How are you feeling?: Better, just really tired and bad migraines

Rants/Raves: I feel so much better but still can’t stomach coffee, I miss it so much

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? Both? Idk I think it’s circumstantial, definitely no big public surprises

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 7+1

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: coffee bean

FTM/STM/TTM+: STM (7 year gap with this one)

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out. Same as @Panaceia, NIPT 8/30 and then we will find out the second week of sept.

Upcoming Appointments: I have a MFM appointment on Wednesday.

    How are you feeling?: I.FEEL.LIKE.DEATH.

Rants/Raves: Being high-risk is terrifying but I am finding comfort in all the extra monitoring and appointments. The constant reassurance that all is well is  giving me the ability to enjoy this pregnancy and believe that it’s finally happening for us.

Questions: When will you be formally (if at all) announcing this pregnancy?  Struggling to keep it a secret because most people knew about our IVF journey and that our embryo transfer was 7/9.

GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? I love surprises!!!!!! As long as they are good ones of course.

@Nik102 Definitely not announcing...but we never have. That being said if anyone straight up asks I'll tell them. If you are comfortable telling people then do it! It's nice to be celebrated!
  • @rachelredhead Similar experience! I pushed for almost an hour with no progress, and ended up with a C-Section. I'm worried about the recovery, especially with an active toddler and the flights of stairs in our house!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days:
    March 5 / 10+2

    Finding out

    Upcoming Appointments:
Sept. 2nd for regular OB visit

    How are you feeling?:
    Not awful, but not great

    Rants/Raves:
Chiropractors are the best. If you are having back pain already, like me, I highly recommend finding a chiropractor. I will be visiting mine weekly for the remainder of this pregnancy.

    Questions:
    None

GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?
I haven't really experienced any big surprises myself, but as long as it's a good surprise I'd say bring it on!

  • @v2hb I love water, and usually drink only water. Right now it is tough! I found that I can handle it if it is SUPER COLD with tons of ice. As soon as it is regular level of cold, it makes me gag. Pregnancy is weird.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 8+3

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: raspberry

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: waiting to decide until we hear a heartbeat

    Upcoming Appointments: Thursday!

How are you feeling?: so tired! I need a nap after eating breakfast. I'm lucky my husband and I are both teachers and have a couple weeks left of summer. He has entertained DD each morning, as that seems to be my worst time of day.

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? HATE them. I don't like the attention, and I like things to be done in a certain way.
  • @smoresdoeuvres i'm very interested in the chiropractor. My back is not doing great right now and i just anticipate that will continue. I should start now, huh?

@jennifer_m21 I had an RCS with my second even though they were almost 6 years apart. I know many people who have had successful VBAC experiences and loved it, but I don't like risk of any kind. I will say if you do go the RCS route, I found the second one to be super easy. O was running up and down the stairs with DD1 as soon as I got home (less than 48 hours after the RCS) and I found recovery to be sooooo easy compared to my first. Maybe because it was planned and I didn't also have to endure 37 hours of labour, 3 hours if pushing, and DD1 abd I almost dying due to a misdiagnosis....

@brianalee9757 I'm living in yoga pants and nursing tanks right now;)

@v2hb Um...yes to showing already. This is pregnancy #7 and I think my body just went "yep...I know where this is going" and just threw in the towel...I am also struggling with water right now. Someone suggested Gatorade and it has been a life saver!

@morgantu I can't let myself get full, I can't let my stomach get empty, and I can't get dehydrated. So I sip on orange juice or Gatorade all day, have some sort of bread that I nibble on continuously,  and eat right before I go to sleep. Don't get me wrong, I look land feel like the walking dead (and even reinjured an old whip lash injury while throwing up this morning...so that is fun) but my body is at least moving...so I'm calling it a win! I also got adjusted by the chiropractor regularly during my 1st pregnancy. It was amazing!!!!!! I definitely recommend starting now!
  • @morgantu Yes! Seriously, It's helped me through 3 pregnancies so far. I only wish I had gone more frequently, so that's why I'm starting weekly this time around.

    Upcoming Appointments: 8/24

How are you feeling?: I feel much better when I'm doing something than when I'm sitting around so I've spent the day trying to do things; Nexium has been a game changer with this heartburn too

Rants/Raves: I passed my glucose test last week with flying colors, take that Colleen!(the midwife)  never mind that I have like 4 of the 5 risk factors for gestational diabetes  :#

Questions: MH and I are discussing NIPT... I think I'm going to decline it  **TW
If we were to discover that there was some sort of chromosomal abnormality like Downs Syndrome, we would proceed with the pregnancy anyway... so what are some of the benefits to testing if it doesn't affect our outcome?

GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?  I love surprises!  I feel like there are so few true/good surprises these days which is why we're team green!  what better, amazing surprise is there than meeting your baby and finding out who they are at the same time!

  • @jennifer_m21 I got the okay from my Dr to try for VBAC this time.  I had failure to progress after 19 hours of labor with my first and hand presentation after 2ish hours with my second that both ended in unplanned c-sections.  I was certain I'd never get the chance to try again, but my Dr suggested it before I had even asked and I'm sure my eyes lit up.  It's been 10.5 years since my first and 6 years since my last c-section so she believes I'm a good candidate.

    @morgantu yay team green!

  • @jlbaker08 I think for me results of the NIPT are mostly about being prepared. I'm a planner and especially when it comes to my littles I want to know that I'm doing my absolute best for them and giving them the best possible chance at everything. So for me, knowing in advance if there is an issue that could affect my child's health or quality of life is super important so that I can be as prepared as possible for anything they might need, as well as give myself and my family a chance to process. This is, of course, just personal opinion. If you aren't comfortable getting the test done then that is absolutely a valid choice. You have to do what you feel is right for you and your family ❤
  • @jlbaker08 my response would be the same as Panaceia's. We won't be doing it this time because of insurance, but I like the idea of being prepared as early as you can be mentally, financially, etc. Also, if something is wrong, it gives you extra time to set up meetings with specialists.
  • @goldfishcraker I’m right there with you, I love DS but so had my heart set on a girl this time. There was a lot of gender disappointment at first. Now I’m excited for brothers but you definitely deserve the time to have your feels without guilt (if necessary!)

    Upcoming Appointments: 8/17

How are you feeling?: Definitely been more nauseous the past few days. Not fun, but always a little encouraging. I also keep almost blurting out to people that I'm pregnant. I forget that I haven't told anyone yet, let alone the random guy I pass in the hallway. 😂

Rants/Raves: All I want to eat are English muffins with cream cheese. Super healthy.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? My husband planned a big surprise 30th birthday party for me and I was so surprised! Like some others have mentioned though, it probably would have stressed me out if I accidentally found out ahead of time.
  • @gembud I can't do coffee either. So sad!
@Nik102 We will tell family after the first ultrasound, but won't plan to announce at work or in wider circles until after 12 weeks. Mostly because I'm a little more private and don't want to tell non-family if something devastating were to happen before 12 weeks.
@brianalee9757 I bought some stretchy dress pants (beta brand) that have been good for the in-between phase. I figure they will be good for post partum too, and really any time because who doesn't want comfy work pants?
@jlbaker08 I agree with others that for me NIPT would be for planning and mental preparation purposes. Totally up to you how you prefer to process though!
  • @goldfishcraker I have the same issues with BP. It is already super low and pregnancy makes it drop even more. I was actually doing pretty well up until this week...the past few days I'm blacking out every time I stand up and I'm super dizzy. I keep trying to change position slowly but with my girls spending the day finding new ways to induce heart attacks in me I'm having a hard time:/ Also, can you ask for a dating scan? My doctor said it's standard practice here regardless of how sure you are about your dates...? Also FX that the bleeding stops soon ❤
  • @Panaceia @realhousewife519 thank you for sharing! I will talk to my OB and work with her since I'm torn. Both have pros and cons.

@jlbaker08 Agree with the others re: NIPT. I'm a planner, so knowing details ahead of time helps me prepare.

@abjm0325 Bagels and cream cheese is my go-to snack!

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out! Hoping to schedule my NIPT when I’m 10 weeks.

Upcoming Appointments: first appt is 8/17 and I’m so excited!

How are you feeling?: better the past two days!

Rants/Raves: I really feel unmotivated to work out but I know I need to since I don’t want to gain as much as I did in my last two pregnancies. I started losing weight when I got pregnant but not where I wanted to be. Just blessed to be pregnant but hope that it isn’t so hard on my body especially towards the end of my pregnancy. I had a 10lb 1oz baby last time and my body was in so much pain carrying him lol.

Questions: any mamas who’ve had a boy and a girl feel like there’s differences between the pregnancies? I feel like my pregnancies have been similar. I have 2 boys and never had really bad morning sickness, with this one neither so I’m leaning towards the baby being a boy too lol

GTKY: Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? I love surprises because when I was younger my mom couldn’t wait to give me things so I was never really surprised. Lol
  • @bananasb I feel so much better after throwing up! It doesn't last super long but I always feel like the time after throwing up is my reward for having to throw up in the first place. Definitely let it out if you feel like it's coming!
  • @MusicalFamily I've only had girls but the pregnancies were similar. I'm much sicker much earlier this time but I feel like the similarities are still there...my mom said she was the sickest with my sister, and this is reminding me a lot of my first pregnancy so I'm thinking girl. Also I hear you on the working out. I hadn't missed a day of working out in over 9 months, and I was just back to being under my pre preg weight with DD2 when the nausea kicked in. Despite the throwing up and food aversions I can already tell I've gained a lot due to the constant eating to try to get rid of the nausea. I don't know why my mind continues to think that morning sickness is like a hangover and that if I just eat enough carbs it will go away...I mean, I know it just makes me feel worse but I keep doing it...
  • @MusicalFamily I have 1 girl, and 3 boys. I felt basically the same in the first three pregnancies. My youngest son, I had HG and my symptoms were the toughest. So I don’t think it really says that much about the sex of the baby.

  • @MusicalFamily I had a boy first then girl! With boy I had zero nausea and craved sour things. With girl I had a little nausea and craved sweets. I have a bit of nausea this time, not many cravings yet, so maybe girl again? We shall see....

@Panaceia that is all too familiar! I blacked out at least 3 times today when standing up. Nice to not be alone in it, though I wish you weren't experiencing it too!!
I think I will ask the OB for a dating scan. I'll be 9 weeks then, which I think is in the acceptable range..right?
As long as they don't move me back 😅. That's what happened several times last time. I don't want to be on these Injections a single day longer than I have to!

    Edit typeo
  • @nursejenn5 There were 2 reasons for a C-section. Baby was positioned funny in the canal (head was kinda twisted and not facing up like he was supposed to), and he had fetal tachycardia. Since I'm having twins, my OB says that sometimes due to their position, I may have to do a RCS anyway. So I guess, I should just wait? She already scheduled a C-section a little after 38 weeks.

p.s. congrats on the new house!
  • @Panaceia so it turns out I don't have to ask the OB next week for a dating scan. I guess he requested one and just didn't mention it haha.

I got the letter from the hospital in the mail this morning. it's booked for Aug 23. I should be 9+3. I wonder if I can sweet talk the sonographer into showing me some stuff and giving me some info haha. Instead of having to wait nearly 2 weeks to find out results..
