I am soo grateful that the weekend is finally almost here! I'm looking forward to taking my son swimming tomorrow, and hopefully Sunday too. The pool is our summer happy place. And tomorrow I'm meeting up with friends for evening drinks (minus the drinks for me, haha), I'm so excited to tell them I'm pregnant!
@jlbaker08 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I haven't been to a water park in forever, and it sounds like a ton of fun!
@jessier19 Summer time pools are the aren't they? Not only because they get out an enormous amount of child energy but it always seems to create these amazing happy memories. We love ours!
We are headed to that swim meet tomorrow. DD is only 5 but they let her little swimmer group do a special kick board race in between the actual bigger kids races. Then hopefully it'll be a fun day at the pool. Kids always sleep so well after a pool day, I love it!
We have a busy-ish weekend planned. I'm taking a half day today to get a lunch, massage, and a manicure with my bff. We have both been TTC for a while and commiserating about it .....TW.....
She had a loss a couple of weeks ago and ended up in the hospital with an infection. I got my BFP the day after that so the timing to share the news with her literally could not be worse.....
She already knows and is ok (i think), but i'll be glad to get some time to hang out and relax without work and kids. just wish i could have a drink!
tomorrow we have a kiddo bday party. 4 yr old? maybe 5? idk. Sunday the in laws are coming and MH and i will go out for dinner!
@jlbaker08 happy birthday! It sounds like you have a fun day planned!
@jessier19 have fun sharing the news! That is so exciting. And your pool day sounds fun too.
We are headed out of town for my sister's wedding tomorrow. I'm super excited but also stressed beyond belief. I also tried my dress on last night and it is so tight (and not in a good way). I've definitely gained weight since I got it fitted last month. The pregnancy bloat is sooo real.
@jessier19 sounds like you have a fun weekend planned! Enjoy the time with your friends!
@jlbaker08 happy birthday!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating!
@Lcardinal04 I love the kickboard race for the little swimmers!! My siblings and I all swam growing up, and I remember my five-year-old sister having to race a 25 freestyle and she was not into it. Kickboard race would have been much more her speed at that age.
@morgantu hope you have a great day with your friend!
@kgg2241 hope everything at the wedding goes off without a hitch and that you can relax and enjoy the weekend!
Big weekend plans over here involve moving to a bigger apartment! Which, by Monday, will be great (I'll soon be transitioning into a job that has me working from home a few days a week more permanently, and we will definitely want the extra bedroom come spring), but I wouldn't necessarily call it the most fun weekend
@jlbaker08 Happy birthday! 🎂🎊 Have fun at the water park.
@Lcardinal04 Yay for pool days! I feel like I could still benefit from a kick board. 😂 @morgantu Oof, that’s so tough. I’m sorry to hear about what your friend had to go through. I hope you two have a relaxing day.
@kgg2241 Good luck with the speech! You’re going to be great. Just speak from love and the rest will follow.
@trails15 Good luck with the move! I hope it goes smoothly.
DD has french class tomorrow morning, which is always interesting because she’s 21 months and doesn’t really focus on what’s going on. My husband and I really need to buckle down and find a place so we can move back to Orlando ASAP. It’s tough to find the right place virtually.

We finally got some guidance at work on our return to office. Legal dept will head back starting in Oct and the expectation is that by January we’re spending a minimum of 3 days in the office a week. And they said we’ll have 2 remote work days/week going forward. It’s what I expected but I’m so curious how that will feel. I’ve gotten so used to working from home, I’m anxious about going back to office and figuring out schedules. And it kinda cracks me up that we went home due to Covid when I was midway through 2nd trimester with my son and now I’ll be going back to the office at a similar point in this pregnancy. I know folks will be thinking, “wait, wasn’t she pregnant last time I saw her? “ So weird!
We have a super busy weekend planned. My husband's company picnic tomorrow (kind of hoping it gets rained out) and then a Jack and Jill in the evening. Sunday is dedicated to working on our fixer-upper! My DH will be putting up the ceilings while I prep everything for painting.
@kgg2241 urg yes bloat! I've been working SO hard to lose weight. And I feel like a blob again haha. It doesn't help that I'm STARVING all the time!
Does anyone have any ideas for easy, handy, healthy snacks that I can keep on hand? I didn't have this problem last time. I had food aversions like crazy. Now I feel like an empty pit. We can't have egg or peanut in the house. I also can't eat pineapple, mushrooms or walnut or seafood.
Of course I'm doing fruit, and veggies cut up. But I'm drawing a blank for other healthy snacks! (I've also done cheese and crackers with toasted pecans and dates, which was delicious and satisfying, but SO high calorie..)
@goldfishcraker I'm loving hummus right now and raw sweet peas...also I always find that carbonated water keeps me pretty full during pregnancy when I can't eat:)
@goldfishcraker can you do other nut butters like almond or cashew? Those are yummy. I like having a variety of textures so having crunchy things is helpful for me. Veggie straws are a good snack, popcorn, rice cakes or pitas with fun toppings, etc. I love ricotta open face sandwiches with honey and peaches.
Long story short, he basically didn't go to sleep until after 4 am (there was a 2 hour stint before midnight that he did sleep poorly).
There was so much screaming and crying. 7 hours of my exhausted, pregnant ass, rocking him (and I have a back injury so I was in tears). (Plus he skipped his nap again yesterday).
Now I don't know what to do. He slept until 9. Normally he's up 6:15-7:15.
Nap is usually 12:20
I can't push nap later because he definitely won't sleep tonight. But he is certainly not going to nap on time today. Do I just skip nap all together?
We were SUPPOSED to go across the city to see my parents and go swimming this morning. But obviously that didn't happen.
Do I take him there for the whole day now? And risk him still WANTING a nap, and not being able to have one?
I only slept 3 hours. After being awake for 22+ hours. I'm in tears.
And now I'm starving. But I can't eat because the anxiety about tonight being a repeat, is crushing me.
@goldfishcraker I feel this. Night before last mine was up at 1am and didn’t fall asleep until 5am, up wide awake at 730. I had just barely fallen asleep before he woke up (thanks pregnancy insomnia) so I was running on 2 hours of sleep yesterday. We still did nap at normal time and i totally napped too. Just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone.
@runnergirl2018 oh my gosh that sucks! I'm glad you were able to get a nap in too! I'm trying to get him down for nap...it's been an hour. Every time I try to put him down, he freaks out and starts screaming again. Doesn't bode well for tonight.
@Panaceia I might have to get my husband to book off work tonight.. I hate to do it, but I don't think I can do a second night right now (still struggling with the pregnancy fatigue and insomnia). DS has been miserable all morning. I was hoping to nap if he napped. But I'm about to give up on the nap
I'm trying SO hard to not yell at him. It's not his fault that I'm pregnant and have no patience right now! And whatever is going on that's prevdnting him from sleeping, isn't his fault either.
@goldfishcraker I hear you! My girls both HATE sleep. I have no helpful advice at all. We legit go to bed at 1:30 am every night. If you can get your H to help out that would be amazing! Hopefully your DS will end up getting tired early, pass out, and sleep like 14 hours tonight;)
@elle-0409 it actually went really well! I was surprised at how easy it actually came to me. Everyone told me my toast was the best, though who knows 😂.
@goldfishcraker I hope you and the toddler get a good night’s sleep tonight! I have no words of wisdom, just solidarity in the helplessness of sleep regressions.

TLDR: sleep regressions suck

I can't imagine such late nights! Kudos mama, you're amazing!!
@goldfishcraker how did last night go? was it any better?
It was a fight to get him to go down, but once he did, he did amazing!
I couldn't fall asleep till 1, because I was convinced he would wake up any minute.
The thunderstorm woke me at 5. But he slept through it.
He screamed for mama at 615, but by the time I peed he was back asleep!🥳
I wasn't able to fall back asleep after the storm (achy body), but we are both in SUCH a better mood today! Thank goodness!
