@nursejenn5 This is me too:/ I'm sure for me it is definitely tied to what I've been eating and not getting enough liquid...but it's miserable isn't it?
I feel like I have low blood sugar all the time. I’m always super dizzy and nauseous, no matter how much or what I eat. I feel jittery. It’s so frustrating.
I’ve got similar symptoms to everyone else (feeling hot/waking up sweating, nausea, fatigue, sore boobs) but in just the past couple days I’ve also started having some hip pain. Anyone else’s hips hurt? For me it’s usually one side or the other, not both at the same time.
I am so uncomfortable that I’ve broken down in tears at least once a day for the past 4 days. So endlessly nauseous and nothing makes a dent. Aches and pains all over my body that just completely wreck me. Gas and constipation joining the nausea party. I can’t sleep. This has to get better, right?
@bejsharp hang in there! Many moms recommended unisom for sleep, I also got my prescription (as they don’t have it off the counter here) and it has helped with sleep a lot. If working from home is an option for you, maybe you might want to request for that so you can be as comfortable as possible at home, dealing with the nausea and gas as they come. Exercise also can help with managing the discomfort, because it produces endorphins. I know I feel better after a sweat sesh. I hope it gets better for you soon.
@bejsharp I definitely second that Unisom/B6 combo. It doesn't alleviate it all but it certainly takes the edge off for me and allows some sleep. My last two pregnancies without that combo were horrific at night and I certainly have noticed a difference this time around using it as a tool. Another thing to try might be Pepcid, my understanding is that it only works if your stomach is actually causing part of the nausea and for me it is, so that has helped a bit.
But yes, hang in there! It can really play with your emotions of it being unending!!
@bejsharp I'm sorry you are feeling this way 😔 I'm in the same boat nausea wise and cry at least once a day from just feeling so sick and throwing up constantly. For me nothing works and most things actually make the nausea worse. I'm also someone who gets to feel this way the entire 9 months 😒 I hope it is short lived for you and that it disappeares in second tri. My doctor is likely going to put me on medical leave immediately so that I don't even have to try to struggle through work and risk getting even more sick. Thinking of you ❤
@bejsharp I’m sorry you’re having such a rough time. I also recommended the b6/unisom combo. I take a unisom at night then have been sucking on “morning sickness sweets” that seem to help some they have b6 and ginger (and raspberry flavor). But the unisom helps the sleeping and nausea a bit.
For the majority of people once you near the 2nd trimester things get better. I felt better around week 14 last time. I’m much more sick this time around so I’m hoping for the same. Talk to your provider too, they can help guide you in what meds can help you nausea wise. (Also I had to basically live off Metamucil my last pregnancy for constipation which isn’t pleasant. But it was a godsend) hugs ❤️
ETA: also if I eat frequently and keep at least a little something in my belly it helps some.
Big fan of b6 and unisom for those struggling. It takes the edge off just enough for me to function through the day. For those who are taking it, how much unisom are you taking? I've been taking 1/2 but wondering about the whole thing?
@morgantu I'm not currently taking unisom for nausea but I took a whole pill for insomnia last week and could hardly function the next day. I don't know if I should have taken less or if I just don't tolerate it well but I took it at 8pm and felt loopy until 4pm the next day.
@morgantu I take 1/2-3/4 a tab depending on how bad I am feeling. I read somewhere to start with half and then you go up in quarter tab increment if it doesn't work. I felt like 1/2 made me feel like a zombie but helped at first, but within a week and a half it was no longer helping.
My nausea has finally subsided, but I am struggling to stay awake for most of the day. Coffee is still gross but the couple ounces I am getting down I think are helping. I've tried green tea but it's just too weak to do anything!
@btate01 SAME with the hip pain over here. It's usually around bed time, definitely if I wake up in the middle of the night and I don't have the space in bed to move around (we have unintentionally started co-sleeping with my 2 year old) it radiates down my thighs.
@btate01 and @brianalee9757 - I also have been having pretty bad hip pain. Always on the same side. I have had previous issues with my ilia (sp?) in that side so I think this might be round ligament /exacerbating my existing issue? But it’s awful.
Is anyone else dealing with nosebleeds? I’ll be 11 weeks tomorrow, but that past few days I’ve had several nosebleeds that just come out of nowhere. I know these can happen during pregnancy so it’s not dangerous, but it’s just annoying and driving me crazy!
@btate01 not this pregnancy but I did have a few nosebleeds with my son. Not sure if this is typical but they only happened during first tri. Super annoying, I hope yours go away soon.
@jennifer_m21 yea I am dealing with an oilier scalp and have been feeling more bumps, even pimples there... It's not something I dealt with in the previous pregnancy. I find using a dandruff shampoo helped.
Leaking breastmilk... woke up this morning with 2, albeit small, wet circles on my shirt. Apparently it can happen in the first trimester but even as TTM it's a new symptom to me!
@jlbaker08 that is unexpected! I have done the squeeze test and there is a bit of milk there, but I have not leaked yet involuntarily. It has been about 10 months since I last breastfed.
@btate01 I actually just found my journal from my first pregnancy and was reminded that I got nosebleeds often in the first trimester! Keep a stack of napkins in your car - I had one while at a red light!
Not sure where best to post this - has anyone had luck with an at home Doppler yet? I was able to find a HB last night, and since nobody is allowed to come to appointments with me, it was my husbands first time hearing baby! I don’t remember it being this early last time (11 weeks)
@Jeenyus I’ve been using it once a day since 10+5, it’s reassuring especially until I start feeling consistent movements. DH also isnt allowed to any appts or ultrasounds so it helps for him to feel connected. I think we’ll eventually go to one of the little ultrasound boutiques so DH can see baby.
@Jeenyus I definitely found *something* at 10+3 and 10+4 but I'm not entirely convinced it was baby....I'm trying to wait for my US on the 8th before trying again...
Hi friends. Anyone 12 weeks along and still experiencing bad nausea and food aversions? I’m 12 weeks today and the past few days have been really rough. It seems like it’s peaking. I don’t remember this with my first! Anyone else have this experience?
@night_nurse I so wish he could come to an ultrasound . My next one is at 18 weeks, but you aren’t allowed to have anyone come with you. It definitely is reassuring!
@Panaceia I couldn’t pick anything up at 10w5d, but on 11 weeks mine was 67 and babies was 165! It can be reassuring when you find it, but unsettling when you can’t! I’m looking forward to showing my daughter, whenever we decide to tell her.
@beth2094 I’m having mild nausea, but the food aversions are strong still. I’ve been consisting on oatmeal, Greek yogurt with berries and granola, pineapple, apples, and saltines. I’m down 15 lbs, though had that to lose anyways.
Hopefully in the coming weeks it settles for you! With my daughter the nausea and aversions stopped around 13-15, though some aversions never did go away.
@Jeenyus Thank you for that! It definitely makes me feel better!!! I had SO take the doppler out of the house today anyways or I would end up using it way too much:/ That's such a cool idea to let your daughter listen to it when you tell her 🥰
@beth2094 I'm aaaalmost 11 weeks so not sure yet with this pregnancy, but with my first 2 my symptoms got progressively worse all the way through. With my first I didn't start throwing up until around 10 weeks, and then didn't stop throwing up until delivery. I was literally throwing up all through labour too. It was not pretty. It was the same with my second but not quite as bad. I had HG with both though. This one is the worst so far...I started throwing up much earlier (5+2) and have been getting steadily sicker since...but I'm holding out hope that this time because it started earlier that it might end sooner. FX yours doesn't last much longer!
@beth2094 I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and the aversions are still going strong. I had to make three different dinners for myself last night because by the time I was done with the first two attempts they grossed me out. And this morning I made my standard avocado toast and eggs but ended up giving the eggs to my husband because they tasted like fish. 😂
Thanks for the responses!! It does help to know that others have experienced these symptoms even this late in the 1st trimester. I remember my symptoms fading around 12 weeks with my first son, but with this little boy, they seem to be still increasing. So I was somewhat shocked by it! They may fade soon, or may continue throughout pregnancy… either way I’m just thankful for a healthy and growing baby! I’ll just be surviving off of pickles and crackers until things change 🤣
@beth2094 I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and my symptoms seem to come and go just as much as they have through this whole pregnancy. I do remember that when I was pregnant with my son my worst symptoms were around 11/12 weeks and then went away by week 14 or 15. Hope you feel better soon!
Some of you are past 12 weeks! Has your energy come back yet? I am in the 11th week but still living in a constant fog of sleepiness, which would be kind of nice if I could sleep all day, but I cant....

Super sore chest still, but feeling like I can finally eat again. Some smells still offputting.
But yes, hang in there! It can really play with your emotions of it being unending!!
