Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Wednesday 10/13

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: WTO Wednesday 10/13

  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 8

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPK

R/R: My poor geriatric kitty is sick. He's puked multiple times today and now he's curled up and having a nap  <3 I think he made himself sick drinking stagnant water in the garden, poor guy. Teaching my first class of the year tomorrow so feeling like I have about three million things to do but not actually sure what any of them are  :D

    CS/Q: It's still ugly.

  • @Paturkey aww, poor kitty. I hope he feels better soon.

    Month/Cycle: 12/12

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: bbt, cm, opks, cinnamon, metformin for me, vit e and c for him, RE consult soon

R/R: had a bit of a breakdown in my husband's general direction last night (not directed at him, directed at the world and life in general, he's just the one I vented to). Feel slightly better today I guess. At least today is busy so I won't have much time to wallow. I know I'll feel better soon but I feel like each CD1 hits harder than the last.

    CS/Q: no

  • @Paturkey aww I hope your kitty is okay! Pretty sure I would be an absolutely mess if my cat was really sick. Thankfully I only deal with her puking after she thinks it's a good idea to eat the weeds/grass outside.

@fantasyflyte always good to feel your feels. I had a little meltdown last week with work. It feels silly, but I really do just sometimes need to cry like a baby and then I'm fine. Glad you're doing better today!

    Month/Cycle: uhhhh 52?/12 AL

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: immunology testing, bbt, opks, supplements

R/R: my motivation is lacking a bit today. My dad is coming by with lunch and then will be trimming some of our trees that have super low branches or dead branches. I look forward to a slightly neater looking yard!

CS/Q: temps are pretty consistent this go around

  • @Paturkey stagnant water is a menace; our dog gets really sick whenever she gets into it too. I hope your kitty feels better soon. What do you teach?

@fantasyflyte sending you hugs; I hope YH took it in stride. How's he feeling about your journey thus far and next steps? Do you know what next steps are?

@inthewoods23 I wish someone delivered me lunch; I absolutely hate making lunch... I have no ideas what to make and as of yesterday, I'm out of all canned fish & kale (my goto throw-together lunch).

    Month/Cycle: 21/1AL

    CD: 21

WAYDTGKU: waiting for Sergio to show his face so I can start egg retrieval #2

R/R: Grrrrrr. Went in for blood work yesterday hoping my E2 levels were nearing ovulation, but no, I'm no where near O! That *TW* CP *End TW* really did a number on my reproductive system. Grrrrrr. Anyways, doctor had me start Letrazole yesterday so that I can hopefully recruit a follicle and get things moving along . I've got a tentative baseline scheduled for next Thu, assuming that O happens by then. This is by far the longest cycle on the books.

I also met with my new medical endocrinologist yesterday so that my thyroid has a home (his words). Otherwise I have to request my thyroid meds from whoever is my current RE, which gets annoying. And my old endocrinologist left the practice (as was no longer in-network) in April. He seemed nice. He did a physical exam of my thyroid (which I haven't had before since I got diagnosed with Hashimoto's during the pandemic), and sent me on my way with a new prescription for Synthroid. Oh, and I got a flu shot at the same time, so that was handy.

CS/Q: Besides "Sergio, oh Sergio, where art thou Sergio?" I've got nothing. But obviously that's a rhetorical question.

  • @Paturkey I hope your kitty is feeling better soon!

@fantasyflyte I’m sorry you’re feeling so frustrated and upset. Hopefully being able to vent made you feel a little better? When do you go for your RE consult?

@inthewoods23 what’s dad bringing for lunch? I love when my dad stops by with food, now I just have to get him to help me landscape haha. Your dad sounds awesome!

@acleverusername it sounds like you had a very productive dr’s appt. I’m glad you found someone to see specifically for your thyroid. Bummer that the cp screwed up your cycle so much. Hopefully the letrazole helps bring along Sergio. Lol Sergio. I can’t help but picture some super muscular guy with long hair on a horse. 😅

R/R: I just found a tick on my dog. Meh. Currently trying to get mh to help me get it off. I’m not super surprised because we were in the woods for 4 days but I’m still annoyed. And now I can’t stop itching and feeling like something is crawling on me. So gross. Mh is off today and we’ve been running errands all day, but at least I got donuts and lunch out of the deal.

  • @Paturkey oh no, I hope your poor kitty feels better soon!

@fantasyflyte hugs, girl. Sometimes you need to let it all out to feel a bit better.

@inthewoods23 I feel you on the motivation. I've been trying to get myself to get stuff done all day and I have done everything but.

@acleverusername I'm sorry your cycle has been all wonky. Good that you got a new endocrinologist though!

@paytonpedro ugh we've found ticks on our dog before because there are deer in our area. One time it was really stuck and it took like 30 minutes for DH and I to pry it out with tweezers.

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: FET

R/R: I guess I'll just hang out here until after my FET because technically today would normally be O day but the estrogen is suppressing my ovulation this month. I had my lining check this morning and we're all good so our FET is scheduled for next Friday!

    CS/Q: nope

  • @acleverusername same, and with me being the only one home now and/or in the office for part the week I'm SO bad about making myself lunch. I'm also just horrible about grocery shopping for lunch items which doesn't help.

@paytonpedro well my dad is retired! lol he brought over Chinese. I haven't had Chinese in a very long time, it was so good! Shouldn't you be worried finding a tick? Or does your dog have tick prevention and wasn't likely bit?

    @shortstack930 yay for next Friday!

  • @shortstack930 I’m glad your dr appt went well! This is the first tick I’ve found on any of my dogs despite camping every weekend and hunting and being outside in nature very often. (@acleverusername) I used a lighter (let the flame burn for 15-20 seconds to heat the metal up and then just put it on the butt of the tick and they back right out) to get it out. I’ve heard it mentioned in veterinary practice and finally was able to put it to use, to my dismay. It worked amazingly though.

@inthewoods23 &@acleverusername so he literally just got his Lyme disease vacc like 2 weeks ago and the ticks only start feeding and transmitting after 24hrs of being attached. And I just found it, so I’m not too worried. He’s on preventatives but it’s getting close to his next dose. And even then, the way they work is the ticks (fleas/mosquitos/etc.) still have to bite for them to work, because it then kills them after they get blood.
@inthewoods23 mmmmm Chinese sounds good! I have t had it in a long time either!

@acleverusername oh my lord yes! Exactly what I was picturing!! I’ve never seen this so that’s hilarious!!
  • Update on the cat - thanks so much for all the well wishes everyone. He's spent all day curled up napping and hasn't been sick again so I think he got it all out of his system and is sleeping it off now <3

@fantasyflyte Sometimes you just have to get the feelings outside your body. I hope you're feeling better now.

@inthewoods23 I hope the yard maintenance feels satisfying and lunch delivery sounds great!

@acleverusername Stagnant water is the worst. Sorry it makes your dog sick, too. And I teach in a global challenges program at a university. You know, inspiring the students who are going to save us from ourselves or something :)

@paytonpedro Ooof, good job removing that tick! I hate ticks.

@shortstack930 That's great news about the lining! Good luck with the FET!
  • @acleverusername @paytonpedro he did take it in stride, he's an awesome dude. It's tough because we both contribute to the issues we have, so to speak, because we're dealing with both PCOS and slight MFI. Our RE consultation/virtual visit is Nov. 3, which should be 3dpo for this cycle. I don't really know what to expect, I was thinking about posting in the IF thread asking about what to expect when it gets a bit closer. I have to call the office to have them submit the visit for prior authorization though. And we have introductory paperwork and some educational videos we're supposed to watch by 10 days before our appointment.

@inthewoods23 it's always so satisfying to get spaces cleaned and neatened
@acleverusername I hope Sergio visits soon
@paytonpedro blugh, glad you were able to get the tick off, yuck
@shortstack930 oooh, fingers crossed for you!

  • @paytonpedro that sounds like a much more effective way of getting it off!! Ticks are so hard to kill though once you get them off.

@Paturkey glad your kitty is doing better!!

  • @Paturkey sorry your kitty is not feeling great. I hate it when my animals are sick and I don't know what is wrong.

@fantasyflyte venting is so important! Kudos to your SO for being there for you.

@inthewoods23 I spontaneously trimmed a bunch of our trees on Monday and woke up with some soreness today as a result! (I may have been taking out some aggression via the clippers)

@acleverusername gold your thyroid has a home. I have hashimotos as well which managed by my regular doc but only because I trust her with it.

@paytonpedro I found a tick on my couch once and seriously considered selling my house or burning it down.

I hope you can do something fun to take your mind off it as much as possible. As for the ticks. Yes. They freak me out. But I have to stay calm or my husband will loose his mind. He was all worried asking me if I’m worried and I’m just like nahhh. I am a little but not nearly as much as him haha.

@shortstack930 i put it in a ziplock baggie and it appears to be dead. Im going to send it off for testing to see if it carries Lyme. Mostly because I’m concerned about future tick exposure and if this one is positive we’ll have to be more careful, humans and dogs alike.

@fantasyflyte your husband sounds really great! It’s nice that you get a virtual visit that you can both attend, and Nov 3 isn’t too long of a wait! Yay!

@paturkey glad to hear your kitcat is feeling better!

  • @paytonpedro yeah, I'm really glad I hopped on it early and just scheduled the appt for the one year mark just in case we needed it, since we definitely do now.
  • @fantasyflyte definitely jump into the IF thread to get tips. You'll have me responding with the following article: https://modernfertility.com/blog/first-fertility-clinic-appointment/. Others may have more tips to contribute. Also, I was referred to this TB thread when I started going down that path.

@walkawaynee how long have you had Hashimoto's? What's your Synthroid dosage? It was weird... when I got diagnosed as part of my fertility testing... the OB who diagnosed me didn't want to have anything to do with managing it. She told me to go and get an endocrinologist. I was so off put by that that I didn't stay at the OB clinic (but there were other reasons for that too.)

  • @acleverusername I was diagnosed when I was 17. I don't take synthroid anymore. I am on Armour thyroid 120mg which I think is equivalent to 200mcg on synthroid.  Honestly it changes SO often, nobody has ever been able to really get it under control.
