  • I am 8+1 days and definitely experiencing very vivid dreams. About 4 solid dreams a night.

Yesterday I had an hour and a half nap in the afternoon. Woke up feeling very very groggy, and shortly after got a visual migraine. Something I've never had before. It was like half of my vision was kaleidoscope vision, and it lasted for about 20 minutes and then was gone.
  • @babyck373 Oh my goodness, that sounds awful! I’m so glad that it only lasted 20 minutes.

  • Agreed on the vivid dreams.

I also puked last night for the first time. Ugh. I'm thinking maybe it's my DHA that's making me sick?

@babyck373 sorry to hear about the migraine. They're the worst, especially when pregnant!
  • @elle-0409 yes! So bizarre! The other night I had a dream that I took Grandpa (who passed away in 2011) to New York to be a model. I was his hype girl and kept gushing about his beautiful hair 😂. It was very random and bizarre.

@michelle_bird I'm sorry you puked. I feel like my prenatals are contributing to how sick I feel too. I'm getting the courage up to go take mine now...
  • @kgg2241 I only take them at night now! But I took them around 8 last night instead of closer to going to sleep time. I guess that gave my body time to revolt?! Yuck.
  • @michelle_bird I can't stomach the ones with DHA at all:(

@babyck373 I started getting visual migraines just after DD1 was born. It scared the crap out of me the first time!

The cravings are strong right now. Buffalo sauce and jalapeños. Eating them straight from the jar. This is the exact craving as my last pregnancy which is funny. I guess my body just needs me to drink water and is projecting that by making me crave salt.

  • the hunger is so real right now. I ate breakfast and a pack of PB crackers and could easily down my lunch already. But then that gives me 5 more hours of work with no snacks. I had to go to the cafeteria for a bagel yesterday afternoon. I do not remember this so early with my first.
  • @v2hb your post made me add Buffalo sauce to our shopping list.
  • @morgantu I feel ya with the hunger! I don't go anywhere without bringing a snack high in protein. I could only be gone 15 minutes, and still make sure I have a snack. Otherwise, I turn into an angry dinosaur.
  • @v2hb I’m craving the salt too and then I’m like I need water!

Anyone feeling feverish? I keep checking my temp and it’s normal but I read it’s normal because of the increase in blood volume.
  • Is it normal to be this hungry at 8.5 weeks?
  • I have been feeling kind of feverish and headachy. Last night I wet a face clothe and put it on my forehead and back of my neck. Felt very soothing!

I've been very quesy the past week. If I let myself get hungry then I feel sick. The past 2 days I have adjusted to eating small meals every 2 hours. It has helped me feel much better!  My sister in-law suggested plain rice cakes as a snack. Picked some up this evening. Excited to see how that works as a snacking item tomorrow.

  • So so so tired today. I felt like a crap mom today. I couldn’t get out of bed till 9!!! (Not sure the last time I did that) and then had to nap for 40 mins today. Thank goodness my boys can feed themselves cereal and work the tv.
  • @babyck373 I’m sorry you are feeling that way. I’ve had days like that. I actually cried the other night (thanks hormones) Bc I was so tired and feeling headachy, sore, and terrible.
  • @Panaceia I take a separate DHA pill that's vegan (non fishy)! I get it on Amazon.

So, my nausea has been gone since Monday after 2 weeks of constant nausea. Oddly though, DH has been nauseous daily since Monday. Now I'm wondering if maybe I had a stomach bug and it wasn't pregnancy??
  • Oh, is anyone else dealing with insomnia??? I fall asleep just fine but have to pee at least once a night. Then it'll take me anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to fall back asleep! I'm dragging hard today because I was up from 3:45-5:00!
  • I’ve been having ear issues and been in a good amount of pain the past few days. The nausea has begun but I’m not sure if it’s from the pain or the baby. I think it’s from baby though. Good thing I still have my b6 and unisom from last time. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into HG like last go.

  • @313Meg Hormones suck in that way!! I find it so frustrating to be crying/weepy in situations when I'd never, ever be remotely emotional.

    @michelle_bird YAY for no nausea!!!!!

  • @michelle_bird I'm in the same boat as you. I get up to pee at least once a night and then it takes me forever to fall back to sleep. My butt is dragging today! :s

  • For the non- FTM, do the symptoms really get better in the second trimester??  I’m hoping that is true and I only have a few more weeks of feeling like junk.
  • @Sarah0335 oh for sure, second tri is the honeymoon stage. Things get a new type of junky in third tri but that’s another story

  • @Sarah0335 yes it does get better! My first I felt better by 15/16 weeks in terms of nausea and such. Still needed more rest than usual but not as bad as first tri. Mostly resumed all Normal activity at that point

@michelle_bird I cant fall asleep without unisom! Take a half tablet at bedtime. My 2.5 yr old still wakes me up sometimes at night and I fall asleep okay after that too
  • @Sarah0335 yes! What @runnergirl2018 said. I started feeling much better at 17 weeks.
  • @michelle_bird and @elle-0409 I have the same issue! I fall asleep okay at the beginning of the night, but when I wake up to pee it is so hard to go back to sleep.
  • +1 for insomnia, toss and turning and taking forever to get back to sleep! Also I feel like I have hot flashes throughout the day, I keep checking my temp to make sure I don't have a fever. Waves of nausea throughout the day, but nothing significant. Just overall "blah" feeling.
  • @Sarah0335 I think for most it gets better in second tri, but not for all. For me it gets progressively worse until delivery. Hopefully you'll be someone who isn't sick past the 16 or 17 week mark!
  • @Sarah0335 for me, it got better for a brief second, and then got much worse. I know very few who have that experience, though.
  • For me last pregnancy, the second trimester was almost as miserable as the first. But then I finally got that mythical second trimester energy in the third trimester. I ended up feeling fabulous in the third trimester, go figure
  • Maybe I’m just more sensitive to smells but I feel like my body odor is worse now. 😂 I was easily skipping deodorant before getting pregnant but now…yikes.
  • I completely agree. I'll be 8 weeks this coming Tuesday, and I took a 3 hour nap yesterday and today and still feel like I could sleep more! After my nap today I woke up with a bad migraine, hoping exercise would help so I took my dog for a walk and felt dizzy and lightheaded   🙄 although I won't complain because this is our rainbow 🌈💗

I'm on week 9 and my nausea has gotten progressively worse (vomiting every other day now) :( hoping the morning sickness dies down soon. I am also tired all the time, so much so I can't do my regular chores and hubby has to help out more with cooking and cleaning. My appetite has gotten smaller but I constantly need to eat otherwise my nausea kicks in.
  • I don’t remember the middle of the night pees happening this early last time, I’m up all night peeing

All day nausea. Cannot wait to go to nap/bed as that is the only time I dont feel sick. Since I haven't had my ob visit yet , I sometimes  don't know if I am pregnant or have a really bad stomach bug . I am also tired of subconsciously  holding my nausea down. It's like, if I relax I might start gagging and puking. Uhh cant wait for 2nd trimester.

  • I’m 7 weeks now and I’ve had no morning sickness. I had morning sickness with my 3 previous pregnancies(2 kids and a miscarriage). It’s starting to worry me. The only symptom I have is sore breasts.
Has anyone else not experienced morning sickness?
  • Maybe tmi. I don’t remember it starting this early last time. But constipation. 👎🏼 I lived on semi regular Metamucil last time. But unsure what I should try since I’m so early on this go around. (Will be asking my doc next week at my appt)
