@brittanynmorris we just married after dating 10 years too!! ( married in 2020) so needless to say I can't talk to anyone in either family without mention of babies, starting a family, are you pregnant yet.. We are 10 1/2 weeks and haven't told a sole. My husband is dying to tell people. Hoping to share with family next week!
@mdfarmchick I’d recommend, but I love anything organized and everything having a place to go! I know it’s not always up everyone’s alley!
@and_peggy Thanks! I do a second of everyday project every year where I record a second to compile into a video at the end of the year to rewatch everyday and I’ll definitely be recording their reactions!
@brittanynmorris that's adorable. I love how simple but so special.
We have told our families except my dad and my grandparents. My grandparents didn't have their booster yet, so I want begging them to get it so we could see them. I've had several patients that are double vaxed but not boosted. I don't know how I plan to tell them. We have a book that says "big brother", I thought about taking that to dinner and having DS ask them to read it. I dunno. I also have the super cute video of telling DD so I also thought about just showing them that. My dad had covid recently, just got out of quarantine Friday. I wanted to tell him in person but wanted to wait a bit. Now that he has had covid I think we will have him over in a week or so.
We haven’t told anyone yet. *TW* We had a previous loss in 2021 and for us it was really hard to tell our families the bad news after giving them the good news. We’ll tell them what’s going on either way, and I know I’ll have their support, but it’s just something very difficult to handle at a time when you’re trying to process so many other thoughts.
That said, when we are ready, I’m thinking to make a short funny video to tell the news. With the long distance we have, this is the best way I could think of to share the excitement with them.
The first time around, I had told my supervisor and so she also knows what happened later on. She was so supportive about the whole situation. She’s now also pregnant, but leaving Greece soon to deliver back home in the States. So I’ll probably tell her soon to help with the planning and preparing her replacement.
@brittanynmorris Ours is the first grand baby for both sides of the family as well!!! And I relate to telling the parents a week apart. My Dad is SO longing for a grandbaby and we’re telling him first for his birthday, but he doesn’t do well at not spoiling surprises sometimes. And while my family lives hours from my husband’s family and it wouldn’t likely get to them, he is going to struggle to not tell anyone outside of immediate family for over a week. We are telling my family first, then hubby’s family and then our closest friends (in person, FaceTime, and text) throughout the following week.. So it’ll be nearly 2 weeks of announcing before we’ll post it on social media and let anyone other than us announce.😅 I feel like their 3.5 years of anticipation for a baby (while we’ve been married) will make them all struggle to keep their mouths shut.🤣 I have given announcements and the timeline so much thought that I would be crushed if it didn’t go as planned too.
I love your plan for announcing the pregnancy! We also have a catch all room that we need to clean out to allow it to be an office nursery duo. That will be a project for when the nausea subsides a bit more and some energy comes back!😅
I love The Home Edit and Marie Kondo!! Our baby’s books will be an organized rainbow!😍
@meagan822 I love your announcement timelines and I really hope the surprise isn't spoiled. The look on my younger brother's face when I told him was priceless. He was dancing around the living room. Haha he even made MH and I take a picture together in front of the pocket doors that we always took homecoming and prom pictures in front of. It was fantastic.
I've never seen Marie Kondo (but I know about her tips) or The Home Edit. I really need to purge my clothing. I just have so much... I love the idea of arranging baby's books by a rainbow. We are planning to do a Noah's Ark themed nursery so that is perfect! Except the teacher in me wants it alphabetical by author's last name, too. I know the reality will probably be "whichever ones we read the most at the top." Lol

@kbtt2022 we love Bible stories, and we figured with twins, the animals went 2 by 2. So why not Noah's Ark? 😂 when we finish up, I'll definitely post pictures.
@bridgiebee82 Thank you!!🥰 That is such a sweet reaction, oh my goodness! I’m so excited for the excitement and variety of reactions! It’s going to be so fun!
I’m sure you would love the shows!! Marie Kondo has my favorite clothes sorting method. It feels like a lot at once, but really makes a dramatic difference when you tackle it that way. I would suggest putting the sort pile somewhere other than on the bed though, because running out of energy while pregnant is very real!🤣
The rainbow organization would be perfect for the Noah theme. A childhood church nursery was themed that way and the 4 walls made a whole scene! The mural was awesome!! I do relate to alphabetizing too! And yes.. Favorites will always be front and center. It’ll be so sweet when our babies have favorite books! That’s something I was thinking about earlier today. I remember why I picked the favorites I did, but what will my baby’s reasoning be?🥰

Edited to fix autocorrect making mistakes.
