I finally started watching Virgin River last week, and then I binged it over the weekend while I was sick so now I need something else to watch. Any good suggestions?
@modoodles I started watching Virgin River over the weekend. I'm on episode 4 or something like that. I recently finished "Shadow and Bone" and "Fate: The Winx Saga" both I really enjoyed.
@modoodles what kind of shows do you normally watch? Ive been thinking of trying virgin river but ive seen a lot of people really upset by the way the last season ended? so not sure if i want to watch it.
In the last year we have watched Virgin River, Imposters, New Girl, Schitt's Creek, Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and have rewatched Scandal and Grey's Anatomy and Station 19.
@modoodles love New Girl! it replaced "The Office" for us, but lately now "The League" has replaced "New Girl". And also a huge Greys fan. Did you watch Private practice? I really liked that spin off with Addison. If you are into Post Apocalyptic I loved 12 Monkeys the series. Its got time travel in it, which Im usually against because it gets too confusing, but this wasnt and it was so good. Another all time fav of mine is Super Natural, Ive been in love with Jensen Ackles since 1997 during his DOOL days. Arrow was another one I loved. I did NOT think I would get into that but my husband was watching it and I ended up loving it.
@livingoffpbjs also loved Private Practice- which I think completely explains my love for Amelia. ❤ I've been watching Grey's since the first season and my youngest kiddo's middle name is Grey! 🙈
I'll check out a few that you suggested. My 16vyear old daughter and husband really enjoyed Supernatural, but I didn't even make it past the first episode because I don't enjoy anything remotely scary. And yes, they definitely laughed at me.
@knottiebd26286716372d40 I don’t consider this baby a pandemic baby, but I might just be biased because I had DS2 in June 2020 when everything was locked down. I’m not sure what everyone else thinks though, so like I said, I might just be biased.
@knottiebd26286716372d40 We actually explicitly held off on TTC until the Pandemic was a little more under control so I wouldn't consider mine a Pandemic baby (even though it is still going strong). But the extent to which the Pandemic affects your life at any given time is so different regionally!
@knottiebd26286716372d40 Have you tried logging out and then back in? You might check the gender listed on your profile. You might have male checked instead of female by accident?
I have my first in-person appointment tomorrow and have been soooooo anxious to hear that heartbeat. But my cold isn't letting up at all so I'm not sure if I'll even be allowed to go - I assume probably not. I'll call in the morning and see what they want me to do. Fingers crossed for a miraculous recovery overnight!
Went in for my 12 week appt today, and baby is doing great! Nice strong heartbeat and we did my nipt bloodwork so I should hear about that next week! But I’ve lost 12lbs! Since my last appt! So I have a follow up appt in two weeks to see if my weight is still trending down.
@photographerwife I had my NIPT bloodwork done today too. I had my u/s last week at 10 weeks, by my doctor wanted to wait another week for the bloodwork so I just stopped by the lab today to get that done.
We had a poop situation in our house tonight. DS2’s diaper failed, and it went everywhere. Of course he was in the playroom so I didn’t notice when it happened. He came running to me and wiped it on my shirt and chin before I noticed. From what we can tell, he poked at the poop puddle with a paintbrush then got it on his hand. So that’s when he ran to me because my boys are both like me and hate having dirty hands. So yeah, I cleaned up a poop puddle, poop paintbrush, poop covered toddler, and myself. Luckily I had an old shirt on so, while it was gross, it wasn’t a big deal laundry-wise. DH’s contribution was un-diapering DS2 with no cleanup supplies while I was cleaning myself and the floor. I ended up wiping him off before giving him a bath while DH held him straight out from himself. I’m still grossed out. I literally collected pig poop in a bag for 3 years while in grad school, and human poop is 1000% times worse than that.
@makingbacon oh noooo that sounds awful. The one benefit of having a kid who is perpetually constipated is we rarely have to deal with these poop situations.
My first in-person appointment today was officially switched to telehealth and then I'll go in for the physical portion next week. Kind of disappointed but I wouldn't feel right going into a waiting room full of pregnant people when I'm not feeling well. I had an at-home doppler when I was pregnant with my son and I can't remember if I still have it. Kind of tempted to dig it up and try to find a heartbeat on my own but don't want to panic myself if I can't find it.
@makingbacon I would 100% have been sick. I don't know how you second (or more) time momma's do it! I can barely care for myself still. @kaf1788 Shoot, sorry you had to do telehealth. Hope you get feeling better soon. I would find the doppler but with the mindset of you may not find the HB and that doesn't mean anything.
@makingbacon I find baby poop stories hilarious lol. Sorry about the mess though, and the men's reactions make things even funnier. When our daughter was probably 4 or 5 days old my husband went to go change her and he ended up getting poop on him, he can not stand poop and gags easily. Well he saw the poop on him and started yelling for me so I ran in there, his gagging and his face had me laughing so hard...... so hard and like I said, I had just had our daughter less than a week before so I ended up peeing myself (not like a leak, but a full on pee). Luckily I was wearing those horribly attractive giant pads so it worked pretty much like a diaper. But there we were in the middle of the night, new parents, baby covered in poop, Daddy had poop on him and Mommy peeing her pants. I told him to just go jump in the shower while I cleaned up our daughter and then myself.
@kaf1788 That stinks that your appointment was switched to a virtual visit. I understand where you’re coming from with not wanting to expose anyone else to the germs. Hopefully you can get in soon for an in-person visit.
@lexilougolden It’s definitely different when there are other littles in the house to take care of, but we just do what we can. On days I feel good, I cook dinner after work. On days I don’t feel good, we eat peanut butter sandwiches outside. We have the boys on a general schedule (we follow the same pattern, but don’t stress about specific times) so that helps a lot.
@livingoffpbjs Baby poop stories are really entertaining lol. When DS2 was an infant, he had a projectile poop incident where it shot from the diaper changing area to the door. DH was cleaning it up, and another shot went by his head. He started freaking out that it could’ve gone in his mouth, I was laughing so hard I couldn’t get the diaper on, and all I could say was “Then shouldn’t you close your mouth?!”
@livingoffpbjs Poop stories are both horrifying, and extremely entertaining
@makingbacon something similar happened to my poor DH when DD1 was a few weeks old. He yelled at me from the nursery in the middle of the night and I walked into the room to find projectile poop on him, in the crib, all over her teddy bear, it was priceless. He's standing there with the diaper half on with a look of disbelief on his face. Oh those memorable middle of the night changes....
We might need a Friday Fashion thread. I just bought my first pair of maternity pants on Amazon. I like them (low on the belly) and the color is nice. But they aren't long enough. I'm not sure if that's a style-- longer than capris but a few inches short of pants. I know nothing about fashion...is this a thing? Maybe I should post a pic. They're too big right now too...but I'm guessing they'll fit nice in a few months.
Told him he’s going to grow big and then he’s going to come out and play and like motioned out the general direction he’s going to come out. Haha So now he’s saying (having just woken up from sleep)…
Brother went in the mouth and fell down. His heart is in mommy’s tummy. Then he gets big big big and fall out the pants near the stinky toes.
Close enough…

@JWatt5 we haven’t told the kids yet this time, but when I was pregnant earlier this year, Brielle used to have me open my mouth so she could talk to her brother in my tummy 🤣
We drove 3 hours one for my neice’s birthday party yesterday, and then I had a family bridal shower to go to that was 2 hours away. I’m so pooped and need another day to catch up. I don’t want to work tomorrow. 😫
@alylove11 ugh I simultaneously love that we have the ability to have busy weekends again but hate when it’s Sunday night and I feel like I wasn’t able to rest at all!
and I’m taking my bitchfest to the Randoms 😂. If my husband complains one more time about how *~exhausted~* he is after choosing to stay up until 1 am last night knowing it was his turn to get up with the kiddo this morning I may murder him. Pregnancy hormones are coming in hottttt. But seriously, as a person who is dangerously tired at all times no matter how much sleep I get because I am growing a human, learn to own your decisions and stop bitching to me about it 🙄
@kaf1788 I just had an argument with my husband about this. I told him if he wanted to wait till Tuesday, I'd help with some stuff around the house because I'm exhausted from the weekend and wanted Monday to recuperate. He tried telling me he was exhausted too, and I should just suck it up. He's tired because he stayed up till 3am watching tv, knowing we had a busy day planned today. I was trying to be nice in saying he should put off some stuff for a day and I'd help, and he comes at me acting like I'm choosing to be tired and nauseous all the time.
He did buy me an ice cream after my rage filled rant as an attempted apology.

@livingoffpbjs I am DEAD xD
I'm just glad to be feeling better tbh. I can finally stand coffee again.
