I finally got my nausea meds thank god! I also found pedialyte zero sugar. so that is making me feel better because all of my favorite flavored waters have been like puke city.
@meagan-firsttimemommy8-22 I can totally relate to smells getting to me now. We have scented garbage bags and just walking by the garbage and where we keep the bags are kept and it is awful. At least I don’t smell the garbage, but that scent on the garbage bags is so strong to me now.
To all the nauseous ladies - I'm sorry for what I'm about to say -- it might be a bit triggering for sensitive tummies.
Last week I was fighting the urge to vomit between meals (empty tummy, no desire to eat anything). The last few days I've just been giving in. I feel SO MUCH better afterwards, even though nothing is really coming up.
If you find yourself hard-core fighting it, just let it happen! It may provide some relief.
@malloryfrommn, omg I wish I could but my reflex is like super strength and I've only ever like 2 x in my life that I can say I remember.. and I've been pg full term once before too. 😅. My h does from time to time and he tells me all about the immediate relief lol
@brittanynmorris Oh yes! I once got nauseous from the scented bags even before getting pregnant. Thankfully the store brand is scentless!😅
Today (6 weeks 4 days) was my turning point from just nausea to both that and vomiting. 😞 I’m wondering who here is nauseous and who has both? I know either way is common. And to those also vomiting, how soon do you try to eat plain crackers/hydrate? Normally I usually would avoid that entirely until feeling a little better, but unlike a stomach bug, I know my nausea won’t be gone tomorrow. Pregnancy is a whole new ballgame. Does anyone with these symptoms have a dinner idea that sounds tolerable to you? We’re hosting friends for dinner on Tuesday, which doesn’t give me a lot of time to figure out what I can and can not tolerate.
@meagan-firsttimemommy8-22 I’m just-nausea, but even with that I can’t think about meals. Luckily I have a husband that can cook easy meals, and if he plans them and goes shopping I can walk him through how to make some dinners. I just can’t go, “I think we’ll have this for dinner tomorrow” because nothing sounds good to me. I can’t imagine having company in this state.
@wisewitch222 I understand that. My nausea was not fun before this either! Sometimes it can be worse that way too. I think I’ll have my husband help prep things so on that day I can kinda just assemble it all. I’m thinking maybe a soup and have it going through the day. And I can skip ingredients if I’m not feeling them. I have Awana I help with once a week (with about 12-20 3-5 year olds in the class,) and I can honestly say I’m dreading that. At least at home, I feel more control. I am having a best friend over on Saturday and maybe I’ll do a chilled spread or something.. She wanted to have a sleepover as we do sometimes, so I had to say I’m busy on Friday and Sunday both so we could only spend one afternoon together. She doesn’t know my busyness is just being sick. Mornings and evenings are just often the hardest.
I don’t know how people do this and work full time!
@malloryfrommn I couldn't agree more! When I fight it, I feel so much worse. I always feel better just letting it happen.
My nausea is persistent, even with meds. It seems to get worse in the middle of eating something. So ready for the cravings to start and this nausea to be a thing of the past.
I'd love to be able to finish a meal. Unless it's something like cereal or oatmeal, after a few bites I'm just done and the thought of eating more makes me want to puke.
@brittanynmorris@meagan-firsttimemommy8-22 Smells are really triggering for my nausea too. My husband gave me some hand creams for Christmas, and I tried one this morning. The scent was so strong that I must have washed my hands 1000x to try to get the smell off 🤢
I’m feeling cold like some other ladies have already mentioned and getting really bad headaches. Anyone else getting headaches? Wondering if it’s a symptom from something else like dehydration.
@niftysky I’ve been getting really bad headaches as well. I’ve been attributing them to all the cedar around here because it’s all in the front of my head and my face hurts, just like when I get sinus headaches. Except they’re never this bad! It’s so miserable and Tylenol doesn’t help much at all.
@niftysky Yes, I’ve been getting them at the same time as my daily nausea kicks in. I feel like I have a hangover every afternoon. I’ve also cut way back on caffeine because coffee doesn’t sound good, I’ve been wondering if mine are caffeine withdrawal?
@niftysky The hard thing with symptoms is that they often have many possible reasons to show up. I thankfully haven’t been having headaches (yet at least,) but they are a super common pregnancy symptom. Thankfully we can take some Tylenol unless doctor says otherwise! I’d suggest drinking water from a container you know the size of and maybe have a post it note by the sink so you can mark a tally every time you refill or finish. It’s hard to keep hydrated enough when feeling nauseous! I’ve been able to get a little additional fluids through organic juice. Pomegranate is likely good for baby’s brain development, Cranberry is good for prevention of UTIs, and Lemonade/Lemon water is good for nausea. I hope your symptoms goes better! Headaches are no fun!
I had a headache for two days, which combined with the upper respiratory symptoms I was having, made me think it was omicron for vaccinated people. It wasn't, so probably pregnancy? Anyway, Tylenol helped.
I have noticed drinking lots of water has helped when I have a headache, so I’m totally attributing mine to dehydration.
@starkette I haven’t been having nose bleeds but when I blow my nose there is always blood in there. It’s super cold (7 degrees F 🥶) where I live and my house is super duper dry. So I'm not sure if it’s more related to that or pregnancy, or just a little bit of both.
Is anyone having mild cramping? I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. No discharge just a mild achey crampy feeling, both sides, also lower backs a bit achey. My hips are also feeling like I exercised but I haven't. I thought RLP but I googled and it seems too early. My mw appt is not for a week.. trying to guage if this is normal
@cas060 my vote is for normal uterus growing pains. If it’s mild and achy I would chalk it up to that. If it becomes sharp or is accompanied by blood I would be more worried. I suggest giving them a call just to ease your mind. FWIW I’ve been feeling a bit more achy myself. And last night had a stomach cramp that I had to remind myself was way to high right now to be uterus cramps
I’m just here to complain. I’m really struggling today. 😭😭 I have been dry heaving since I woke up. Drinking water, laying on the couch, driving, smelling my kitchen(it probably doesn’t smell like anything but ds’s corn dogs), opening the fridge, going to the bathroom. I can’t today 😭😭 I’m almost wishing I would just throw up to make it stop!!
@wigglyicecream, thanks. I'm not too worried, just wondering if anyone else. Seems canada is a bit different, we dont really have a call and check option, just make an appt, atleast that's how it is where I am.
@paytonpedro I can totally relate to you and it is about as miserable as it sounds. I couldn't brush my teeth today for longer than 10 seconds...and then looking at leftovers in the fridge made me dry heave also. I have never thrown up and almost wish I could to make it go away. My thoughts are with you!
Welp. It’s looking like I have covid. I took an at home test and it was positive. I’m going to call my primary tomorrow for an rx to get a pcr (or maybe just go tonight- not entirely sure). I’ve had a headache all day and after I got my son from school I couldn’t shake the chills and shivers, so I took my temp and it was 100.8. Took the test and two lines. Meh. Otherwise I feel fine. No respiratory or sinus symptoms at all. Maybe some low back pain and cramping, but not entirely sure if that’s related. I called the ob and they weren’t concerned at all. Just said to monitor and call back if I feel worse, continue with my already scheduled prenatal care.
@wisewitch222 I’m actually not vaccinated for medical reasons. I have severe allergic reactions to vaccines. But I’m dreading emailing the school and that my kindergartener will be home for ANOTHER week, this time while I’m not feeling all that great. They’re literally already jumping off the walls, and furniture, so this is going to be so… fun.
