Re: Weekly Check In- week of 1/24

  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5/19, 23+5

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments: next week! Bonus anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: so. Freaking. Tired. I don’t sleep well anyway and then last night I literally woke up 6x between 1-3:30. Continued waking up frequently after that. Why is my body doing this to me?

Rants/Raves: just the above. Wtf. I have no raves in my current state other than the fact we’re only 2 days from viability! Wooooo!!!

Questions: did you do anything to get your older kids ready for siblings? Bonus points if they were between 1.5-2 years old?

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to? Definitely Coldplay! I saw them twice in concert and both times amazing.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Upcoming Appointments: My 3 hour glucose is on Thurs 😩

How are you feeling?: I’m really starting to feel it in my lower back and hips.

Rants/Raves: My unit at work (med/surg/obs) is currently back to about 50% covid with this surge.. we didn’t surge this high with Delta.. I’m hoping we can maintain around this level so I can continue caring for the non covid patients on my unit and not be faced with the choice of caring for the covid patients (which I haven’t been during pregnancy) or transferring to a different unit

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?

Also Coldplay! I saw them about 10 years ago and just 💜💜
  • @happynapper @b_1029 I feel like I've seen Coldplay, but I'm not entirely sure...😂🤔

@happynapper I don't remember where you are, but in my area, we've already hit peak covid for omicron and are on the downturn for % positive and hospitalizations. Still high, but downward progress none the less. Hopefully the same happens for you guys soon!

    Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 24+1, 5/16

    FTM/STM/TTM+: stm

Upcoming Appointments: glucose test next week. Dreading it. So much. At least DH can come and carry my ass around the building while I attempt to not blackout and not puke my guts out. 😖

How are you feeling?: Everything hurts. My low back/pelvic region is all messed up, but I'm sitting on my exercise ball for work now so hopefully that helps. My upper back is tight too, but hopefully my massage this weekend helps loosen everything up.

Rants/Raves: long rant: whhhhy is it so difficult to buy a legit replacement mattress for our pack n play? Not interested in off brand replacements, I'm not convinced they're safe. Ours def needs to go, we have some stains on it from DD so I'd really like a new one. So I went to Graco's website to order a new one, because they tease you and say replacement parts are available. But then I need my model # and manufacture date. my PNP is still quarantined from last summer's bed bug incident and I'm too paranoid to release it, even though it's almost assuredly fine, so I don't have that info immediately available. Ok fine, I can look up model # online, but no clue on the date, so I make it up. Says no parts are available. Gah. Now I will inevitably wait for Graco to respond back to my customer service inquiry where they tell me too bad, you're out of luck, we don't sell that part. I don't *want* to have to buy a new PNP, but I'm guessing I probably will. The one we have is $75 right now, so it's nothing fancy, but STILL. it's the principle. (Although for my own mental health, I really should just buy a new PNP. )

Questions: piggy backing on @b_1029 question, but for 3-4 yr olds 😬. How have you guys prepped them for baby?

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?foo fighters! Went with DH, it was a lot of fun!
  • @pajamstagrams I’m in a more rural, midwestern state and we’ve been consistently a month behind most places… after the coming Sunday, I have a nice stretch of 13 days off so I’m thinking we should be right at peak when I return and hopefully working downhill from there 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The book I used for my oldest was “You’re a Big Sister” by Marianne Richards. She loved it. I haven’t done much prep for my 3yo this time bc she kind of already understands the concept of having a sibling. What I will need to work on (probably soon) is more safety things for her to remember like please don’t try to pick the baby up by yourself, we don’t share snacks with the baby because she doesn’t know how to eat yet, etc 😅 My oldest (was 3 at the time) really gagged the heck out of her little sister with the pacifier one time when she was trying to be helpful and put it back in… just things like this to think about with the siblings that will be a little older because they really want to try to help.
  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days:
    May 28th, 22 weeks and 3 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Upcoming Appointments:
I found a family doctor where we are moving, so we have an appointment set up in February to do a meet and greet, and hopefully get a referral set up for an OB.

    How are you feeling?:
I’ve been a roller coaster of emotions this week. There is just too much going on. Today was a much better day emotionally than the last few days though!

    Rants/Raves: Ahh, it’s moving week!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?
I’ve never seen Coldplay but I think that would be a great concert!
  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 23 weeks 3 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 2nd 💗

Upcoming Appointments: OB today and MFM Thursday

How are you feeling?: pregnancy wise really good!  I am starting to feel big and uncomfortable at times which worries me what the next 16-17 weeks are going to be like!!

Rants/Raves: I am finally mostly over Covid!!  That wasn’t fun but I’m thankful since I know others have had it so much worse!

    Questions: none now ☺️
  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 24+6

    FTM/STM/TTM+:STM

    Upcoming Appointments:2/14

How are you feeling?:exhausted and my back feels so jacked up.

Rants/Raves: had another AS exam since baby wasn’t in prime position last time for spine and gender pictures. Well still wasn’t ready today neither. The tech had me doing all sorts of things and luckily got images of the spine but the baby was legs closed the entire time so she nor the other tech could tell me with 100% certainty. Baby is breached so not sure if I will get another US later on to see if position has changed or not but baby is healthy which is the important part.

Questions: what odds would you be comfortable telling people what the gender is (or suspected gender)?

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to? I went to jingle bash years back that had brittany spears and backstreet boys that really had my 90s self singing along to all the songs.
  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5/4, 25w6d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Upcoming Appointments: Glucose test in Thursday 😬

How are you feeling?: LO has been kicking me awake all night or I wake up at 5ish and can't fall back asleep. I've also had horrible heartburn on and off the past week.

    Rants/Raves:
Rave: we're finally in our reno house!! We have a couple more projects to finish while we're here, but so excited to actually be living in our new home.
Rant: moving while pregnant is the worst. It took so much longer since I'm not lifting a lot and I'm very slow moving. My hips and feet hurt so bad at the end of each day. Next time I'm convincing DH to hire movers pregnant or not.

Questions: Any tips for heartburn? I have tums but would love any other tips too!

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to? I saw Ed Sheehan a couple years ago and was very impressed how he does everything himself. Notable mentions for Mumford & Sons and Twenty One Pilots too.

    Upcoming Appointments:
OB next week with glucose I think?
    How are you feeling?:
Finally feeling really amazing. But it is getting harder to put on socks already. Bring back the flip flop weather!
    Rants/Raves:
I wish all this house/move stuff was done.
I can’t WAIT FOR MY PARADE!!! Sooo close!!
GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?
Elton John. Always wanted to see him. He just came to NOLA but the tickets were CRAZY expensive.

  • @addsprinkles521 definitely plenty of time for baby to turn around. I think lots of babies are breech this early.  As far as gender odds, I'm paranoid, so or l'd say like 95%+ lol. I'm guessing you're asking because your AS wasn't definitive, since you couldn't get a great potty shot?

@karisahamdi @fireflyz_56 I can't believe you guys are moving/have moved while pregnant, that sounds so stressful!!
  • For my girls we also have the “I am a big sister” book. Which they both really seem to grasp. We also talk about baby sister all the time and this weekend will start on the nursery to make it more “real”. I think it’s important to not have so many changes at once too. So with the car seats, we’re going to shuffle them in like March. We’ve already transitioned the nearly 2 year old out of the high chair. And we’ve talked a lot to my oldest about her getting a new dresser and would she like to give her current one to baby sister? (don’t have the new one yet). We don’t want them thinking that baby sister is taking over or they have to give up all their things/space. And as tacky and cluttery as some baby gear is, we’ll have it all out and set up like a month in advance to get the girls used to where things are and how to behave around them. So doing some stuff now so they’re used to those changes before the grand arrival.
  • @pajamstagrams correct, baby’s legs were closed so they couldn’t see in between. The first tech said she was like 70% sure but wouldn’t say I should go out buying anything gender specific yet.
  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 22+5

    FTM/STM/TTM+: Third time mom

Upcoming Appointments: next appointment is in 2 weeks and then next glucose test at 28 weeks.  (since I had GD last pregnancy I get to do it more than once.  Already did and past at 16 weeks and they wanted to hold off till 28 because the numbers were perfect then.  28 weeks and then I think again at 34.

How are you feeling?: Hips are achy and at times painful.  have a consult this morning with a pelvic floor PT to see if that would help.  I did chiropractic last 2 pregnancies which was hit or miss and think this is more a muscle/ligament issue than alighment.

Rants/Raves: This is totally not pregnancy related but......I am so proud of my husband because he is starting to teach a graduate class this semester.. But it is a night class and he was going to go to the gym after.  Well I woke up to pee at 3am and he wasn't in bed and I got so anxious that something happened on his way home.  Turns out he was just sitting in his office excitedly working on something for his course but it still made me so anxious at 3am it took me forever to fall back asleep.

@b_1029pajamstagrams. We have a 2 yr old and a newly 5 yr old.  We talk about the baby here and there and have a few books they like but its still so far away for them to really get it.  We love the book Hello in there: A big sisters book about waiting by Jo Witek.  It is so cute and has little flaps to see the baby growing in a belly over the course of the book.  Both girls like the lift the flap books still.

Upcoming Appointments: Glucose today and midwife tomorrow

How are you feeling?: Really wonderful and riding this wave!

Rants/Raves: Rant = Dentist. I had an appointment this morning. New dentist for me as we moved right after an appointment with the last dentist. She acted like I’d never seen a dentist before and didn’t know what teeth are. She pointed out soooooo many unnecessary things. Did the same with my husband a couple weeks ago. Except I have 0 patience with that, and am already looking around for another dentist while he booked wisdom teeth removal and an inquiry to get braces…
Rave = home stuff. By the end of this weekend I’ll have all the little home projects that I promised myself I’d finish before starting on the nursery and I wanted to start the nursery at the beginning of Feb. Right on track!

    How are you feeling?:
Tired. In the hospital last week with a bad kidney infection and preterm labor, and it has knocked the stuffing out of me.
    Rants/Raves:
Bedrest is for the BIRDS. I've never been so sedentary!
    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?
Favorite one so far was The Zach Brown Band. Two I wish I could go to - Disturbed and Two Steps from Hell.
  • @rainbowchaos oh no! I’m so sorry to hear about all your medical stuff. Did they just put you on bed rest or are they having you take / do anything else? (I know I said “just” bed rest but I know it has to SUCK)
  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 25 weeks 2 days - May 10

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

    Upcoming Appointments: 1/31 Glucose test

    How are you feeling?:
Nausea is back- again. Every time I think she's gone she reappears! I've also started taking Pepcid, I tried to hold off as long as I could but this heartburn has been AWFUL. It's even started waking me up from dead sleep. I feel guilty for taking a daily OTC, but I know it's gonna be okay. It just makes me a little paranoid since we tried for so long and had to have months fertility drugs to conceive. I'm just a worry wort anyways so that doesn't help!

    Rants/Raves:
Rants- My sister is 12 weeks pregnant and like super stick thin still, ny the time I was 12 weeks I had people commenting on my "bump" almost daily at work. I got asked TWICE grocery shopping yesterday how soon I was due, they said "Gosh you look like you're gonna pop any day now." I have three more months! I need re-assurance my body isn't going to explode, lol. I haven't seen my coochie in weeks. I can't tie my own shoes. Usually a FTM takes forever to show, and I just feel huge! I'm as big as a co-worker who is a FTM and 33 weeks pregnant. I'm not overweight, 23 BMI before pregnant and only gained 15lbs. If I've learned anything, its you can't compare your body or journey to others fro sure!

    Questions:
For my glucose test I have to drink a 16oz coke in 15 minutes. Will this not make me throw up? I'm scared because I am gonna be driving myself and chugging a coke but what if I throw it up?

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?
I got to see Riley Green at NCF last summer- that was pretty awesome! However, I tried to go to a Tom Petty concert a few years ago and my boss wouldn't let me off work and he passed away just months later. Completely devastated! I should have went anyways! One of my biggest regrets.

  • @sydneyannette53 nice that you get coke rather than the stuff at my OB office. I know at least for me if I throw up that I would have to take the test again. It def felt at points that my orange sugar drink would come back up but luckily it didn’t as I tried distracting myself with other things.

    @addsprinkles521
I was excited about that until I realized I have to chug a carbonated beverage in 15 minutes lol! Are the glucose drinks at the office carbonated too? I wonder if they'd make me drink one of those instead if I did get sick. I'm just scared because I still get soo nauseous still.
  • @sydneyannette53 god a carbonated drink sounds miserable. Can you leave it out and make sure it's flat first?

I don't remember my glucose drink being carbonated. Just extremely sugary, which was hell on an empty stomach when you already dislike sugary things. I almost threw up with my first, here's to hoping I keep it down again next week lol. It's not uncommon for people to have a really bad reaction to the drinks, fwiw.
  • @pajamstagrams I didn’t think about leaving it out so it’s flat! I’m going to call my OB and ask after work. Thank you!
  • @sph97 No carbonation. I had to take it twice last pregnancy (failed the 1 hr) the first time it was room temp and the second it was cold and that made a difference but was still too much for me.
  • Not carbonated. Am I the only one that doesn’t despise the glucose test? I mean, I don’t mind the drink and they don’t make me fast for the 1 hr. Never had a problem with it. Only thing I didn’t love was sitting in a hospital waiting room for an hour when hospitals seem to be the greatest covid spreaders.
  • @annashaf other than the waiting around, I didn’t mind it the first time.
  • @annashaf I don’t mind the test!! They tell me to just drink it 1 hour before my appt and then they immediately draw my blood when I get there. I am allowed to eat protein before the test, just not carbs…. idk why it seems like my regulations are so different from others!!
  • The 3 hour is the real disaster. I have to fast tonight starting at 10:30. For the entirety of the 3.5 hours I have to remain in the hospital lab where they can see me. No bathroom breaks, no sips of water, no walking around. They will call me back to a room every hour to draw the blood but otherwise have to sit in the crowded (gross) waiting area. It’s ridiculous.
  • I’m terrified of the test this time bc of my surgery but it never bothered me before. The drinks are just gross no matter what though 😬

@brookejay06 my OB won't let me eat before the one hour at all, so I guess everyone is different 🤷‍♀️. But I agree, wish I was in the "you can eat something, incl carbs" camp, because fasting until 10:30 am (also no coffee) when my test is up is going to add to the misery.

@happynapper GL with your test today! 🤞Have all the snacks after!
  • I’m doing my glucose test now and 40 min into the wait. I had that nasty orange flavor drink and my tip is to bring a straw to chug it faster.

I also realized i never posted my weekly update. Oops.
  • I didn't the glucose test was so bad, either.  Last time, they sent the drink home with me and they recommended drinking it really cold, which I think helped.  I did feel really gittery the rest of the day, though.

@fireflyz_56 good luck with the move!

    Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 22 + 3

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Upcoming Appointments: none this week

How are you feeling?:  I've been so tired this week!  Like, first trimester tired.  I've been sleeping ok but am still dragging all day.  I've also been getting headaches but I'm 99% sure it's just because I'm not drinking enough water.

Questions: Tips for drinking more water throughout the day? I know the obvious answer is drink water but I just don't think about it.

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?  I haven't been to many concerts, but Ed Sheeran was really fun to see live.
  • @tango_612 find what makes you drink more water. For me, it's a straw water bottle. Or anything in a straw. Or decaf coffee. Or a fun mocktail. I also like mixing sparkling water, juice, and coconut water in my big Yeti (with a straw of course) and sipping on that. Basically, plain water gets real old real quick as I'm sure you've found.
  • Est. Due Date / Weeks + Days: 23 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: second

Upcoming Appointments: glucose and a counseling apt with my midwife, a couple weeks away.

How are you feeling?: Good? I think? I’ll explain more below. But it’s great to feel baby kick so much.

    Rants/Raves: rant.
    I’m so confused.
After having nausea/headaches/vomiting last week (but good energy!) and then my husband coming down with Covid over the weekend, I’m just confused. Was that Covid for me? Or am I about to get sick? I’ve been laying low all week in case I’m *about* to get new symptoms, but so far I feel totally fine. So today I ventured out of the house (with my mask) and then of course I started feeling super tired. “Is it Pregnancy? Is it Covid?” : A Novel by Me.

I’m not paranoid about getting Covid, i just don’t want to unintentionally expose other people. But how long do I wait at home, symptom free (other than pregnancy crap), before I can live my life again!?

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite concert that you’ve been to? Or wish you could go to?
I would love to see Bieber or T Swift 😂 Like a basic white girl.
  • “Is it Pregnancy? Is it Covid?” : A Novel by Me.

    Uggggh stuck in the box...

    Accurate. 🤣

Honestly without taking a test (PCR, cause I'm guessing a rapid would be neg without strong symptoms) you probably won't know if it was covid. Glad you're feeling better!
  • F me. I failed the 1 hr gestational diabetes test. Guess I’ll get to experience the infamous 3 hr test after all! I was totally flummoxed (and disappointed in myself) though. I have 0 risk factors and never had any issues with my other pregnancies! So, I started googling. Guess what can raise your blood sugars? Vaccinations and flu shots. Guess who got their flu shot at 9pm the night before the glucose test? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Ugh. Totally feel like that should be something they tell/warn you about…
  • @happynapper yayyyy!!!
@brookejay06 ughhh so annoying not knowing but FX maybe you def already had it - especially with the tummy issues(been hearing that more about latest strain) and it was just quick and kindof mild!

  • @annashaf Oh no! Such a bummer. You did the best you could with the knowledge you have. Hoping that the 3 hour is mostly painless!!
  • @annashaf nooooo I’m so sorry…
In a truly bizarre twist of fate, my glucose was lower (125) at 1 hr today after the 100g drink, than it was last week 1 hr after the 50g drink (139). I truly believe the 1 hr is super flukey or can be thrown off easily by things we wouldn’t expect. It’s not a fun test to experience but hopefully it turns out to be nothing.
  • Well, i failed the 1hr glucose test. I came back with a result of 153 and was so shocked. I did so well last time with DD (106) and was being cocky and expected the same thing. I guess now it’s onto the 3hour test
