I’m sorry you’re feeling like that, @firewife_911. I have not felt a bout of depression this pregnancy, but I know you’re not alone. And it’s not your fault, your hormones are causing huge shifts in your brain. Have you talked to anyone about it? Your OB or your therapist? If it gets to be too much, please reach out to them. You deserve to be happy!
Yup! I have been feeling down and a bit off too. I have experienced periods of depression in the past (non-pregnancy related) so I am familiar with the signs and symptoms. Knowing those and having coping skills to use can be very helpful. I also see a therapist, so am getting support that way. If you don't already have a therapist, I would recommend looking into finding one who has experience with perinatal depression. This mood shifts happen. Hormone changes can trigger them plus just the big transitions that go along with having a child. But you dont have to face these challenges alone. 💚
@firewife_911 yes very much so! And I feel so guilty for feeling sad when I should be so excited about having our first baby! It has been a big struggle for me the last few weeks and I even take a small dose of lexapro daily (10mg). I have found that walking is helping some and am seeing my therapist again. Hang in there and don’t be afraid to reach out for help ❤️
