Sheer exhaustion. Growing people is hard work! I got home from a mentally grueling teaching day and just laid in my bed. I fell asleep for a bit, and I'm still there. It's just nice to be able to rest. I'll be going to bed early tonight too. 😴
Had been feeling pretty good the last 2 days, headache was way better. Then I went to the office today for like 4 hours and now my headache is back full force.
Is anyone else having absolutely ridiculous and vivid dreams? Last night I dreamt I was continually fistfighting a former student of mine. She is the sweetest thing ever, so I have no clue why I'd want to fight her lol it was nuts.
@bridgiebee82 lmao yes! Pregnancy dreams are wild! I’ve had quite a few hostile dreams as well although they’re usually directed at mh who I love but who also drives me nuts. 🙃
@bridgiebee82 no but my husband has been having them the last couple weeks! The other day he woke up and asked me if I took care of the pirates. 🤣 Maybe that's his sympathy symptom 🤪
QUESTION: Is anyone else struggling with painful burps? Since getting seaband and starting b6 and unisome my nausea is pretty much gone but I have horrible gas and I just can't make myself burp, I've never been able to. When I try things like the clockwise rubbing of my belly I'll burp but it's like a shotgun and hurts and makes me heave, sometimes a few times before actually burping. I've thrown up in my mouth a few times now from it. Gas-x isn't doing much and my next appointment isn't for 3 weeks.
@ambelance I was having some trouble with burping, always have. The other night I was so uncomfortable DH burped me like a baby and it worked. It came out gently. Then he gave me ginger rescue tabs from Trader Joe's to chew on to help with nausea.
Today has been rough, I woke up with a migraine but I cannot take my usual migraine medication now that I am pregnant so I had to just tough it out. I am on the tail end of it and reluctantly at work. Not to mention major mood swings are happening. I cried last night because my husband brought me cake and I didn't want it....
Fellow migraine folks- I would love any tips you have that don't include medicine.
@mamamoomoo12 I'm so sorry you're struggling with migraines. There is an acupressure point in between your thumb and forefinger. If you pinch there, it can sometimes help. Also, if you have access to thieves essential oil, but rubbing it on my temples helps. But that was before pregnancy, so I would just diffuse it or smell it.
@mamamoomoo12 I’ll take your cake! I’ve really been wanting some lately, may pick up a slice later actually
I’m sorry about your migraine. I haven’t had migraines but just a constant nagging headache for 2 weeks. It’s terrible! Sometimes a shower helps but usually I just have to go to sleep to get it to go away.
@mamamoomoo12 my doctor recommended magnesium oxide supplements. I've had 3 nasty headaches in the last 6ish weeks, and just ordered some on amazon to try. No update to report, but possibly worth a shot!
@fromfurmomtobabymom8-2 and @mamamoomoo12 I take magnesium glycine (provider's orders) to help stay regular. It also helps with my fibromyalgia pain, so magnesium may also help with the migraine. You may want to try an Epsom salt bath too. Just don't make the water too hot.
@mamamoomoo12 does caffeine help your migraines at all? I usually use that and Tylenol even prepregnancy. I hope you feel better soon and can close your eyes when you get home if you need to.
Ugh, the pregnancy rhinitis!! I'm so mad - I'm not even over the first trimester symptoms yet and now I have a third tri one. Every morning this week I woke up with my mouth all dry from mouth breathing. I think there are some Breathe Right strips in the drawer left over from #2. I'm going to try and find them tonight.

@ambelance no painful burps here but my burps have ramped up 1000x times and very loud, it’s usually when I’m starting to feel nauseous. It’s been a good indicator for me that I need to eat. Big ole burp? Oop. Nauseas coming, better eat.
@wisewitch222 nooo that’s the worst! I’ve had that in several of my pregnancies and it’s gotta be one of my least favorite symptoms. Hope it doesn’t last for you.
@wisewitch222 Me too. I feel like I have the worst allergies, only allergy medicine doesn’t help! And with COVID I feel like everyone is looking at me all side eyed when I sneeze into my mask at the grocery store 🙄
@maggiemadeit I've been sneezing more than I've ever sneezed in my life. Also, I'm feeling better. Don't think it was covid but a normal run of the mill cold that knocked my down for a couple days, but I managed.
Seems like my nausea has gone away! That's good. Still can't eat a ton all at once, but at least the thought of food doesn't make me wanna puke
@and_peggy@maggiemadeit the Breathe Right seemed to help with sleep at least. Then a soon as I took it off this morning my nose immediately filled right up and I had to blow it just like on allergy mornings in the summer 🙄
@wisewitch222 I've also been having ultra dry mouth when I wake up! It's been going on for a few weeks now. I'm partially attributing it to winter (my house is so dry!) but also figured it was a pregnancy thing.
@malloryfrommn for me it's definitely from mouth breathing in my sleep, which is something that normally only happens when I have a really bad cold. Pregnancy induced stuffy runny nose is definitely a thing and is awful. I don't have dry mouth dry mouth, though, thankfully.
Same story, diff day. I haven’t had any bleeding in a week nearly and here we go again. I’m not necessarily worried about it anymore but I’m always going to be bothered by it. I haven’t been coughing much recently. I was really hopeful that nearing the second tri, it would stop. 😭
@and_peggy I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I could imagine how you would feel, every time has to be so nerve wrecking! Hopefully it does stop soon as you get closer and closer to the second tri.
I woke up to some spotting this morning and I’m very freaked out. Spoke with the on-call doctor who said spotting happens in a third of women, which helped some. I’ll be 10w Monday and have my first ultrasound on Tuesday. He said not to worry, not to do too much this weekend, and just hold tight for my ultrasound Tuesday.
Can all you women, more experienced than this FTM, please chime in with more “this is normal” messages like my doctor said?
@and_peggy oh gosh, I'm so sorry. What a mind F is right! I'll be praying for peace for you. @betsummerswilliams I'm a FTM too, and I also had some spotting. I called my OB, and he said it can happen and not to worry. It's when it's a lot that you and baby have to be monitored more closely.
Thank you everyone. I’m sure it’s fine but definitely frustrating.
@betsummerswilliams so I’ve had spotting in every pregnancy around 9 weeks. This pregnancy, I’ve had heavy bleeding since 7 weeks. It had varied from bright red to dark brown, soaking through pads, and sometimes only when I wipe. I’ve also been told that it’s normal. The concern is really when you bleed bright red and have cramping. And even then it’s not a guarantee you’re having a loss - I cramped and had bright red bleeding on Christmas. I’ve had 3 ultrasounds and the baby has been good each time so it really can be normal. But I absolutely get how scary it is.
If you are bleeding red blood through a pad, and having cramping, go to the ER. Otherwise know it could be from anything that has irritated your cervix (recent sex, coughing, throwing up). More serious things could be taking place but your placenta is taking over at this time frame so it could be something to do with that.
I'm 10 weeks today. I just noticed the last 2 days that when I look at the toilet after peeing that the water/liquid is cloudy. Is this normal, or should I be calling my doctor? I read something about amniotic leaks, but it wasn't clear what it looks like. *note: I don't have any UTI symptoms

I'm not sure about amniotic leaks, but I know regularly when your pee is cloudy, it means you could be dehydrated. Maybe call your doctor and see what's up with this.
Also, congrats on 10 weeks! I'll be there tomorrow! We'd love to get to know you better. If you haven't already, please introduce yourself on the Introduction thread. @and_peggy Thank you. I’ve skimmed your recent posts, but really was too scared to read them properly or offer support. I’m very grateful to you for sharing your experiences that ended in healthy babies. I’m sorry you have to cope with the symptoms yourself. It sure is scary. I’ve never been this far along, so I have no clue, and I’m very grateful for you.

I also came to say it could be dehydration. I’ve had cloudy pee and noticed it’s when I haven’t been drinking enough. Haven’t had a uti in years.
@betsummerswilliams this is my 3rd baby (4th pregnancy) and I have had spotting in both of my full term pregnancies, and this pregnancy, that was considered “normal”. My sister experienced the same exact thing that @and_peggy has been describing and her baby turned 1 today! I hope your u/s on Tuesday goes well and I’ll be thinking of you and sending positive vibes until then!!

Apparently I now snore and breath loud at night..

And an ice pack on my head or neck and a hot bath is if it’s really bad.
