Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Weekend 1/1/2022 New Year's edition!

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

History
I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.
Began TTC in Aug '18 @ age 35
5 or 6 (or 7?!) cycles using frozen donor sperm, ICI. All BFN
Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan,I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.30), FSH high albeit not catastrophic at 13.2. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.
Feb '21, injectables (menopur, novarel), iui, BFN (doc said the frozen donor sperm sample had the "best numbers she'd ever seen!")
Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles, converted to at home-insem. BFN
May '21, first IVF round cancelled due to cyst.
July '21 IVF: standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 7; 6 days of stims. 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast. 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. PGT-A results all abnormal.
Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow.
Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal.
Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen.
Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized.
From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos!
Jan 20, Fully medicated FET, baby aspirin, dexamethasone, acupuncture, and as much woo as I can stand (which isn't very much). BFN.
July 23, Natural FET + baby aspirin. BFN.

WAYDTGKU: benched this cycle yay covid, retry IUI/letrozole next

R/R: I have no idea if I've ovulated or not because I haven't tracked all week, yay covid right at O time! We've just accepted that we're benched this cycle because my doctor recommended isolating the full 10 days, and my husband's test, by some miracle, came back negative, so we don't want to risk me giving it to him. So next cycle will be attempt #2 at Cycle 13. Just going to work on overall health in the meantime. I guess at least this gives his motility supplements even more time to work, so the IUI is more likely to succeed, right?

CS/Q: haven't tracked in a week so nope. Going to restart temping tomorrow though and see if I can at least catch CD1's approach.

  • @fantasyflyte ugh how annoying! I hate how Covid seems to effect everything 😭 I say the IUI needs to be successful just for the anguish of having to push it back this month!

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD: 14

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPK

R/R: you all will get used to my weather complaints! Seriously… we have had so many full days of dense fog, and now tonight into tomorrow night we are getting snow and ice. Why does this happen on non school days? Lol! I need a snow day! Pajamas, hot chocolate, and Netflix. Mother Nature owes us big time for this disaster of a winter break.

CS/Q: none… just waiting on O. Should be in the next few days.
  • Well, I'm back a lot sooner than I expected to be. I Hope it's okay to post here today.

@fantasyflyte I'm so sorry your dealing with Covid. That's a tough thing to deal with especially around the holidays.

@ejoseph I know how that goes. It seems like winter weather always strikes when you don't want it to. After it being 80 degrees here all through Christmas and New Years, it's finally dropped to the 20s overnight. Texas weather is so crazy sometimes.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 2?

    WAYDTGKU: Benched for now

    R/R:

    TW: miscarriage

So, the reason I disappeared for a little while is because I got a faint positive on Christmas. Actually four faint positives because I couldn't stop testing just to make sure. It was the best Christmas surprise I could have asked for. I tested further along in the week and finally got my BFP.
Yesterday is when I noticed the bleeding. MH and I went to the ER and the urine test they did came back negative. They did a pelvic exam and confirmed the miscarriage. I spent all of last night with excruciating cramps and now here I am back at square one.
Is it odd to say that I feel a little bit of a sense of relief? For some reason, I just had the feeling that something was wrong throughout my brief one week of pregnancy. I was scared to get too excited about it. Now that what I feared has come true, I'm free of all that worry and I have some closure. I'm still terribly disappointed, but I feel like I'm handling it a lot better than I thought I would.
I'm still not ready to get back in to trying. I'm just mentally and physically exhausted. I'm not ready to go through all this all over again. I think MH are going to hold off for a couple months, but I will still be lurking here wishing everyone else well on their ttc journey.

  • *lurking* @katrielle so sorry you're back here. sometimes when this board is a little more hopping we do a benched thread but it's been probably a little too quiet to sustain that. nevertheless, please feel free to hang around here and keep us company from the bench!

  • @katrielle I’m so sorry for what you’re going through… tw: miscarriage and LO mentioned

I went through exactly what you are at exactly the same point in my journey for our first. I knew from the BFP that I was going to miscarry. And I did. Take time for yourself and give yourself healing time. I’m still terrified to go through another MC for our journey to our second because it was so painful. Please make sure you heal emotionally as well as physically before you start trying again. But please also stick around!

I am also benched currently, but tracking and DTD as if we were trying. We are building a house and won’t start TTC until the dig, which we could get a call at any time will happen with very little notice. So please stick around! Enough of us have been through it and it can help your healing to talk to others that have been through it! Creepy stranger hugs ❤️

  • @optimistgardener Thanks and I'll keep an eye out for the benched thread.

@ejoseph16 thank you. I would not wish this on anyone, but it does help to know that I'm not alone. I will definitely be sticking around and cheering everyone else on.
  • @katrielle feel free to inbox me if you need to. I’ve always been 100% open to talk to others going through something similar.
