Re: January Symptom Thread

  • All the nausea, every time I stand. Finally today I made my spouse go to the grocery store (I normally do 100% of the shopping and 85% of the cooking) because I wanted New Years food (kielbasa, pierogies, and saurkraut - yes I'm in Pennsylvania) and nausea relief. He brought back Sea Bands and ginger candies and ginger capsules I'll have to check with my doctor about first, but I'm feeling a little relief from the bands and the candies! Now time to make New Years food.

The nausea is coming fast and furious and my boobs are in immense pain.

  • My lips are crazy chapped! Metallic taste from yesterday hasn’t shown up yet today though.
  • @itsme215 My lips and skin are so dry. My lips actually hurt. I’m drinking so much water and moisturizing but nothing is helping.

Also, I look totally normal every morning when I wake up, and by the time I go to bed I look ~16 weeks pregnant. So. Bloated. Ugh.
  • Whenever my son or dogs jump on me my boobs scream. Had some nausea but once i eat something and ginger up it’s not so bad. It also helps when I’m distracted by errands or something. Fatigue has led me to naps with a very attractive string of drool falling out of my mouth.
  • Nausea, phantom let down, fatigue, and I sometimes get that nasty taste in my mouth. I also get what I only describe as bubbly spit, which then makes me nauseous. Also TMI constipation. I need to call the dr and see how much Colace I can start taking.
  • What is phantom let down?
  • I'm chalking it up to this being harder with a toddler running around...so tired. Way more nauseous than last time, but I can't figure out how to address it other than laying down and letting dad chase the toddler. Ughhh. Is it second tri yet?
  • So. Much. Nausea.
  • @Katek819 the let down reflex is the sensation you get before you start to express milk, after you deliver and your milk comes in. I’m calling it phantom bc there’s no milk coming out but the sensation still happens.
  • I'm feeling so full in the upper stomach area... maybe I should call that a phantom sensation. Baby is defintely way too low for any of this non sense yet.

Also, so nauseous... from just before lunch til I go to bed. So thankful I wfh still .

  • I’ve not thrown up yet but so much nausea. Couple times a day my gag reflex is just out of control. So exhausted, which is normal because hello, mom of 4, but this is insane.

And oh yeah, I look like 20 weeks pregnant. Only 2 more weeks until my next appointment and I’ll finally feel okay to tell the family and can stop hiding my belly.

  • I'm 6w3d... Yesterday I took like a 3 hour nap and when I woke up my boobs werent sore for the first time in almost 3 weeks. Needless to say i freaked out. So yeah, rollercoaster of emotions. Now that they hurt again and I've had a bit of time to process, i think i was so well rested that my symptoms actually went away for a few hours. Can you tell this is my first pregnancy?
  • Ugh yesterday at work I was the resource nurse for a few hours. With that I go to all the codes, and traumas. Well I went to a trauma that wasn't even that bad and I had to leave to go puke. Then I didn't get to eat lunch because I was so busy, so in the parking garage I puked like 6 times. Had to stop driving puke, drive more puke, then had to park and puke. Omg
     It was terrible.
  • @starkette there's hope for us yet!!!
  • Don't worry if symptoms come and go. HcG stays in the body a long time **TW** even after a loss and symptoms can remain for weeks after, they did for me at least.*** So just go day by day, your body will change as baby grows and the HcG levels increase and then peek. Boobs may be more sore at night or in the morning, nausea will ebb and flow, bloatiness will be worse during part of the day or better after exercise or a good poop. lol.

I'm annoyed with my skin right now. It's breaking out like crazy. So after my second daughter was born, I broke out for months afterward. I've never had skin issues so I knew it was hormone related. I think this may be my new normal for pregnancy/birth. Dry, itchy, pimply skin. Hurray! Oh well, I'll take it if it means I get to be pregnant.
  • @starkette omg my entire face, neck and chest are broken out. It is horrible! I feel like a teenager again it is so bad.

All day morning sickness is killing me. I'm taking B6 + benadryl at night, pink stork sweets +tums during the day. It only seems to relieve symptoms temporarily not actually resolve it. 🤷‍♀️ at this point I've given up and accepted I'm not going to feel good anytime soon.
  • The Sea Bands are helping me with the all day nausea. They get it to a point where I can function (i.e. do something other than lie on the couch all day), even if they don't fully take the nausea away. I hope I start feeling better before I have to teach in a week.
  • @leahrnmom oh my goodness! That sounds absolutely horrible! Like, my literal worst nightmare right now. Hope you are feeling better after some rest and a meal. You nurses are rockstars!
  • @malloryfrommn it was my worst nightmare also. Lol I probably wouldn't have been so bad had I eaten a meal but I had a cherry Danish while charting for lunch.
  • @and_peggy good so it’s normal to be more tired with 3 other kids running around? Cuz I don’t remember being this tired and nauseous with the first 3😜 I’m a Sahm and my 8 & 5 yr old have basically been watching my 2 yr old cuz it’s so bad 😴🤢
  • I’m currently 8 weeks and my breasts are no longer sore (which is concerning me a bit) and tonight I started getting a tenderness to the touch in my lower abdominal area. I’m trying really hard to ignore it unless it gets worse but I am so in tune with every little ache and pain that it’s so HARD.

Also been dealing with a nasty head cold this week and the congestion is making it impossible to sleep. I’m so nervous that my health is going to have an impact on the baby…
  • 8 weeks, my boobs are super sore and the nausea is insane. My first pregnancy I had zero nausea so this is completely new to me. It's really been bad the past 2 weeks, not sure how I'm gonna get through the work days!
  • @mama_bear30 the 5 year old has been playing mom. I’m so sad for her to go back to school this week😆

  • @maggiemadeit right there with you! My husband was looking at my belly and said "you are showing already!". I told him it was just bloating;  I look normal in the mornings!
  • (Hope I don't jinx myself) all-day nausea is gone. Only comes back if I'm hungry. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow; wondering if it will come back in waves.

My breast are so sore when I wake up and whenever my pups lean on them... ooph!! Bloating has me looking 15 weeks pregnant.

I'm still waiting for my first prenatal on the 10th and can't wait to know that everything is ok ❤
  • Ravenous! Only 7 weeks and wanting to constantly eat...
  • I was just going to post the same. I’m 6 weeks and already feel like i get hungry faster. Bananas seem to be a good choice. I can’t find my favorite ginger snaps.
  • I am 7w4d and I’m feeling super nauseous basically all day, but also hungry somehow? Actually my only relief is right after I eat something and then I am nauseous again shortly after that. The best way I can describe it is a perpetual hangover. My boobs are also huge and sore, and I am bloated. I also started getting acne. In my last pregnancy my nausea subsided around week 10 so I am hopeful it is the same this time.
  • @buffythevampireslayer fingers crossed for both of us. My pregnancy with my daughter tricked me. I had almost no aversions except to coffee and very little nausea. Not the case this time
  • I have had nausea since about week 7 and I'm on week 9 now. It helps if I eat something or do something but I'm also super tired so it's hard to do stuff. For me, the nausea kind of feels like when you are anxious or nervous and have that sick feeling in your stomach.

I go back to work tomorrow for the first time since before Chrismtas and wondering how I will make it through the day without a nap! Lol also very bloated, sore boobies, and constipated.
  • 9 weeks and nausea is down a lot but when I'm hungry it rears it's ugly head, same as @bre2022. My boobs aren't as painful but I get sharp stabby pains at night sometimes. Had a weird twinge in my lower abdomen last night but I think it was just gas? It's gone today so....I dunno.
  • Anyone just not really have an appetite? Not related to morning sickness or anything because I haven’t had much of that at all somehow, I just haven’t been that hungry the past few days. It’s a chore to eat, especially in the morning. No specific aversions, just a general aversion to being hungry haha
  • @itsme215 that was me the first two weeks or so (5/6 weeks along). No appetite. Now I'm ravenous all the time.
  • @starkette haha I’m totally the opposite. I wanted to eat all the things at all the times in weeks 5 and 6 but now I’m in week 8 and like “ehhh I should probably eat something I guesss”
  • Well.

MH just got us lunch, which was SO good and I literally threw it all up two seconds later. I'm so sad. I feel fine! I don't know why my body noped out so fast. Not nauseous at all. WTF?!
  • Hi! This is my first pregnancy. I am at 6.3 weeks today. I see all the replys with everyone having symptoms. I don’t really have symptoms yet…anyone else like me? It is hard not to worry!
