@darkrose88 Yes! I have it first thing when I get out of bed and last thing right before going to bed. I've only thrown up a couple times, which I'm thankful for. But it is still very unpleasant.
@laddy12 I like that idea and I might try it out this week!
@darkrose88 def also bothering me more in the evenings, and i'm just waking up 2-3x a night to pee and drink water. our house is so dry right now from blasting heat 24/7 since we've been home 24/7.
Ugh, I'm sorry all you ladies are also experiencing random time of the day nausea. It really stinks and I'm hoping we all feel better once we hit second tri.
Seems like nausea is abating (11 weeks now) but it could be temporary like it was last time. We shall see!
And about teeth... @mangoandguava I have dreams of my teeth being loose or falling out too. Apparently it's all anxiety related which definitely makes sense. I also have dreams where I can't open my mouth. Those suck.
I usually have vivid dreams but last night was WAY more realistic than I've ever experienced before. Slept through my alarm, daughter was late to school, and still feel funky- like part of my brain is still in the dreamworld. Ugh. Soooo disturbing.
@starkette same!!! I took pics at 6 weeks and 12 weeks (this week), and there is a huge difference in my stomach, but the same weight!
Not sure if this is pregnancy related or not, but I've been noticing that my legs/feet fall asleep easily now if my legs are crossed, and my hands/arms when I sleep on my sides. Not the worst thing ever, but just annoying.
Been gagging probably 20 times a day, never vomiting. Body chooses 11.5 weeks to trick me. Was walking out the door to take kids to school and started gagging. And then realized it was going to be more than that, and I threw up into my hands. Fun experience. Only threw up once on the way to the bathroom atleast. Hope this isn’t a thing.
The nausea was fine until this week. Now I’m getting sick a couple times a day. I usually have horrible morning sickness until 19 or 20 weeks and last time, it came back at week 30 which was awful. I hate the nausea. I hate throwing up. And I am so frustrated with my doctor’s office because they are supposed to be putting in the referral for the Bonjesta and it’s been a week and they still haven’t cleared it with my insurance.
@mdfarmchick hopefully they get your nausea meds sorted quick. Have you tried B6 or Unisom? A lot of moms have had success with them. My drs office also is a joke when it comes to insurance stuff. So I feel your pain. I was told I would be offered the maternity 21 blood test then they had me call my insurance company to see if it’s covered (it is) then I had to call back and have my insurance fax over a pre authorization form since they don’t have a “process in place” to request it. 🙄
I have to say, I feel somewhat comforted knowing I'm not the only one miserable with nausea and vomiting right now. No one else in my life understands what I'm going through. Even a majority of peers who have been pregnant described feeling "pretty good" in Tri 1 with just a few aversions. Like, HOW?! I'm barely keeping it together.
@ethancaitlyn10172020 that is a relief! My big toe went numb yesterday after sitting cross-legged, then the rest of my foot followed and I was like whaaaat is going on? lol. Everything is pregnancy related. I should know that by now.
@and_peggy omg that sounds terrible! I've also done the vomit catching with the kiddos but that's next level.
@wigglyicecream yeah I need the time release that Bojesta does because otherwise I can’t function. I took B6 and Unisom just to be able to sleep last night but I am so groggy afterwards. I had to take Bonjesta with my last pregnancy so I think I’m just extra annoyed that they have had a week to straighten it out and they still haven’t. This is the third time submitting the authorization.
@ethancaitlyn10172020 my arms are falling asleep at night too! I didn't correlate it to pregnancy. I just thought, well this is weird that's it happened 5 nights in a row...
Week 10 here, and this has possibly been addressed here already but reading through 7 pages of text makes me feel queasy hahaha Nap nausea! Is anyone else experiencing it? I can sleep the entire night 8-10 hours and wake up feeling fine, no nausea, not crazy hungry (just a really full bladder 🥴) but for some reason if I take a 30min - 1 hour nap, I will wake up and feel the most nauseous I’ve ever felt, even if I just ate. I loved my naps pre-pregnancy, now it feels so good to fall asleep but awful to wake up! Anyone else experiencing this and has tips to help avoid it? 🥲
I haven’t had that problem personally @ashamarie2 but maybe try eating a small snack and drink some water (or maybe even a glass of milk) before you nap? Typically whenever I get nauseous it’s because I need to eat something.

Week 10 hits tomorrow and up until now symptoms have been light. The last two days though my nausea has kicked in. I felt awful, when my husband was cooking dinner last night I gagged at the smell and ran out of the kitchen. I can’t brush my teeth without wanting to vomit. The idea of a grilled cheese sandwich had me feeling the same way.
Adding B6 for the nausea and a probiotic to help with the bloating. Fingers crossed they help!
@coco2787 yeah my nausea seems to hit when I’m hungry, too. Maybe I need to make a more conscious effort to eat right before. It’s just weird though because in the mornings I’m fine, no nausea.. but always always without fail after a nap!
@mrsmeg72 I’m sorry to hear about your nausea, it’s the absolute worst! To touch on the teeth brushing.. is it the taste of the toothpaste? I’ve been having a similar issue and read before that a woman had to switch from a mint kind to the Barbie bubblegum childs toothpaste and that helped 😅 I’ve yet to try it myself though
Anybody who had pre existing back pain notice it’s starting to ramp up? If so how are you finding relief. I dug out my maternity support belt but idk if it’s actually helping or the Tylenol is.
@ethancaitlyn10172020 OMG, I’ve been dealing with random limbs falling asleep! I woke up this morning with pins and needles in my arm, for the third or fourth day in a row. It’s great. 🤣
@ashamarie2 I feel icky after my naps too, but I also feel icky in the afternoons in general. I’m thinking mine might be more dehydration related.
@wigglyicecream yes that’s me! I have herniated discs in my low back. In prior pregnancies, my back started hurting around the time I popped (20/22 weeks & 17ish weeks respectively). So far, I’ve had a couple bouts but it hasn’t lasted too long. Do you know any stretches for your back? Like from pt? That’s usually what I run through when I’m having a hard time. My paper has been through the ringer… but I can send some your way- you just might need to modify them.
@paytonpedro yes I remember them. I’ve been to PT more times than the average person. So quick rundown, I have a herniated disc between L4 and L5. Then I got into a motorcycle accident in 2017 and broke my sacrum and femur and pelvis! So I have 6 screws and rods holding everything together in there. I think I might have tweaked it the other day from not properly bending over ever or lifting correctly. I remember being sore with DD but I don’t remember how much or when it started (funny how brains work)
@wigglyicecream holy moly girlfriend! I’m not a physical therapist but I would recommend starting with that, lightly and modified. And definitely don’t push it/over do it. I hope you feel better soon!!
@paytonpedro thanks! I’ll definitely give it a go and see how I do. Also doesn’t help with the relaxin our bodies are producing and my 3YO that still wants me to pick her up 😅
I’m 12 weeks today, my boobs are hurting, nausea has gone away for the most part. There are times I still feel it but not as bad as weeks prior. Throughout this pregnancy I’ve thrown up maybe 5 times. Usually I swallow something too fast, a bad smell, or my stomach can’t handle what I ate. I feel my energy coming back little by little.. thank god! Of course my sense of smell is on a thousand you’d think I was a hound! Haha is it just me but I smell all bad things? It’s never anything good 😒
@jazz0oh same here with smelling only bad things. Not to say I can’t smell good things, but it seems like my nose picks up the nasty smells easier. Things I used to think smelled good (my fiancé’s body wash) now smell horrible. Also I can smell breath water easier and it’s not pleasant. My toddler or fiancé will be talking to me and I get hit in the face with their breath 🤢
@jazz0oh Oh yeah, my super sniffer is all about the bad smells. Like @wigglyicecream I can smell my children and husband in a not so pleasant way. The bourbon breath on my husband is the worst. The other big culprit is leftovers in the fridge. Even if I just ate the thing and loved it, the smell of it locked up in the fridge is nauseating.
@wigglyicecream I have 5 herniated discs, L4 L5 and S1 being my worst. Over the Christmas holiday I was having such bad back pain that MH would put tiger balm on for me a couple times a day. Then I would do some modified PT stretches. I also have a yoga strap to help stretch out my legs, which helps loosen everything else out.
@bridgiebee82 what is tiger balm? I’m assuming it’s safe to use in pregnancy. It just sucks to finally feel more like a human then my back acts up. So more sitting around trying to get comfortable and less playing with my DD which then makes me feel guilty
@wigglyicecream tiger balm is a pain relief ointment that comes in a tiny jar. It's menthol to help with pain, kind of like biofreeze, but smells better.
@wigglyicecream along the same lines as what @bridgiebee82 suggested, I do use icyhot patches when my back is really acting up, but I don’t know if they’re pregnancy safe.
@ashamarie2 omg, I thought I was the only one. I am also experiencing major nap nausea. I only nap on weekends but whenever I do the outcome is pretty awful.
@mrsmeg72 I'm sorry to hear about your nausea, but I can DEFINITELY relate to the toothbrushing! I'm lucky to get in 30 seconds before I cannot take it anymore and gag. I might take @ashamarie2 advice and try to find a different flavor. I think the mint might be a tad too strong.
@ashamarie2 YES to the nap nausea! Actually, it's just anytime I move after sleeping. I think it's just too much movement after lying still for an extended period of time. I've been trying to wake up slowly. Normally I'm a bounce out of bed kind of person as soon as the alarm goes off. Now, I'll lay there awake for a few minutes, then roll over, then sit up, and then get out of bed in steps! It's quite the process now. I hope it gets better for you!
@jazz0oh yes to eeevrrything smelling bad . My 10 y/o lab has to stay 5 ft away from me at all times (between the farts, horrid breath, and general dog smell). Also my entire kitchen is THE WORST. I can only manage being in there for 10 seconds at a time.
