I just wanted to jump in and let you all know that we made it! 3.5 days of driving, north Ontario (Barrie - Kenora) was a bit of a snowy slushy mess, but after that it was smooth sailing to Alberta.
The only thing is I managed to get a UTI in all this craziness and I’m currently waiting until a walk-in opens here. I was so busy on moving day I didn’t drink very much water, and then the entire drive has been long stretches of highway with nowhere to stop. So yeah, I’ve been in a fair bit of misery since yesterday afternoon.
But, we get the keys for our house today! Can’t wait to see it for the first time!
Ugh both girls have come down with preschool colds. We were due. It's been since Christmas so no surprise but still stinks. The 2 year old has a runny nose and postnasal cough and the 5 year old is struggling because she is stuffed up laying down for bed and getting herself hysterical that she can't breathe...in turn making it harder to breathe. Rapid tested the 2 year old yesterday - negative and will do them both again tomorrow probably. My husband gets PCR tested tomorrow for work too. I kept the 2 yr old home from preschool today but was hoping to send her back tomorrow. Will see how that plays out.
I passed my glucose exam!! They also scheduled my THIRD anatomy scan because little man won’t let them get any good pictures. Last visit he was breeched with his face towards my back, so they just want to try again to get better pictures of his heart and we haven’t been snake to see his face to check for cleft.
The weather is so crazy here (upper Midwest)… yesterday was 38 and raining, today it’s 60+ mph wind and -27 wind chill. So all the rain yesterday froze all over the roads, ugh… The only thing saving my mood right now is adding noticeable minutes of daylight daily. By the time it’s truly spring here, baby girl will be born (we’ve had snow into May before).
+1 for the crazy weather. It will be 70 here today after we had finally had some actual “winter” temps for a stretch. Been getting alerts last 2 days about the high pollen counts going insane. GRRRRREAT.
Pro- both the dresser and chair I ordered just arrived! con- there’s no way in heck I can get both these in by myself, but the chair is sitting on a pile of snow and idk if it’s protected or not, so I’m worried it’ll leak through! Hopefully I don’t get a hernia or anything trying to at least pull it up onto the porch 😆
@And846 I ended up being able to roll them both up our step and somehow got them inside! I’m going to be out of breath for the next 30 min but I’m proud of myself 💪🏼 The dresser ended up being way harder, I didn’t realize it was over 100#.
In a shocking turn of events, I passed my glucose test!! Waaaay lower than with DD, and lower than my normal fasting numbers too 😳 very excited that I can still eat my birthday cake here in the next couple weeks 🙌
@brookejay06 it really is the most fun time of year down here! It’s consuming my life right now but after it’s over all will be boring AF so I’m living it up while I can, too. 😂😂😂
If anyone else is expecting bad weather today, hope you stay safe and warm! I’m hoping it’s not as bad here as they’re saying. The KY governor declared a state of emergency yesterday in advance of today/tomorrow’s winter storm.
Like it’s 74° here right now - gross, muggy, and foggy. It’s supposed to rain here later and then drop temps by like 40°. The low tonight is in the 30s - back to bipolar weather here!!!! Hoping the rest of y’all stay out of harms way! They are saying on the news how bad the ice storms may get!!
Stay safe all! We're in the high 30s already here. Very slight chance of flurries this evening! Probably gonna fill up my bath tub tonight just in case 😂 we're mostly prepared from last year's snowpocalypse so we have alllll the batteries and lanterns if we happen to lose power again.
Great weather here in GA. Chilly but dry, thank goodness. I have an outing planned with my mom and grandmother to get fabric for the nursery’s curtains! I’m excited! And I’m thankful I won’t have to drive an hour and a half to meet them in bad weather. Everyone stay safe!!!

@b_1029 we had our bad weather last week. I think they called it a bomb cyclone but it dumped about a foot of snow on us. Luckily this weekend we're only getting rain and possibly some sleet.
Since some of us are entering into 3rd tri, when would be a good time to start the migrating discussion (PG and/or Facebook)? I know I’ve said it before but my last bmb did it pretty early compared to others since at the time the Bump was having so many technical issues, so I don’t know the normal timing of this.
@b_1029 I don’t know either it’s been a long time since my last two BMB’s. I have seen that other BMB’s right before us have already moved, and looks like they started out with a poll/vote on timing and whether they wanted a private bump group or private FB.
Might be worth starting a convo, but no need to move this or next week for sure. At least to light a fire under the lurkers' booties to prompt them to start participating a bit more?
I would love a facebook group! As a FTM I kinda like being able to asking y'all question or read y'alls input as STM+ moms. It would be easier to be more active on Facebook as well, in my opinion!
