  • @betsummerswilliams the songs from Encanto are continuously running through my head. I don't mind though.
  • @knottie, I had cloudy urine earlier on and read it can be caused by rising hormones. It was happening for me in the am when my urine was more concentrated
  • Ummm sometimes when I cough, which is like every 45 seconds or so... I get a weird little crampy feeling down by my pelvis. Weird? Am I being paranoid?
  • TW…

Just here to chime in with some reassurance. I had spotting off and on until I hit 11 weeks with my first. Then I had quite a big clot and ended up in the ER. Where my son was happily wriggling away on the ultrasound. I had a pretty big subchriotic ((sp)) hemorrhage ((basically a bruise/blood clot from implantation)) and it finally passed at week 11. Everything was fine after that.

@and_peggy I am so sympathetic for you with the mindf%€£ of the off and on, varied bleeding but am just hoping that this is a sticky baby. Your ultrasound was good on Thursday and I am trusting baby is fine. What a freaking roller coaster though
  • @bridgiebee82 sounds like round ligament pain. I find it helps to hunch over when I cough or sneeze.

  • @mdfarmchick I appreciate that kind of reassurance 💜 my dr didn’t see a SH or any placental issues, but didn’t take them off the table. She wasn’t worried, and the more it’s gone on, I’ve gotten less concerned. It’s just bothersome. Baby was very wiggly last week so I’m just trusting everything is okay too. It feels kind of par for the course. Each additional pregnancy has definitely been harder on my body.

  • @and_peggy I feel you on every pregnancy being just a little harder physically for sure! My freaking hip flexors started hurting almost immediately since my body was like, “Oh, we are pregnant?! Release the relaxin!”  :D
  • @mdfarmchick I appreciate you sharing that reassuring experience.
@wigglyicecream I appreciate the echoes, friend
@bridgiebee82 me too, with the songs, and I don’t mind a bit!
@and_peggy you’re in my thoughts often, and your words of advice are said frequently

My FI got me my first ipad, delivered today, and it’s SO much easier to tag/reply personally now!!!

    TW
An uptick & clotting made me call the on-call again, who was incredibly patient and helpful. Going to hold tight til my scheduled US on Tuesday instead of treating me and FI to a 4-6 hour Covid-laden ER visit.
  • Ugh y’all. I just cannot win. Easily put, I’m allergic to being sick. Whenever I get a good virus like the flu (or apparently covid) and I start to feel better, I get hives. Like the worst kind of hives, huge welts all over my body that all blend together, sometimes even on my hands and feet, making it difficult to walk. It’s an auto immune response but like why now? Ugh. They usually last around 5/6 days before I end up in an ER or urgent care for a whole cocktail of meds- that I probably can’t get while pregnant. Benadryl doesn’t usually touch them and knocks me out. I’m trying not to stress, but I’m stressing.
  • @paytonpedro Oh no! Can you go to the women’s hospital instead of the ER if you can’t wait until tomorrow when the obgyn is open?
  • @paytonpedro I wish I had words of advice for you, but can only commiserate. My grade partner at school had an adverse reaction to the vaccines like this. When her body started responding to it, she was one bug welt. She is still on prednisone, months later. I don't even know if pregnant women can take that. Can you wait to see your OB? Do they have an on call doc?
  • @paytonpedro ugh what a frustrating thing to deal with right now. I’m sorry! Praying it goes away without meds and you’re not uncomfortable.

My kids have sensitive skin but the baby and my 2nd both react crazily to things like you’re describing and I know they’re miserable each time.

  • @paytonpedro I'm so sorry! Hoping your doctor can find the right mix of pregnancy safe medications to help!
  • @paytonpedro That sounds just terrible. I hope they can find something safe for you and make you more comfortable.
  • Thank you all. As it’s not currently an emergency, I plan on waiting. I took loratadine so I’m waiting for it to kick in. Right now it’s on my knees and elbows (which is where it always starts). I will likely call my OB Tuesday-ish if they’re still here or if it becomes unmanageable before that.
@bridgiebee82 I talked with my doctor when it first came out, and we decided against me getting the vaccine because of severe allergic reactions. I can’t take a steroid pregnant I don’t think, but that’s usually one of the ingredients in my cocktail. I’m sorry your grade partner dealt with that and still is, it’s incredibly miserable.
@and_peggy I’ve been getting this response as long as I can remember but it has been especially hard to manage since my senior year in high school. I also am allergic to so much but it doesn’t usually illicit a reaction like this, just when I’m sick. I hope your kids don’t have to deal with it long term and it’s something they grow out of!
  • @paytonpedro my sister is a nurse and has this problem and she said the ER docs recommend a protein pump inhibitor with hives over Benadryl. Usually Prevacid is safe in pregnancy so maybe you can call the on call OB and see if they are okay with you taking it and it can help with the hives. That is so miserable.
  • Thank you @mdfarmchick Pepcid (probably same/similar to Prevacid?) is usually part of my cocktail as well as Benadryl when I got to the ER. I am knocking on wood, but the loratadine is keeping them down and from being too bothersome currently. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
  • @paytonpedro yes! Any protein pump inhibitor. I just know my OB previously approved Prevacid but you should obviously make sure your OB is okay with it. I hope it’s not a major flare up this time. That sounds miserable.
  • @paytonpedro Ugh, that sounds awful.  Hoping your doc can prescribe some pregnancy friendly meds soon.
  • If I was further along than I am I would swear I got kicked in the cervix twice today... it felt exactly like a remember but im 11 weeks so its doubtful... but it still brought back all the feels 🥰.. lol!
  •  I have had about normal energy yesterday and today. Still nauseous and just threw up while putting the kids to bed but even that is not as severe. I drank a lot of water and I think I just got too full and felt sick.
  • @leahrnmom when I get too full I feel sick. Like one more bite and I'll burst. I'm learning lots of portion control during this pregnancy! (My phone autocorrected pregnancy to oregano lol WHAT?!)
  • I have had a headache for about 48 hours now, any natural remedies
  • @hola_knotties a heating pad around the neck of the neck. (A sock filled with rice works well for this.) Tylenol not working?
  • @wisewitch222 I've been trying to stay away from any medicine... It is probably related to my neck, I've been sleeping on quite an angle trying to help my heartburn. I'll try a heating pad before moving to Tylenol if i really need it.

@hola_knotties Okay, because the Tylenol has been working for my pregnancy headaches (nothing to ibuprofen, though, boo) so if you don't have a particular medical reason for avoiding it, I wouldn't endure a headache. If you are concerned about the recent research that maybe suggested that Tylenol could possibly do something in pregnancy, you should definitely, definitely call your doctor and have a conversation with them about what's right for you and what they recommend.

ETA: Also night stand Tums work great for when heartburn wakes you up in the middle of the night!
  • @wisewitch222 I spoke with my doctor recently and she still 100% recommends Tylenol during pregnancy. But @hola_knotties definitely call your doctor if you’re unsure for you. I find that an ice pack on my forehead helps sometimes too.
I will say, when I had covid, one of my only symptoms was a pounding headache for 2-2.5 days. So if you could have been exposed or if you have any other symptoms, maybe consider getting tested. I hope you feel better soon!
  • 11 w 3 d and the nausea has somehow subdued. However this week has kicked my stomach with indigestion. There have been a few times where the burning sensation was so bad that I had to go into fetal position for a few seconds >.<

Then even at night while I asleep, I will feel it a couple of times. Gaaa!
    Bloating is the same.

@bridgiebee82 Not with cough, but with sneezing. A few times I had the worst pelvic pain.

@bree2022 my nausea also subsided around then and was instantly replaced by indigestion. What a magical time this is. 😅
  • I have found that even before I knew I was pregnant, I was waking up at 2:45am every night. It's so frustrating because I cannot fall back asleep. Anyone else? Any tips? The unisom is not doing anything for me. 😭😴
  • @paytonpedro haha!! Indeed. Has it gotten it better for you? How far along are you now?
I keep waiting for the "baby moon" phase..Just need a break!
  • @bridgiebee82 I def had that in week 4 and a few times last week. Have you tried hypnobirthing or pregnancy meditation right before bedtime? Sometimes I even pass out 5 minutes after starting xD and usually sleep through the night (unless my bladder decides otherwise)
  • @bre2022 I’m 12+1 now and the nausea is almost totally gone, but I’m still gagging at certain smells, the thought of certain things, and brushing my teeth. But I don’t feel that all day sickness anymore. The heartburn is come and go, and I know from previous pregnancies that it’s probably going to hang around my entire pregnancy. I’m very short torsoed and I think that plays into it for me- everything gets pushed so far up.
  • @bridgiebee82 I don't have any suggestions, but know you're not alone. I wake up every single night at 1:50! On the dot.
  • @bridgiebee82 it’s 4 am for me and hit or miss if I can go back to sleep. 🤨
  • @bre2022 I listen to a prayer meditation app every night before I go to bed, and I'm knocked out almost immediately. But I wake up every night. @brittanynmorris and @mdfarmchick I'm glad but also sorry that we can commiserate on this. I guess I'll be getting up that time in the middle of the night soon anyway. Might as well get used to it! 🤪😴
