How are you doing with everything at the moment? Better than I expected. I feel so much less stressed for some reason this time...but it might just be because it doesn't feel real yet. I wasn't sure we would get here again but I'm so thrilled that we did. Hoping so hard that this little nugget gets to come home in March. I keep reminding myself that I had DD2 at 40 and that was only 2 years ago...so my body can't be that much different...right?
How far along are you? 6w3 according to LMP but I think it’s probably more like 5w4 or so.
How are you doing with everything at the moment? My son’s first birthday was yesterday and I’d been having a lot of anxiety about experiencing a loss around his birthday. I wanted to celebrate him fully and not have that day clouded. It ended up being a great day so I’m thankful for that. My first US is a week from today so just trying to stay calm really. I know even a perfect US won’t erase the anxiety but it’ll be an important step.
@panaceia I’ve been having the same thought. How different can getting pregnant at 38 be from getting pregnant at 40? We didn’t magically become decrepit elderly folks. We’re still tough, strong, capable ladies, dang it! 😃
@rachelredhead Right? With my 2nd my doctor said they didn't really consider anyone AMA until they hit 42...😅 Not sure what that means but if it gives me extra appointments this time around then count me in!!!! I'm so glad your son's birthday went well!!! I'm still being a chicken about my first ultrasound. I can't decide if I want an early one around 7 or 8 weeks or a later one around 9 or 10 weeks...so because I can't decide I just haven't even bothered calling my doctor yet...I should probably get on that though because I imagine they book up quickly right now. I did already book my NIPT for August 30th...so if all goes well and we get to that point then hopefully I'll have the results before the start if the school year so I won't have to be too stressed.
@Panaceia there's no way 2 years can make that much of a difference... already having one toddler wearing you down is sure to make more of a difference than being 2 years older!
@rachelredhead same as above ^ I'm glad the party went well and you got to celebrate your little one.
Age: 34 (35 Friday)
How far along are you? 4+6
How are you doing with everything at the moment? I'm technically not AMA until Friday but I assume that getting pregnant 1 month before your 35th birthday probably counts. When we discussed trying to get pregnant, my Dr seemed pretty confident that having had 2 successful pregnancies previously would work in my favor. I'm interested to see what the differences are as far as care/testing compared to my other 2. We'll see how it goes!
How are you doing with everything at the moment? Overall okay, but with some low level anxiety. I’m fretting over the lines getting darker on my pregnancy tests. I think I’m in my head too much. My ultrasound will be at 8w1d.
@panaceia +1 For agreeing that our bodies are still able to figure their stuff out and not turn to dust just because we’re AMA.
@rachelredhead Happy birthday to your son! I’m glad that it was a great day. Fingers crossed for a good ultrasound next week.
@jlbaker08 I was 34 when I got pregnant with my daughter and 35 when I delivered. It’s so funny how our prenatal care changes so drastically with the difference of that one number.

How are you doing with everything at the moment? I’m stressing. It took us over a year to conceive this time. I’ve been having consistent cramping. Needing to sit or rest more often. The nausea has kicked in. It’s been all day, thank goodness it’s not progressing past that so far.
My DH is freaking about money and how we will handle a baby, starting all over, getting all the new things. And so on. Which of course is making me worried.
I have my first ultrasound on Thursday. (I’m higher risk) to confirm dating and heartbeat. And anxious for that heart!
@Panaceia you are more courageous than me! Having 2 littles at “ama” 😂 I’m “ama” and the thought of a newborn and toddler just scares me! Haha more power to you and @rachelredhead! I did that, and so glad they are so close now! (5&7 and best buds) I’m also glad I’m not the only one who’s “ama”. I was afraid I’d be the only one since my last bmb was mostly younger mamas. Ps I hate the term ama!
@rachelredhead glad you were able to enjoy your littles bday!
@jlbaker08 hopefully this one is just as successful!
@elle-0409 hopefully those lines keep getting darker! I was just there too. Can you get in for some hcg testing? They didn’t hesitate when I called.
@313Meg all my pregnancies have been AMA so I have nothing to compare it to. 🤷♀️ Our son has been a bit of a unicorn baby, very chill, sweet, slept through the night quickly, etc. So our main concern is that we won’t get so lucky twice. 😂
Overall, I’m feeling ok, tired and moody but no real nausea yet. The ob-gyn for my last two pregnancies was not concerned about my age and said she didn’t really consider one AMA until 42. I am in the process of finding a new doctor to follow this pregnancy so am curious how the new physician and care will be. I received a referral today and am hoping I’ll have a first appointment soon.
How are you doing with everything at the moment? Symptoms are already coming on strong. I'm sooo bloated and gassy, my breasts are bigger, and I'm already getting aversions and waves of nausea. The symptoms make me feel hopeful after 9 months of trying for this baby. But of course I'm not looking forward to full-force morning sickness either. I never really thought of 37 as AMA before (my midwife encouraged me not to worry about it when I was 35 last time around) but the RE I was seeing the past couple months said my age was interfering with conception so now I guess my age is one more thing for me to have anxiety about oof. But I'm getting betas drawn this week and hopefully an ultrasound a couple weeks after that so hopefully that will put my mind at ease.
Overall doing well, a little on edge just hoping things progress normally due to not wanting to start over again due to my constant aging and not wanting my littles too far apart in age 🤣
I’m 3+4 Doing pretty well, it’s all still sinking in that this finally happened. Last time I made it through a full pregnancy I was 30, so I’m sure this will be a reality check for me.
How are you doing with everything at the moment? Mostly doing okay. Glad to have this board to let out some nervous energy while I wait to make appointments and stress about everything. 🙂 Also thankful for a group of AMA moms to talk to! I was 31 when I had my first, so I'll be curious what (if anything much) is different this time around.
How are you doing with everything at the moment? Freaking out! Just found out today. We were planning for it but it was our very first month of “trying”. This will be baby #3 but my first ama baby. I’m a little nervous because I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. I feel like I have two healthy boys and had two healthy pregnancies I’m freaked out that something is bound to go wrong this time.

How are you doing with everything at the moment: This is my first pregnancy and I’m really struggling with thinking about everything that can go wrong. I’m not having many symptoms which makes me nervous. My husband and I are traveling next week and while the doctor assures me the plane will not cause a miscarriage, I’m still nervous! I think I will feel better after the first doctor visit.
I am doing well so far! Normal symptoms I suppose- boobs hurt so bad, bloated beyond belief, headaches, little nausea but not too bad.
I am so grateful for this miracle - I had just received a referral from my doctor to see a fertility specialist and then found out I was pregnant!
This is my first and of course I have anxiety about it going smoothly due to my “AMA” - but I am the healthiest I have ever been. I need to stop going down rabbit holes on google - it only adds to my fear and anxiety regarding something being terribly wrong. So I have banned myself from researching unreliable sources and sites!
Had my first visit and ultrasound this past Friday and everything looked how it was supposed to haha. Heard the heartbeat! Due date is March 6, 2022. What a MIRACLE!!! 🙌🏻💕🤗
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to all for sharing your journey with me.
By the way, I have no idea how I got this username or whatever you call it, but I surely did not choose it. I will try to change it! I’m also new to this posting situation…😳😝
How are you doing with everything at the moment? I’m okay. Feeling icky but not nauseous or anything. Just feeling like I’m sick, if that makes sense. I don’t have my first appt until 8/17 and this is the longest I’ve waited for a first appt. I’m nervous and excited to see the baby on the ultrasound.
