been doing a weird thing since December and I’ve got to get it on video so I can convince Honda there’s a problem so they will fix it. It happened four times today after I left Old Navy and once when I tried to leave work to go home. It just won’t turn over. And then at Old Navy after the fourth failure to crank, I called my dad and WHAT DID IT DO?! CRANKED RIGHT UP. This car is the devil.
Rave: MH is getting dinner tonight though! I'm going to train him to get dinner when he's local so that I can deal with that slightly less often.
Questions:
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course.
I DEFINITELY think I’m gonna go with car. Horses and bikes get uncomfortable faster. And (this is weird and dumb) I feel bad when I ride horses, like I’m gonna squash the horse.
@mangoandguava omg your car issues... I feel them in my soul. "Dad? I need help---nevermind!" Every single time!
@aukeev I've heard that the left side in general is better for sleeping, but especially while pregnant for like lymph, liver, and stomach drainage purposes. But I'm going to go with what @coco2787 said and just sleep how I'm comfortable. My stomach isn't it for me anymore.
Team: finding out SOON! My NIPT blood draw arrived at the processing center last Tuesday. I should be finding out any day now!
Upcoming Appointments: boutique u/s on 2/17, then next OB visit on 3/3.
How are you feeling?: nausea is still hanging on! I'm so tired, too. Ready for second trimester.
Rants/Raves: took DS to his 2 years well check appointment tonight. It. Was. Exhausting. Temper tantrums and running amok in the lobby. Holding him down for shot, blood draw, teeth varnish. All the fighting to wrangle my toddler, plus wearing a mask, had me feeling extra nauseous.
Questions: none
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course. Definitely a car. I'm all about comfort and convenience.
@aukeev I changed OBs because we moved out of the city and into the burbs so it made the most sense. I was also nervous until I met him and the practice seems awesome and everyone seems great! I have seen two different doctors which I’m happy about, my last labor was so long I had multiple and I just want to get to know more than one. I hope you like your new one! It’s always scary making a change. And good luck on the Cheetos!
@coco2787 I am with you on the car situation. We currently share one car but think we will need a second when the new baby comes to support multiple drivers shuttling kids around, etc., and are very discouraged by prices.
Baby is the size of a(n): lime, and I’m jealous of everyone who has a non fruit related baby size thing
Team: 💙
Upcoming Appointments: My next appointment is right on the dot at 16 weeks, but the big news for today is I got the results of my first tri testing (NIPT and NT scan) and all looks good! Which means I feel ready to tell my daughter finally which also means EVERYONE will find out, lol.
How are you feeling?: I feel like I’ve slightly turned a corner though this pregnancy is definitely worse, not sure if that’s the baby or my AMA status 😂
Rants/Raves: My husband has been using my pregnancy pillow, wtf
Questions: I have to do a 22 week fetal cardio scan (indicated in IVF pregnancies) has anyone else done this before?
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course. I love horseback riding and would ride a horse anywhere. I like bikes if I feel safe aka there are no cars. I hate driving, in fact if I never had to drive again in my life I would be happy, but I don’t hate being a passenger.
@aukeev I switched from my RE to my OB today! Luckily this is my OBGYN I’ve had for a while but I was really anxious about how the structure of the appointment would go. It was definitely much more “doctory” than my RE, where it was basically just “is the baby ok? Great!” But I found it comforting to hear more about what is coming up as opposed to just appointment to appointment.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/25 11w+4d
Baby is the size of a(n): Lime
Team: finding out - did the nipt draw today!
Upcoming Appointments: Had an ultrasound and blood work today, I will have another ultrasound in about 2 weeks.
How are you feeling?: As mentioned above I was a little anxious to go to my regular OB but all went well, including the NT scan! I’m feeling more and more confident, and I am excited for the genetic results at which point I think we’ll be ready to start telling everyone. I celebrated by finally buying a few maternity clothes!
Rants/Raves: my OB knows me pretty well (he performed a surgery this past summer to get rid of a huge endometrial cyst that ended up being worse than expected and so it became pretty major surgery) and he knows both my husband and I are anxious. So he said “normally I’d see you in a month but that’s too long for you, right? Let’s do two weeks.” It’s really nice when doctors know you and care, and have the flexibility to alter care as needed!
Questions: none right now!
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course. I love horse riding but I don’t think I could do it as frequently as I need to drive a car, haha.
Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a tennis ball?
Team: will find out at anatomy scan
Upcoming Appointments: Not until March 7. I havd to thst day. One with OB and another 3 hour appointment with maternal fetal medicine.
How are you feeling?: pretty good. Less gagging! Sore throat from covid is now gone too!
Rants/Raves: I have to return to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off.
Questions: None ATM
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course.
I've always thought I was born in the wrong century. A horse for sure. I would love to live in simpler times; no electronics, churn your own butter, cash system, less hustle bustle of things that I hate and more time doing rewarding basic human life tasks like growing my own food, taking care of animals, etc.
@pastabilities Congratulations!! My RE has the same structure for first trimester appointments. Quick ultrasound and HB check, ask if I'm feeling ok, then we're done! I'm so glad your OB is taking your history into account and doing more frequent appointments. We meet our new OB on Friday, but my RE today told me she was one of his residents and he thought we would really like her. So that made me feel a bit better! Good luck going back to work! It's so hard to get back into the groove of things.
@bridgiebee82 they recommend sleeping on your left side. A, it’s supposed to help with heartburn because when you lay that way, it doesn’t squish up your esophagus even more or something and b, they say that you won’t compress a major vein. But I’ve been told by several OB’s and midwives that if it starts to compress you will be uncomfortable and roll so it’s not really a big deal.
@aukeev and @bridgiebee82 I am a stomach sleeper and I use a king or body pillow to lean over and I tuck it around my bump so it pretty much feels like I am still sleeping in my stomach.
@coco2787 I’m so glad that you had a good ultrasound. Also I feel you on the car thing. We need a third row vehicle because MH said I am not making our Excursion my daily driver 😝🙄
@mangoandguava the car thing is so annoying. Currently my car is running loud which is not a very good description to tell MH let alone the mechanic… but it is! The engine is idling super loud and I have no idea why. I hope you can figure out the issue with yours.
@malloryfrommn yay for finding out any day now!! Also I’m so sorry about the dentist. I’ve been there. It sucks.
@buffythevampireslayer yay for good NIPT results! Also YH has lost his mind. Take that pillow back. Lol. I did that with my last one. My MFM is extra precautionary and he wanted to do it because I was over 35. I don’t remember it being a very big deal.
@pastabilities I am so glad you had both a good appointment and an OB who understands and can make appointments that work for you. That is such a small thing that makes a big difference.
@kbtt2022 good luck with your two upcoming appointments! Glad you are over Covid and finally feeling better.

How are you feeling?:
Overall pretty good with the nausea meds. I had two days of normal energy last Thursday and Friday, but I’m back to wishing for naps again so I’m hoping I’m moving towards that second trimester energy. 🤞🏻
Rants/Raves:
My sister is here for DS 2 & 3’s birthdays and it has been really nice to have a second set of hands. I’ve gotten my kitchen back to mostly order, and organized half of the family room. Today I’m working on cleaning my living room and sorting laundry.
Questions:
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course.
I actually really love road trips and so would mostly pick a car but it would be nice to have the opportunity to perfect riding a horse.
Y’all I’ve been meaning to come back in here to reply to everyone and it has just been a thing. Here I goooooooooo
@pastabilities that is such a thoughtful thing for the OB to do! I love my OB group, but they are one of only two major OB/GYN clinics for like, four counties worth of people, so they just don’t have the most flexibility because of that.
@mdfarmchick yay for your sister being there! I know an extra pair of hands is always helpful, especially when there’s kids involved.
@kbtt2022 ugh, going back after two weeks off sounds like the worst. I hope you enjoyed the time off though!
@malloryfrommn yay for finding out soon! Boo for a challenging doctor’s appointment with your son.
@coco2787 I hate that you’re trying to buy a car in this market. Inventory is crap because the manufacturers can’t get the parts they need, and a lot of the manufacturers in this area (including two major car manufacturers and lots of parts manufacturers) are having to shut down lines for staffing shortages on top of having product supply issues. It’s a disaster.
@aukeev congratulations on graduating from your RE! I haven’t changed OBs since 2016, so I don’t have any helpful info, but sending good vibes for a great appointment on Friday!
@bridgiebee82 I have no tips but I’m sorry your snoogle is making your hip hurt! Also - heated seats are a feature I definitely didn’t consider a necessity until I went from a car that had them to a car that doesn’t. Next time they’re an essential. Also windshield wipers with a variable intermittent setting (which I did not realize was an upgrade and thus was SHOCKED when my Civic did not have them).
On a related note, I videoed my car every time I cranked it today. Who wants to guess how many times it did The Thing?
I’m feeling better, slow but sure. Covid is behind us now and this weekend was the first being outside in 3 weeks. My case was really mild, so I didn’t mind the excuse to stay home, but doing things have been nice too. I did refill my Zofran to have it, but I don’t need it 4 times a day every day anymore! The nausea is in waves more than constant.
Rants/Raves: Seeing my husband excited to be a Dad is the best thing ever.
I love a nice sports car, especially Italian, and enjoy road trips.. but I also love a simpler time and LOVE horseback riding. Biking is really nice and low maintenance as well... @kbtt2022 I’m like that too! I don’t use my Kitchen Aid near as much as a bowl and wooden spoon. One of my top reasons for wanting a home/property instead of being in an apartment is simply to grow food, compost, cook on an open fire, etc.. I don’t even drink coffee, but I want a French press. I have a mortar & pestle on my wishlist. Life isn’t meant to be lived inside on a screen!
@meagan822 I feel the same way about apartment living. I miss just hanging out in my back yard by the firepit at my dad's house. I have 4 raised garden boxes that my brother built me that I have no room for here at my apartment. I'm hoping that MH and I can move out before the babies get here. I'd love to have my own space to spread out. I struggle with getting off of my phone and screen time because I've used it as an escape for my anxiety. I've decided to learn how to play guitar, dedicating at least 30 minutes a day/night to it.
@bridgiebee82 I can relate to you there! There’s just something about having your own piece of the outdoors! We also hope to be out before the baby comes. We had a plan for a half nursery/half office, and to get more financially ready for a house, but we just got a notice that our rent is jumping up a fair bit, effective in two months. We plan to get preapproved for a loan and find a realestate agent, but it’s hard to find things we like or anything at a good price.
I still spend too much time on the screen, as we all do, however I do find when you fill some time with a hobby, it helps reduce that! Learning the guitar is huge! And that’s amazing! Way to go!😊 Bonus, It’s 30 less minutes on a screen, and that amount of time daily allows you a lot of time to learn. I’ve been quick to think I don’t have time for things I want to do, but if I look at my screen time, I am reminded that I have time for anything I prioritize, and sometimes it’s easy to default to screen time. Sometimes leaving books, knitting, art supplies, etc out around helps me pick up my phone a bit less. Every fall, I regret not being out in the summer more. We all have so much room to grow! I hope you feel peace stronger than anxiety.💕
@meagan822 I know what you mean about screen time. I have app timers set for all my social media accounts because I just get sucked in to scrolling mindlessly. I have an android, so I also have focus mode, me time mode, and I set a prayer mode. During those specific times, I can only access certain apps. It's helped me focus my time tremendously. I hope your plan to move out comes to fruition. Moving is stressful. Moving while pregnant is stressful, I'm sure. But like you said, having your own space is so nice. It's also a pain because of all the work and maintenance, but it's YOURS. 💓
@bridgiebee82 That’s wonderful! I love how you have certain focuses at certain times! Thank you! If it’s meant to happen, God will open that door. I get excited about moving, but it also would be the biggest move yet (volume wise) since this is the first place we got together and made into a home. Organizing everything into an empty house is overwhelming, despite my love for organizing. I’m sure it would be much harder while pregnant.. and if we move in the summer, I want to create a garden space and have a garden. It may be a crazy summer..😅 I agree about the maintenance-It’s nice to just make a phone call If an appliance breaks, and they replace it. We’ll actually have to pay for that stuff!😬😂

EDD / Weeks + Days: Aug 17/ 12w 5d

Rants/Raves: I have to return to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off.
Questions: None ATM

I've always thought I was born in the wrong century. A horse for sure. I would love to live in simpler times; no electronics, churn your own butter, cash system, less hustle bustle of things that I hate and more time doing rewarding basic human life tasks like growing my own food, taking care of animals, etc.

Finding Out
Upcoming Appointments:
Thursday for the NT Scan
EDD / Weeks + Days: Aug 22 12w1d
Baby is the size of a(n): plum
Team: finding out
Upcoming Appointments: 3/4 just a regular visit
How are you feeling?: tired and nauseous
Rants/Raves:
Questions: N/A
GTKY- Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Pre/post pregnancy of course. I would drive a car. I like to be comfortable.
@pastabilities that is such a thoughtful thing for the OB to do! I love my OB group, but they are one of only two major OB/GYN clinics for like, four counties worth of people, so they just don’t have the most flexibility because of that.
@malloryfrommn yay for finding out soon! Boo for a challenging doctor’s appointment with your son.
On a related note, I videoed my car every time I cranked it today. Who wants to guess how many times it did The Thing?
Not ONCE. 😡🤬😡
Baby is the size of a lime!!
Team finding out! The blood draw is Monday. We should know the gender within a week, and we start announcing in a week and a half!
Upcoming Appointment: Ultrasound Tuesday (Feb 15th.)
