Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: will find out this week! NIPT results are due back tomorrow and I have an OB appt later in the week
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a Lemon
Upcoming appointments: Check in later this week with my OB
How are you feeling?: Ok. feeling emotionally better about making it to 13 weeks and having things look decent - although anxiously waiting on NIPT results. Physiclally, i'm less tired but still SO TIRED and my sleep has been pretty poor, even with Unisom. I"m generally less nauseous and able to tolerate more foods- including some veggies here and there - although still puke most nights - the last 2 nights have been puke free though! Yay!
Rants/Raves: slight rant - i always hate the "telling" thing beyond to family and friends- like boss, coworkers, clients, etc. a thing hubby doesn't have to deal with for the most part (besides telling boss at some point to plan for leave). Thankful I work for a woman run, and mostly women employee group, so i don't have job security worries, but it's the one part that sucks about being the child carrier in this scenario
Questions: Anyone else have their gag reflex triggered by brushing teeth at night? most nights lately it is the main thing that causes me to get sick. it doesn't happen in the morning, just at night. I would brush my teeth right after dinner but i usually have to have a snack before bed to also avoid nausea, i just can't seem to win
GTKY: i liked Wonder Weeks with my first for after baby is born. I hated every book I got last time so haven't read anything this time around
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 11.2 weeks !! Due 7/23

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: will find out come week 20! It’s hard to wait!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a lime
Upcoming appointments: Heartbeat test on Jan 11th!
How are you feeling?: awful. lol. Fatigue and nausea dipped and are now back full force again. I’m so grateful to be pregnant but also just want to feel like “me” again.
Rants/Raves: I’m not interested in doing a fancy gender reveal, but my husband really really wants one. I’m curious if I should compromise and just do it? I’d rather find out the gender the two of us and then share with those close to us in fun ways.
Questions: Anyone have a good website or info as to what herbals are safe / unsafe for pregnancy? I seem to find conflicting info on some of them. I’ve been craving an Olipop like crazy these last few weeks, tried drinking regular soda instead and it was awful. Olipop has a couple small quantities of botanicals, I’ve been curious to get some straight information.
GTKY: Right now enjoying Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth! Amazing what we are capable of ❤️
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out! NIPT results should be back next week!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Height is the length of a Bobby Pin
Upcoming appointments: 1/10 OB and maybe NIPT results?
How are you feeling?: Really good. Nausea has subsided, and I saw my passenger dancing on an ultrasound this afternoon. 💃
Rants/Raves: SLEEP IS SO HARD! Going to ask my OB about getting better sleep and also ... (whispers..) constipation 😳
Questions: Peanuts! I've been craving and eating lots of peanuts, peanut butter, etc. Am I putting him/her at risk for a peanut allergy? 😱
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? The Bump?... My OB gave me a book with my first pregnancy appointment that answers 1000 common pregnancy questions. It's thiccc. 😁
@velvetblue88 Try Dulcolax stool softener for constipation. I used it all throughout my last pregnancy and is considered safe. As for peanuts, eat away! It won't increase risk of peanut allergy for little one and has lots of nutritional benefits for your growing little one. I have been eating honey roasted peanuts personally. Yum
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team finding out but won't be able to until the anatomy scan, ugh!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: They are as big as limes - which seems huge!
Upcoming appointments: I had one yesterday to do the NIPT bloodwork and to check in - it ended up being a 2 hour appointment. I go back 2 weeks from now so they can check how my new meds are doing for me - they decided to put me on Zoloft, see below section.
How are you feeling?: Physically I feel fine, considering. I'm nauseous from like 3pm on and try to eat my 3 meals of the day before then. Other than that, some slight cramping and fatigue. Mentally: I have had a few rough rough weeks. We found out at 8 weeks that we are having spontaneous twins. There has not been a set of twins on either side of our family as far back as we can see so we were completely and utterly shocked. MH is excited while I am a mess. I am feeling better this week but it took me a long time to even accept and process that this is happening. A lot changes with the pregnancy (we probably won't be able to deliver at our hospital due to no NICU) and with having 2 newborns at the same time, let alone a BOGO child when you were planning on 2 and done. My type A personality had a breakdown but is back at it trying to find 3rd row vehicles, double PNPs etc.
Rants/Raves: Rave: My almost-5-year-old went back to preschool today! He has been home all week and has the energy of like 25 Tasmanian Devils haha. Another rave is that the twins are di/di which means that they have their own separate everything which, apparently, is the safest way to have them. Rant: I don't want to be back to work. We are also flying to Arizona for a business meeting next week (which is literally across the country for me) and I'm not excited - I don't fly well. I ditched our last trip set for a couple of weeks before Christmas and I'm glad I did - 2 people got COVID. But because I ditched that one, I feel even more obligated to go to this one, ugh.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? I don't really have one. TB was what I found when I was pregnant with my first and it was so helpful because I knew nothing haha! I haven't really branched out from here.
@runnergirl2018 the crappy sleep sucks. I had a couple weeks where it felt like I didn’t sleep at all despite being exhausted and taking unisom. It’s gotten better the past week, so hopefully yours improves too!
@velvetblue88 the constipation sucks! I may have to switch to dulcolax bc colace isn’t helping much. Plus TMI, I’m afraid it will turn into a hemorrhoid.
@jellie603 my 5yo goes back today! I’m so glad the schools here stayed open. My kiddo is still in preschool and I’m not sure she could have done the virtual zoom option at daycare.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12 weeks today! 7/19
FTM/STM/STM+: third time mom
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: team blue until NIPT results come in
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a plum
Upcoming appointments: 1/14
How are you feeling?: I’ve got a cold, the same one my daughter is getting over. I got her Covid tested and into the doctor to get her cleared for school today. So much sickness going around! Luckily, it’s just a sore throat so I generally feel ok. I’m not as tired or sick either! 🥳 TW- I had some more spotting this weekend but was mostly brown blood. Wish this polyp would go away and I could stop worrying.
Rants/Raves: It is freezing cold here in central IL but I’m hoping it kills off some of these germs and maybe it will be less buggy this summer.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? For pregnancy I really liked the bump and the What to Expect app and videos. I watch them with my 5yo. For parenting, I liked the book 123 magic. It’s helped with my strong willed 5yo.
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team blue until NIPT results confirm. Blood draw was exactly one week ago and can't wait to start the shopping and getting the nursery ready!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lime
Upcoming appointments: First appointment with the actual doctor is 1/13, last one was just the nurse.
How are you feeling?: Overall, better than the past several weeks. Nausea is starting to subside and starting to get my energy back. Mild depression is setting in, but that's usual in the winter for me.
Rants/Raves:
Questions: I'm considering asking my doctor to prescribe Zoloft, which I've never tried before. My pcp has tried other meds in the past which helped temporarily but then I always felt worse after awhile. Not currently taking anything. Anyone have experience with Zoloft, during pregnancy or otherwise?
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? I just use the bump for now, but I'm also in a local moms group on FB.
@stardustskies I am also curious about Zoloft - I was just prescribed that yesterday. They gave me the option of either Zoloft or Lexapro and I had no idea so they chose for me. I had been on Wellbutrin in the past but it didn't help much for me.
@jellie603 I live in AZ!! If you have any extra time, I can recommend some cool destinations or even just delicious restaurants ☺️ The weather is a sight better than the rest of the country, so at least you have that to look forward too. Well at least southern AZ.
@velvetblue88 You’re definitely not going to cause a peanut allergy from exposure in the womb.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7/7, 13+5
FTM/STM/STM+: TTM
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Blue! Waiting for full confirmation at anatomy scan
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: lime soon to be orange.
Upcoming appointments: 1/20
How are you feeling?: So much better. Still dealing with nausea off and on. Definitely still dealing with smell issues. Still have some insomnia issues. But everything is improving by miles. I hope by next week this is all a thing of the past. So close to second tri!
Rants/Raves: Rave: I’m eating like a normal person!! Still crave French fries a lot 🤣. But I’m back to normal grocery trips and my normal food wants.
Rant: idk what to do about my maternity clothes. My style has changed since my last baby, and I never loved my maternity clothes anyways. But this is the last baby and buying new clothes for like five months seems really dumb…. Right now I’m trying to fit into my normal clothes until I decide which is not working.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? I like Evidence Based Birth website the most. Lots of easy to read studies and real upfront information without a bunch of opinions. Otherwise, I rely on other moms and my own personal instincts. I’ve never really read any other books or methods or anything. Just online research and mom groups.
Hubby and Me Friends since 2008 Started dating: July 1st, 2013 Engaged: July 1st, 2014 Married: July 1st, 2016 R born: July 8th, 2017 N born: June 30th, 2019 Baby #3 Due: July 7th, 2022 (maybe I only ovulate in October XD)
@tuxielove93 I’m kinda in the same boat as you with maternity clothes. I got some hand-me-downs with DS1 and bought whatever I could find at Goodwill bc we didn’t have the budget for much. With DS2 I bought a few more things but I’ve gone up a size and am not sure much will fit. This is our last baby though so it feels silly to spend much. Though wearing clothes that I’m not confident in really affected my self esteem with past pregnancies

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: lime (though I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lime that’s only an inch and a half long)
Upcoming appointments: tbd
How are you feeling?: Nausea is gone 🙌🏼 except for when I’m really tired. Hungry a lot. And still getting tired easily. Mentally I’m freaking out a bit bc I’m feeling better and haven’t seen little babe yet but I’m just trying to have faith that all is well
Rants/Raves: Feeling like crap from covid today. My husband asked if I was okay with him working. I was like…I’m pregnant, hurt everywhere and we have 2 crazy children, what do you think? 😬 He owns his own company and works from home thankfully.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? I like the app Qeepsake. It’s kind of like a digital baby book
@tuxielove93@melanier26 I went up a size in clothing from my last pregnancy and this is our last one, thankfully nearly all my shirts from last time fit and a few pairs of pants. i got a couple pairs of pants for a really good price from Gap on sale sale, grabbed a few loose sweaters from pink blush at 40% off, and a few long sleeved maternity shirts from target. the sweaters partly because i'm not ready to tell my patients yet and my only other option was to wear sweaters that were tighter around my belly or fitted shirts with cardigans, and although i'm fine for that at home, i wasn't ready for it. I should be set for summer,a lthough may need a couple pairs of shorts, but for me it was worth finding some deals and getting a few things so i am comfortable in my clothes this pregnancy. If youare up for thrifting, that can always work, or checking out hand me downs from other friends
@runnergirl2018 I'm at the point of telling work this week and I have this terrified feeling that shortly after things are going to go south! I have to remind myself that my NIPT results were perfect so I should be smooth sailing. I have a feeling DH is going to wait to tell his work until like, a month before we're due lol. My hope is he at least tells them once the anatomy scan shows everything looks good. Yay for not puking for 2 days! I puked twice last week from a stomach bug and all I could think was how I could never deal with it if it was due to pregnancy and went on for weeks. So not pleasant bleh!
@knottie8b267d85ec2fcfa6 my SIL had asked if we would do a gender reveal. I said nah, we'll just tell them. When we got the NIPT results I sent a gif of a cake being cut to reveal blue frosting inside so she could get some sense of a gender reveal lol. Although really I think she wanted to be the one to know and plan something for us.
@velvetblue88 this is probably not true at all, but there might be some proof that by eating peanut butter or peanuts during pregnancy actually lowers the chance of an allergy. My sister didn't eat any eggs during her pregnancy and my niece has a slight allergy to them (like straight egg, inside baked goods is fine). I've had no interest in eating eggs so far so we'll see I guess for me. And yes, the constipation showed up for me a week or 2 ago too. Ugh. Hilariously I noticed on my last ultrasound report it said they couldn't check on my ovaries due to bowel gas haha.
@jellie603 that is a lot to process! I'd be freaking out about the costs with twins. Just ugggghhhhh!! You have plenty of time to get prepared but you're right that there are so many things that you have to change to be able to accommodate. Good luck!
@sunshineandlemons I don't know many people who haven't gotten sick so far since fall! Colds and covid are rampant. 100% kill off the bugs so it doesn't suck next summer!
@stardustskies I'm always more sluggish in the winter too. Have you tried one of those therapy lamps with the super bright light?
@tuxielove93 I guess if anything you could buy a couple basics for maternity clothes? Like solids or something that could easily work for post-baby. I've also been loving french fries lately
@melanier26 I had the same thought about the lime. Especially after looking at one my sister had. Every other app says the size of a lime a week after TB does.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: July 14 / 12+5
FTM/STM/STM+: FTM
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team blue per NIPT!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: we're as tall as a tennis ball today, although I'm measuring a couple days ahead so we're likely taller than that
Upcoming appointments: 16w appointment on the 27th
How are you feeling?: doing great! Dealing with so. much. sleepiness though. I always start feeling super tired after dinner. I have the occasional dizzy spell then too but that's likely due to the progesterone and/or estrogen I'm on. Weirdly it doesn't cause dizziness in the AM.
Rants/Raves: I'm excited to start seriously putting a registry together! My extended family has been informed of the pregnancy and this is a very weird position to be in. Like I never thought I would get to this point. Rant - I have my ILs constantly tossing out boy names in our family group chat and it's a little obnoxious. I haven't liked a single name they've mentioned.
Questions: How do I not go overboard on the quantities I add to my registry? Like I want to add all the cute crib sheets but like... 10 different patterns for sheets is way too much right??
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? I like that TB give you a new baby fact every day but it sometimes seems so wildly out of order! A couple days ago it said baby could fit on a sugar packet and then the next day it said as tall as a Kit Kat. Are we talking long way or short way on this candy bar? Is it the 2 pack or 4 pack?? The WTE has better articles though and I like that they send me an email with them to read. TB doesn't have that - or does it and I just don't have it set as an email preference? Guess I should check.

@inthewoods23 OMG sometimes I am just baffled by how absent-minded I can be. Definitely going to get it out right now. Thank you for reminding me! Lol

@runnergirl2018 I just told my boss today too. I was so nervous
leading up to it. But I’m so glad I got that off my plate. He was so happy for
us. But it is a pain to have to tell other people though. I don’t gag trying to
brush my teeth (but I do when I try to swallow my prenatal vitamins). I would
honestly just brush my teeth right after dinner, even if you are still planning
on eating a snack. At least they’re getting brushed, and you avoid getting sick
(which can be harmful for your teeth too).
@knottie… (please consider changing your user name so we can
tag you easier and get to know you better). I didn’t want to do a fancy gender
reveal party either. So instead we just got cupcakes for the 2 of us and ate
them together when we got home. Then we took some more cupcakes to my parents
and let them find out that same way. No party, but still special.
@velvetblue88 I’ve been having a hard time sleeping lately
too. For constipation I usually just eat a couple prunes. Handful every other
day helps. As far as the peanuts, I was actually the opposite. I don’t normally
like peanut butter but made it a point to eat it during pregnancy so that LO
was exposed to it… not sure that’s how it works lol, but It was my crazy
thinking. Same thing after he was born too. I ate it more so that he would get
exposed to it through my breast milk.
@jellie603 Oh wow! Spontaneous twins is crazy. Your feelings
are completely valid and I’m glad you took the time you needed to process the
news. I’m also glad you reached out to your doctor about how you’re feeling.
All I can say is deep breath and take 1 day at a time. It’ll be hard but you
will get through it. And they will be the best of friends.
@sunshineandlemons I’m sorry you’re sick. That’s the worst
while pregnant. I’ve been sick over here too and I’m just so ready to be done
with it!
@stardustskies I’m sorry you’re having some mid-winter
depression. I suffer from SAD and always get hit this time of year too. I’m
glad you’re taking the step to make yourself better. I’ve never tried Zoloft
but I think that would be a good option for you. We’re planning a trip to Florida
for mid-February, so that’s been keeping my spirits up this year.
@tuxielove93 So glad to hear that you’re feeling much
better! I hope the trend continues for you. Have you stopped losing weight now?
@melanier26 Men! Are you kidding me?! And then when they get
the man cold they’re completely useless! I’m glad he’s at least working from
home.
@inthewoods23 A boy!!!! I’m soooo excited for you! I know
how hard it was for your guys to lose both your boy embryos, this must feel like
such a blessing. Registries… I say add everything you want right now, then you
can go back and narrow it down later (or not). I based my registry off of a
recommended list. I can’t find it now but I’ll dig for it when the topic comes
up during the product spotlight week.

Upcoming appointments: In 1 week! It’ll be my first OB appointment.
I’ll also be getting my NT scan and hopefully the NIPT drawn too.
How are you feeling?: Last week I was hit with a nasty cold. And it’s
been lingering for what seems like forever! I’ve been so drained from it. I can
sleep 10 hours at night but wake up and still take a 2 hour nap in the morning.
My sleep has taken up so much time that I haven’t been eating/snacking as much.
I actually lost a couple pounds, and my bloat is gone. I’m starting to finally
feel better today. Still have a runny nose, but my energy is slightly back.
Rants/Raves: I told my supervisor today! He was sooooo
excited for us. He even remembered from 3 years ago when I told him about our
infertility and chances of conceiving. He’s retiring in a couple months and I’m
really going to miss him!
With my bloat down
slightly, I’m hoping I can hide this for a couple more weeks so that we can get
the NIPT results back first.

@inthewoods23 lol 10 sheets is probably too many. Maybe 4 tops? That would give you two sets if you do the double sheeting thing. I think the big thing to remember with baby stuff is just how fast they are going to grow out of everything. In a year, at least half the stuff will be useless. By two, it’s all going to be gone and away. For example, most babies start climbing out of cribs between 18 months and two years. So don’t go crazy.
@melanier26 this is my problem!!! I kept complaining to my husband pre-pregnancy that THIS TIME I was going to enjoy my pregnancy and my clothes so help me. And now I’m here and it sucks and I don’t want to spend the money 🤣

@runnergirl2018 I completely agree with you about the process of having to tell coworkers/boss, etc. I was so excited to tell friends and family and now it's to the point of telling people out of obligation. Like I know that the belly will be showing soon so I had to get ahead of it. But I honestly could care less about the reaction of most people I work with! haha. I'm an introvert and tend to be private with colleagues so it's bizarre to just randomly share this hugely personal thing. I've been sharing the news this week so it's a relief to get it over with.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a macaron
Upcoming appointments: I had my first appointment with my midwife today and it went great! She was super friendly and down-to-earth. She was supportive of my vegan diet, which I appreciate. I got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time! It was amazing! And I got to record the sound for my hubby to hear. Going back soon for a blood draw/NIPT test.
How are you feeling?: Less nauseous, which is nice. Now I'm just hungry all the time! I eat a lot of snacks now, and I'm realizing that for some of them I want real food, not snacky things like crackers and hummus or trail mix. I want more filling foods. So working on having those options around.
Rants/Raves: I need more daylight in the day in order to go on a walk after work! I need to get the motivation to do yoga videos instead but it's so easy to just sit on the couch...
The pregnancy is feeling more and more real by the day. It's such an amazing thing to have a human growing inside you.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app?
Upcoming appointments: No more because we have graduated from the fertility clinic and the new clinic (an obgyn) won't let me come to any of the appointments despite my friend/GC and I having a legal agreement saying that I would go to all the ultrasounds. Sigh.
How are you feeling?: Me mentally- sad that I now have to wait for baby to be born to see it moving around in person again. 😞 I'm kinda hoping maybe we can eventually figure something out. My friend physically - says she still kinda feels like shit. But at least her sch is almost gone! Mentally she said it's been kind of hard for her to check in with baby because she's trying to maintain a bit of a disconnect in her mind so she's like "I am auntie. You are not mine." We keep talking about how weird it will be when she gives birth and then is just like "here's your baby!" This is such a strange journey for sure.
Rants/Raves:
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? One book that has helped me get through a lot is called pregnancy after a loss. The author lost her son in almost exactly the same way as I did and in the same week but different year from me. Even though in not physically the pregnant one now, it has definitely still helped me.
@zinnia19 I’m the same way with eating - I’d rather have a bunch of small meals than snacks. We just moved and all have or are recovering from covid so for now I’m eating frozen meals or things like easy mac. Once I’m feeling better and we’re settled a bit more I’ll cook more so leftovers are on hand
@stardustskies I have an android and she has iPhone so we can't FaceTime but may be able to video chat over WhatsApp. She's going to talk to the new dr next week because the policy states "no husbands or partners" but I'm the genetic mother and not a husband or partner so it's a bit of a grey area. I'm sure we'll figure something out. It just makes me sad. Especially since part of the reasoning for me going to all the ultrasounds is because I am in the process of working with a dr/lactation consultant to try to trick my body into lactating naturally without the medical intervention (because if I go on any of the drugs then it's a whole big thing where I will have to be heavily monitored and on blood thinners due to my blood clotting disorder) so we basically have to trick my body into thinking it's pregnant again and it had been starting to work up till now in that I was starting to feel some of the common symptoms.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: poker chip
Upcoming appointments: ob appt tomorrow and sono next week
How are you feeling?: a lot better. Still some nausea here or there, but not constant, acid reflux/heartburn, fatigue
Rants/Raves: one annoying thing is my regular clothes being too tight, but also too small for maternity clothes. I never liked those belly bands so I’m just wearing loose clothing for now or living in active wear which is really no different from non-pregnancy lol
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? I’m using Ovia app.
@peppylilfoxy are you willing to switch OBs? Not all of them are refusing to let anyone else come to appointments.
Also, could you do some elective ultrasounds?
That’s so awesome you are trying to lactate! I’ve heard a few success stories, I really hope it works for you!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: lime
Upcoming appointments: 12 week ultrasound next Wednesday
How are you feeling?: Slowly starting to get over the first trimester nausea but it still makes an unwelcome appearance now and then!
Rants/Raves: We have been switched to remote learning for the next two weeks due to omicron surge. This is both a rant and a rave because UGH online learning, but it has been difficult getting a booster appt here and I just finally got one last night. I am thankful that by the time I go back in person with my students I will at least have the additional protection of a booster!
Questions: No question, just a comment - I have been away from my computer for a bit on Xmas holidays so that is why I haven't been as chatty lately! I find the mobile app a little annoying so I tend to log in to this website when I am taking a break from marking on my planning periods
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? Oh wow - um not a book but I am in a couple of Gentle Parenting groups on facebook and one called "The Beyond Sleep Training Project" which I found incredibly helpful with my son. He was a nightmare sleeper - literally did not sleep through the night regularly until he was 2.5 yrs old but that's another story! After trying everything and nothing working, I found that group really supportive for those of us suffering sleep deprivation into the toddler years. This time every day I say that all I am hoping for a healthy, sleepy baby! lol wish me luck
I need to come back later today for comments/tags, but I've been terrible at checking in.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: According to the millennial chart, baby is the size of a jelly donut hole.
Upcoming appointments: I actually just had my NT scan today. It was nice to see baby wiggling around in there.
How are you feeling?: better. My nausea seems to be easing up, though I still have a generalized food aversion. Headaches are sort of under control thanks to some tips from you wonderful ladies. Still crazy tired, but I'll take what I can get.
Rants/Raves: not really any I guess. It's been a pretty chill couple of weeks. Work is about to explode and get crazy busy, so I'm sure I'll have a few rants when all of that ramps up.
Questions: NATM.
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? It gets mixed reviews, but I really actually liked Bringing Up Bebe and plan on revisiting it to refresh my memory for this baby. @zinnia19 i'm so with you. I work in an office of about 20 people but there's only 1 other person in my office that i only see once a week and everyone else is at a different location and i only see on our weekly video calls. Glad to have told my boss and planning on telling everyone else next week but still feels weird
@courtneyqdk I love that FB group too! I can't remember if i'm still in it, but definitely found it helpful too.

Upcoming appointments: 1/20 just a normal monthly check up. Then I think the next appointment will be the anatomy scan already!
How are you feeling?: Not great, nausea is bad, heartburn is bad, and I've been exhausted.
Rants/Raves: A TV network might want to feature our house on their new series. I doubt it'll happen, but it's cool that they think our house has as much potential as we do!
Questions: I don't really have any.
GTKY: What's your favorite pregnancy/parenting book or app? I think I only have The Bump app this time.
@tuxielove93 sadly there's only one main "high risk" clinic in the city she's in so switching isn't possible and I'm not sure if elective ultrasounds are a thing here in Canada... Any Canadians ever heard of/done elective ultrasounds here? I always just went for whatever the dr ordered.
And yeah, I'm hoping the lactation happens because I have lactated before so I think my body just needs to remember. Actually, I was really mad when I found out there are drugs that can help stop lactation when you lose a child. No doctor ever told me about it when we lost our son and I had to dry up naturally. It was sooooooooo painful.
@peppylilfoxy - yes we do! Fellow "middle of nowhere" Canadian (who also mentioned RWB before 🤔🤔) is it possible we are in the same city? For all my pregnancies I've gone to a place called 'Baby Moon' for a few private ultrasounds! Good luck!
@peppylilfoxy I really hope they’re able to make an
exception for you guys. If not, you could always facetime via the FB messenger app.
It’s what I always use to use when traveling, even before zoom and whatsapp. I
love that you’re trying to trick your body into lactating. Do you take any
hormones to help with that?
@zwink1 I’m glad your headaches are getting under control. Have
you had your iron or thyroid checked recently? Those could be contributing to
your tiredness too. I’m planning on asking to have mine checked next week. My
iron was low with my first, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were again.
@thegeekymom Oooh. That sounds exciting about the TV
network. What is unique/special about your house??? Can you share some
pictures?

@LJMoon6 not necessarily... there are people who have taken estrogen or progesterone but I'm trying to avoid having to take any hormones because of my blood clotting disorder. Increased amounts of estrogen can increase my risk of clotting. Though I may have to eventually try it because I also have Hashimoto's which can mess with triggering lactation.
I now have the best "rave" ever! My husband works for US Bank and they just extended their secondary parent leave from 4 weeks to 10!! I was so happy I cried! (well i cry at almost anything these days so maybe that doesnt mean much, but still yey!!)

Re: Weekly Check In -w/o 1/3

@runnergirl2018 I just told my boss today too. I was so nervous leading up to it. But I’m so glad I got that off my plate. He was so happy for us. But it is a pain to have to tell other people though. I don’t gag trying to brush my teeth (but I do when I try to swallow my prenatal vitamins). I would honestly just brush my teeth right after dinner, even if you are still planning on eating a snack. At least they’re getting brushed, and you avoid getting sick (which can be harmful for your teeth too).
@knottie… (please consider changing your user name so we can tag you easier and get to know you better). I didn’t want to do a fancy gender reveal party either. So instead we just got cupcakes for the 2 of us and ate them together when we got home. Then we took some more cupcakes to my parents and let them find out that same way. No party, but still special.
@velvetblue88 I’ve been having a hard time sleeping lately too. For constipation I usually just eat a couple prunes. Handful every other day helps. As far as the peanuts, I was actually the opposite. I don’t normally like peanut butter but made it a point to eat it during pregnancy so that LO was exposed to it… not sure that’s how it works lol, but It was my crazy thinking. Same thing after he was born too. I ate it more so that he would get exposed to it through my breast milk.
@jellie603 Oh wow! Spontaneous twins is crazy. Your feelings are completely valid and I’m glad you took the time you needed to process the news. I’m also glad you reached out to your doctor about how you’re feeling. All I can say is deep breath and take 1 day at a time. It’ll be hard but you will get through it. And they will be the best of friends.
@sunshineandlemons I’m sorry you’re sick. That’s the worst while pregnant. I’ve been sick over here too and I’m just so ready to be done with it!
@stardustskies I’m sorry you’re having some mid-winter depression. I suffer from SAD and always get hit this time of year too. I’m glad you’re taking the step to make yourself better. I’ve never tried Zoloft but I think that would be a good option for you. We’re planning a trip to Florida for mid-February, so that’s been keeping my spirits up this year.
@tuxielove93 So glad to hear that you’re feeling much better! I hope the trend continues for you. Have you stopped losing weight now?
@melanier26 Men! Are you kidding me?! And then when they get the man cold they’re completely useless! I’m glad he’s at least working from home.
@inthewoods23 A boy!!!! I’m soooo excited for you! I know how hard it was for your guys to lose both your boy embryos, this must feel like such a blessing. Registries… I say add everything you want right now, then you can go back and narrow it down later (or not). I based my registry off of a recommended list. I can’t find it now but I’ll dig for it when the topic comes up during the product spotlight week.

How are you feeling?: Last week I was hit with a nasty cold. And it’s been lingering for what seems like forever! I’ve been so drained from it. I can sleep 10 hours at night but wake up and still take a 2 hour nap in the morning. My sleep has taken up so much time that I haven’t been eating/snacking as much. I actually lost a couple pounds, and my bloat is gone. I’m starting to finally feel better today. Still have a runny nose, but my energy is slightly back.
Rants/Raves: I told my supervisor today! He was sooooo excited for us. He even remembered from 3 years ago when I told him about our infertility and chances of conceiving. He’s retiring in a couple months and I’m really going to miss him!
With my bloat down slightly, I’m hoping I can hide this for a couple more weeks so that we can get the NIPT results back first.

@peppylilfoxy look into the Google Duo app - should be standard on andriod and an iphone user can download it - it's what we use for video chatting
@peppylilfoxy I really hope they’re able to make an exception for you guys. If not, you could always facetime via the FB messenger app. It’s what I always use to use when traveling, even before zoom and whatsapp. I love that you’re trying to trick your body into lactating. Do you take any hormones to help with that?
@zwink1 I’m glad your headaches are getting under control. Have you had your iron or thyroid checked recently? Those could be contributing to your tiredness too. I’m planning on asking to have mine checked next week. My iron was low with my first, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were again.
@thegeekymom Oooh. That sounds exciting about the TV network. What is unique/special about your house??? Can you share some pictures?
