How many months have you been TTC?: A little complicated (See TW below)

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Currently benched, then OPKs, vitamins, etc.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)

I was around for a while this summer, so I hope you all don’t mind me jumping back in.

TW:

I had a MC last week after a BFP in July. I’m still processing (physically and emotionally), but I’m hoping to start tentatively participating again so I’ll be ready when I get the all clear. Sad to be back, but thankful for this group.

I live with my DH and my four-year-old DD and I work as a librarian at a small university. I enjoy baking and gardening (although I’m not very good at either). Anyone have recipes for the two dozen banana peppers I just picked? I also enjoy reading (stereotypical librarian, I know) and always appreciate new book recommendations.

@abjm0325 so sorry to see you back here. Jump back in when you're ready! I've only had banana peppers on sandwiches so unfortunately I'm not going to be much help with what to do with them. Maybe use them as a pizza topping?

Re: banana peppers, I'm pretty sure I've heard of someone just shoving them in the juice of a pepperoncini jar 😂

@pajamstagrams I was thinking something like that too with the banana peppers. They are very similar IMO to pepperoncini and could be swapped in any recipe.

Like this one for italian beef that's even better than Portillo's (and that's saying something having been born in the Chicago area). DH likes to joke with me and call them Portholes because we (edit: we meaning my family) always get their sandwiches dipped

. Anyway - this recipe is fantastic and perfect for a chilly fall/winter/spring day.

@abjm0325 I'm sorry for your loss. There's a benched thread you can join, we're currently discussing gardening.

I just watched a YouTuber (that 1870s homestead) I follow this morning who was canning her banana peppers to use and sandwich toppings and such. I've only grown them once and I remember grilling them they were pretty tasty. @abjm0325 so sorry you're back, but welcome. like the others have said banana peppers are readily pickleable and quite mild. my house currently has something of a fridge pickle production line on-going (although I may run out of fridge space soon!). the garden cucumbers are non-stop and my uncle grows these mildly spicy little green peppers called chillenos that are lovely pickled with a bit of fresh oregano and garlic. Another alternative for the bananas is to roast and then freeze them if you have too many to eat. I froze a bunch of roasted red peppers last year and it was nice to be able to get them out of the freezer in the winter and have that taste of summer.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I work in theatre and I just started my first in person job since October 2019 - feels great. I have a 20 month old son, and I learned how to sew during the pandemic. @abjm0325 I also love gardening and watched SO much Garden Rescue at the beginning of the pandemic.

I recently had a CP (5wks), but the midwife said we are good to keep trying again. I previously had a MMC in Nov 2018, before conceiving my son in April 2019.

@jandawg welcome! I took up sewing during the pandemic as well! I work at a craft store and have stockpiled way too much fabric over the last year.

Re banana peppers, I usually buy them in bulk at the farmers market because I don't grow enough of my own, lol. I split them in half length wise and stuff them with a buffalo chicken filling. They freeze well and provide a quick meal when I get too lazy to make anything else the rest of the year.

Welcome @jandawg. I did not know Garden Rescue was a thing! During the pandemic, I planted a variety of fruit shrubs in our yard as natural, edible barriers. Everything is small right now (and the landscapers pulled out one of my plants so I have to start that over next spring

) but hopefully they'll start to take off next year.

@zwink1 I hope your plants all take off! I had some weird germination stuff this year, and my husband ripped out two of my scarlet runner beans by accident, but those are just annuals so it hurt a little less. I built a Mediterranean garden (figs, olives that don't seem too happy, and lavender) and have a veg patch.

@fantasyflyte the stash problem is real - I've gotten very good at resisting the online fabric sale.

@abjm0325 currently as a director! I also do freelance dramaturgy and used to be a stage manager.

Hello, everyone! I am not new to the block but it has been awhile. I was extremely active on the boards through my Aug '11 and Aug '13 babies and I was granted moderator positions for 6 boards. I still have a post pinned on Baby Names. Lol

I loved being in the community here so I decided to come back for my new TTC journey.

Unfortunately we are already off to a rocky start. I have had the ParaGard IUD since my last baby 8 years ago. It was to be removed and we were told we would have the go ahead right away next cycle, but upon removal the IUD broke. One of the arms of the IUD is stuck in my uterus and now we are waiting on an ultrasound appointment to see if it can be dug out or if it will require surgery. My instructions are to NOT get pregnant until this is completely sorted out. 😔

Despite the current set back I am ready to jump back in and reintroduce myself to the community.

I didn’t see one for this week so figured I’d just intro here. I’m not exactly new, I’ve been on the bump off and on since 2013 but I had a different sn then. TTGP was a huge support for me during the years it took me to TFAS. I mainly kept to the TTCAL and IF threads though.

Ages (you and SO): I’m 35, soon to be 36 in Sept. also I’m a single mom.

How many months have you been TTC?: haven’t jumped back in yet but have a consult with my RE 9/20

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I’m still on my vitamin regiment since my last go around. PNV, vitD, and metformin for PCOS. But plan will most likely be to do another FET.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)

as I said above I am a single mom. First it was by chance, I have a 7 yr old son from my previous marriage who I have had full custody of and raise on my own since he was 3. Long story short my ex and I Tfas for over a year started with an RE then he bailed on us and after time to rebuild and refocus my life I started down the SMBC path. TW 3 IUIs, 2 miscarriages and 1 IVF and FET later my daughter was born. She’s 14 months old now.

We have a beagle and live in CT. I work from home doing IT work.

I’m a big Star Wars fan. I love coffee, I watch a lot of Law and Order and Greys Anatomy. Looking forward to jumping back in to this great community. But I’ll probably be on the bench for a bit.

Hi all! I just got off of my 72 hour waiting period and I'm excited to join this community!

Ages (you and SO): I'm 36 and he is 38

How many months have you been TTC?: I am on CD3 of cycle 2!

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I have no clue what I'm doing so hopefully i can learn a lot here! I am tracking CM & CP. My first cycle I had no idea what I was doing and dont even know when I ovulated so i am trying to do a little more this month to help me figure it out!

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I don't have any kids and have never tried before! This is all new to me and I'm ashamed at how little I know about my own body!! They should teach us more about this stuff! I have been with my husband for 19 years, we are high school sweethearts! We finally feel ready, so I had my IUD removed at the end if July and here I am!

I owned my own business about a year ago and I am excited about how things are going! I am working a full time job too, but hoping I can transition away from that fairly soon.

Hi knottie and welcome! I highly recommend reading Taking Charge of your Fertility if you haven't already, it's such a good resource for understanding your cycles and charting! Personally I mainly rely on BBT charting for ID'ing ovulation because it's the most consistent for me, so I would pick up a BBT thermometer, if you're willing to commit to temping most mornings. But CM and CP work for others so don't feel like it's a bad option either!

@pajamstagrams thank you for the advice! I will check out Taking Charge of your Fertility! I am not sure about taking my temperature in bed everyday! My hubby is a really light sleeper, and I get up earlier than him so I try to get up and out of the room as fast as possible so he doesn't have trouble sleeping the rest of his morning. From what I've read, you have to take it before you get up, right?

@roseywannabe yeah you should take it before getting up, so still lying down. You can probably find a thermometer that doesn't beep too loudly, but yeah, it's a commitment 😂
