I could easily chow through a whole package of Andes mints haha. They've been refreshing lately

I haven't been having any vomiting but just barely-there nausea constantly. Nothing really sounds good except for fast food. Which sucks because I was really hoping to eat healthy this pregnancy. Just hoping the nausea goes away soon because I can't keep eating tacos and mac & cheese lol
@zinnia19 omg I’m a grape fiend right now! It’s my last stand food that I can eat first thing in the morning and when the nausea has gone too far.
Warm soft pretzels with lots of salt and PB sandwiches are my go to. Everything else is a come and go. It’s getting better but I’m not there yet. Everything I tried to eat for dinner tonight was just not happening

Oranges and breaded chicken strips. And sparkling water w tons of lime. I’m jealous of a lot of your foods I am having a very hard time finding anything appetizing
My nausea just subsided a few days ago at about 10 weeks and I now want to eat everything. Especially anything spicy. My husband made lentil soup today and I put a ton of sriracha in it. I’ve been dying for sweet potato, roasted whole in the oven so I can eat it with a spoon. I Also need OJ. Peanut butter and apples. omg I’m starving now.
@sunshineandlemons@binxybaby can y’all explain the puppy chow? Is it an urge for that particular brand or just small kibble in general. How do you feel?
@binxybaby 🤣🤣 Surprisingly just pregnancy. I don’t do a ton of sweets when I’m not pregnant because I’m a salty girl. I actually was surprised to really want this because I’d been wanting more of those savory things.
@msspoon12 lol in the Midwest where I’m from we call Chex Muddy Buddies “puppy chow”. It’s melted chocolate and peanut butter coating Chex cereal with a powdered sugar coating.
Does anyone know why we in the Midwest even call it that??

@inthewoods23 Who knows, but I like to think puppy chow is the original name and those non-Midwesters had to come up with muddy buddies. This deliciousness had to be invented by Midwesterners, right??
Also, sorry @msspoon12! You probably thought we were crazy!
@stardustskies I used to make it all the time when I was in middle/high school. If I have a big craving, I'll buy it, but still try to make it a couple times a year.
@sjb2215 I agree! Homemade is way better than the store bought stuff (at least the Chex brand). We have a couple grocery stores here (Hy-Vee and Jewel) that make it and it’s just as good as homemade. Like it’s all pieces with tons of chocolate and PB on them- no junky pieces of cereal with just powdered sugar. 😆 I bought some at the grocery store last night because it looked so good. It was $8!!! So, definitely not something I do all the time.
I just made a delicious batch of butter chicken. Between morning sickness and a stomach bug that’s lurking in our friends group, I really hope I don’t come to regret this 😬😂😭
The true benefit of homemade is that you can get the big chunks that stick together and that's like an extra special treat inside an already delicious treat. I may need to make some soon...
I’ve been craving the original chicken sandwich from Wendy’s, though unfortunately when I had it the other day I ended up feeling terrible afterwards 🤢 Other than that I crave lunchmeat. I’m pretty sure it’s a mental thing bc it’s happened early in all of my pregnancies - since it’s a “no-no” I want it! It’s obviously not healthy due to the sodium but my dr said it’s safe as long as it’s heated to kill any listeria. So I’ve been eating a lot more hoagies (or subs, whatever you call them) lately!
@melanier26 I could only eat deli ham for two or so days there. I’m was so sick and unable to eat I really couldn’t not eat what sounded good, so I just microwaved the crap out of it. Can confirm I am alive and well

Puppy chow sounds delicious! This Canadian has never tried it, but I might have to make some this year. Maybe I'll give it out at Xmas and that will be my excuse for making a big batch! As for me, everything tastes terrible. I have been living on crackers...toast, bananas. Very boring food. I had my husband buy some ginger ale and that is helping me survive the workday and curb the nausea a bit. Countdown for first trimester to be over is on, I am so sick of this and I miss food!
Somebody brought in a couple chocolates to the office so I grabbed a milk chocolate Lindor truffle and a Ghirardelli milk chocolate with caramel square and now I have to try really hard not to eat all of them 🥲

My family has always called puppy chow, white trash. I have no idea why it’s just what we have always called it. I tried the muddy buddies one time and was super let down. We only make them at Christmas time, I bought all the stuff for it in the grocery store except the Chex because they didn’t have any so that’s on my list to get. My mom adds raisins and peanuts to hers but I keep mine with just the cereal.
My cravings are weird because I will be craving something and then when I actually get it I can only eat a bit of it then I feel sick. I am hoping the nausea subsides in the next few weeks. The food aversions are too real lol.
@sunshineandlemons ooooh Hyvee! Those good grocery stores are the one thing I actually miss from living (for a very short time) in Iowa.
That being said, I grew up in south central PA and we always called them Muddy Buddies. Either way, they are delicious! But right now I cannot deal with extra sugar so I guess I'll have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy them.
You guyssssss...I actually wanted and ate a salad tonight! Normally I have a pregnancy long aversion to veggies with high water content, but tonight I was like "nope, gimme that grilled chicken salad!" And it was good.
@twentythree19. Yay on vegetables! I haven’t been able to stomach anything green for like 2 months, and today I demanded a spinach salad at lunch and actually ate all of it! Amazing new world.
My non pregnant self is def not a vegetarian but I haven’t been able to handle the idea of any meat or fish for weeks. Ugh! Trying to get protein elsewhere till this one fades
Big mad over here that covid killed my sense of smell and taste. Fully recovered now other than that. Guess it's grilled chicken salads for me for the next 7 months (or until I can taste again). No point in wasting the calories on anything else! 😩
I haven’t had aversions/nausea (until today), but I’ve had a series of cravings, never for more than one meal though. Crab rangoons, a lobster roll, bacon, grilled cheese w/ tomato soup, fries - of course nothing healthy. Also things I rarely eat. Get ridiculous because I almost cried when I tried to order a lobster roll from one restaurant, and they were too busy to take pickup orders. Luckily another place could help me out, and it took care of the craving.
I spent a good amount of money on the frozen food section at the Trader Joe's yesterday. Got some veggie fried rice, Orange chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Kung Pao Cauliflower, Veggie potsickers, oh and so much more...It's going to be a good weekend 😋
@babydex2mama I usually try to avoid frozen meals but during the first trimester they’re so great to have. I tend to forget that a handful of pretzels or an apple doesn’t suffice as a snack for me while pregnant and a lot of days I don’t eat enough, which results in me feeling terrible. Frozen meals help with that for me
All I've eaten today is two bagels and a banana. I am struggling to find food that I even remotely want to eat. Haven't lost weight bc all I can eat are bagels and toast and breads. I'm thinking maybe I'll try to find some fried rice tonight. I think I could do that.
Anything with Cheese. Pizza. Peanut butter. Cereal and banana (omg pb rice Chex with chia seeds and banana) Orange juice. Anything spicy. Gosh I love eating.
Daily Harvest smoothies for fruit and veg intake without feeling nausea. Babybell cheese, cottage cheese on Wasia crackers, Whole Foods fudgesicles, pears, a gallon of water with splash of pomegranate juice for flavor, scrambled eggs with truffle salt. And, of course, the foot that always seems to be in my mouth 😂
Christmas dinner (which I mostly planned the meal) had a ton of veggies. They just sounded so good, so we had roasted carrots, broccoli, brussel sprouts and potatoes. Unfortunately, prime rib was not appealing this year. 😢
@sunshineandlemons same here! Lots if veggies last night. Especially after eating so much sugar this time of year and I craving green veggies and citrus, in particular.
@sunshineandlemons Meat and me have not been friends either. Seafood has been ok though.
