Re: Randoms WO Nov 29

  • Not anything novel or earth shattering, but I have an ever ending pile of laundry that I never seem to have the energy to get through. And a simultaneous nesting urge to reorganize all of my clothes 🤣
  • Loading the player...
  • I move from the bed to the couch and then back to the bed.  Also change from my night pajamas to my day pajamas....bedrest is thrilling.  All the holiday decor is up so at least the view is nice.
Drop any book or binge watching recommendations!
  • @Nik102
You’re a real trooper, I hope all continues to go okay with your bed rest.

As for what’s up over here:
DS has his 18 month checkup tomorrow so I’m hopeful his pediatrician will feel he’s developing on track. I feel like I’ve been failing him lately since I used to get on the floor with him a lot during playtime before I was pregnant and now I can only do it in small doses because of round ligament pain and just a more difficult time getting up from down there in general. I also worry I haven’t taught him enough things for his age due to being so tired all the time. I’m trying, but always wonder if I could be doing more.

On another note, the wardrobe we were supposed to get from my grandmother for the baby’s room didn’t work out, so now we’re on the lookout for another armoire/ wardrobe whenever we can save up enough for one.
I constantly worry we won’t have baby girl’s room ready in time, it feels like there’s so much to do and third trimester is coming up so soon. Haha.

  • My goal is to try and get at least some of the nursery painted this week… it’s taken me two and a half days to get things taped up. But I’m just always so tired when DS goes to bed I never want to do anything.
  • @faithmovesmountains I worry about the same for DS’s approaching 18 month visit in January. He’s perfect in my eyes, of course, but I worry about his limited vocab and the fact he still doesn’t wave (he claps, high fives, but just has no interest in waving).
  • @jenis_fan_for_life the laundry here never ends here, too. That and the dishwasher!
@Nik102 yay for holiday decor being up! As for TV shows, have you seen Ozark, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ted Lasso, and Happy Endings! I'll have to think of more.

Talked to DH about asking me if I want anything from the nearby coffee shop. He now asks me every time he goes! :)

I've been scouring FB mom groups/Buy Nothing groups for anything that we can use for the twins. I scored a great deal on a twin bassinet and getting an infant car seat for free! Probably my best Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal I've gotten.
  • @rachelredhead DD1 was talking like an adult, like full sentences with very advanced vocabulary by 18 months. DD2 only made a few animal noises by that age 🤣 It wasn't until around 27 months that she really started talking etc. I was worried because she was SOOOOO different developmentally from DD1 but the doctor was never worried. They always said as long as you can tell she's understanding everything then everything was fine and they weren't worried about anything else. I think we are so quick to compare and worry if we see other kids doing things at different rates, but I've learned every child just has their own timeliness to get things done 🙂
  • @Nik102 have you seen Modern Love? The Wheel of Time? Schitt’s Creek?
  • @jessier19 How is The Wheel of Time? I keep looking at it but haven't started it yet...
  • @Panaceia have you read the books? I haven’t, and I’m really enjoying it. My husband has, and he’s annoyed about how much they’re deviating from the books, but when he lets go of expectations he’s really enjoying it too. The monsters are sometimes pretty dark/gruesome, and for a while I was as worried it would be like game of thrones, but so far there are enough good guys to give it heart.
  • @jessier19 I haven't read the books so I won't be annoyed:) I think I'll put it next on my watch list! Thank you for the recommendation!!!
  • @Nik102 We just binge watched Yellowstone way too quickly after getting into it. That would be my recommendation.
  • @Sarah0335 Yellowstone was another one I was looking at! The shows I'm watching right now are weekly episodes...so there is really only one day a week that I have anything to watch. It is going on my list too!
  • @rachelredhead
My DS won’t high five and only waves occasionally. With a lot of things I feel he is stubborn, because he seems to understand though I wonder if I’m just making excuses for him as his mom. Lol We shall see what pediatrician says today.
  • @faithmovesmountains I try to remind myself he’s his own little person and maybe he just thinks waving is dumb. 🤪 Hope you get some nice reassurance today!
  • is anybody else extra stinky? I feel like i'm sweating more and my deodorant is not cutting it! I was obsessed with lume deodorant for a little while, but now it barely gets me till noon!
  • @morgantu I definitely feel extra stinky...but it might just be that we're extra sensitive to smell so we just smell ourselves more? I blame any extra sweat on the extra layers my body is packing on...
  • @morgantu 🙋🏻‍♀️ I definitely feel stinkier

  • @morgantu lume deordorant has worked really well for me. Do you use their acidified body wash? I feel like it makes a huuuuge difference
  • Thanks for all the recommendations, I’m making a list.

I feel like I smell more too, but my sense of smell is on overdrive these days.

Where are we posting about product recommendations?  Looking into what bottles I want. I plan to breastfeed again and we used Tommy Tippee without any issues with DS. But that was 8 years ago so I don’t know if there are better options.  So far the comotomo bottles caught my eye.
  • @Nik102 before we switched to the kind bottles we used dr brown bottles. Lots of pieces to wash but I liked them (and we use these in the NICU at the hospital too. Our lactation people recommend them) they were the only bottle we could get DS to use at first. (And we tried A LOT😂)
  • Ok, y'all make me feel better haha. @night_nurse I don't use the body wash, may be worth trying it out, huh?
  • @Nik102 we used Tommee tippee closer to nature with DS.
We tried several others that we were gifted, and he refused them all.
Then when he was admitted to hospital, they made me use premade formula in the little nursette bottles.
The whole time he was admitted, he went on a nursing strike. It was so much easier for him with those stupid free flow nursette nipples... I was distraught and my supply tanked even more.
But we got home, and went back to the Tommee tippee and BOOM, he was back to nursing that day.
I also like that there are few parts and they are easy to clean
  • @morgantu me! FFC I actually don't use deodorant pre pregnancy. I just don't normally sweat. It is a whole other ball game now. Not a good time lol.

@Nik102 we used Phillips Avent with DD and will start with those again. We also used Comotomo but they are overrated IMO. I did like how easy to clean they are though.

@goldfishcraker omg that is amazing!! How exciting and what a relief you must feel. So neat that they can overcome allergies like that.

@rachelredhead I just really love the waving is dumb comment 🤣. Honestly you might be right. DD would look at me like I was an idiot anytime I tried to do patty-cake with her.
  • @goldfishcraker What amazing news!!!! I'm sooooo thrilled for you guys! That must be such a relief!!!
  • @goldfishcraker yayyy that’s amazing!! So
    glad to hear!

  • @goldfishcraker hooray!! It sounds like a draining day, but what great news at the end of it all!
  • @morgantu I felt like I got super stinky when I was pregnant with my son. The only deodorant I found that worked for me was Native. Especially the citrus based scents. It’s all I’ve used for the last almost 3 years, and I haven’t noticed any smelliness this pregnancy (so far!)
  • @Nik102 we used a hodge-podge of different bottles with our first. I plan to buy a variety box to try out different ones. Worried baby would completely reject the one type of bottle I invested a bunch of $$$ in
  • Anyone else really starting to feel the weight of their baby lately?
Like I squatted to pick up my toddler’s toys at bedtime and my belly felt so heavy it took a minute to figure out how to stand back up straight. Lol

  • @faithmovesmountains yes! Baby feels so heavy already. Like turning over in bed requires some extra thought now. I am having the worst pelvic girdle pain already too.
  • I don’t remember who was taking about belly bands, but which one do I get? Is the blanqi everyday band good? Or do you have any other suggestions? This belly is already huge and just continuing to grow!!
  • @faithmovesmountains yes! Rolling over in bed leaves me breathless. Suuuuuuuuuper annoying.
  • @faithmovesmountains I said to SO last night that I can’t believe how uncomfortable I am already.  Rolling over at night is a struggle.
  • @faithmovesmountains and @kgg2241 yes!!! The weight of baby and the pelvic girdle pain are constant for me. Wearing a belly band during the day helps some. But rolling over or getting out of bed are OOF.
@appleblossom8317 I have a Belly Bandit Upsie Belly. I got it when I was pregnant with my son and have used it a lot with this pregnancy as well.

@goldfishcraker I’m so glad your son is over the egg allergy. What a scary allergy that was. Good for you for testing again rather than just continuing to avoid eggs forever! Although I’m sure it was scary.

I too did not wear deodorant pre pregnancy. I usually rarely sweat. But since pregnancy I have had to use deodorant. I’ve been using native but it doesn’t alway cut it. Also, my sweat smells really different than it ever had in the past (sorry if that’s TMI)
