Sharing inspiration for those of us who are planning to have a separate nursery for this baby.
How far along are you into the planning process? Any themes, color palettes, styles that have caught your interest? Any cute nursery photos you're using for inspiration?

I know not everyone is into nursery "themes" (and I'll admit, color-palette based rooms probably age better with the kiddo) but I think they're fun. For DS, we did a rainforest theme (pics in spoiler. One of the pics is more of an in-progress photo but it's one of few that I have that shows more of the layout of the room)

In hindsight, putting potentially interesting items on high shelves was a bad idea and I'd advise against it, but luckily DS hasn't been the type to try to climb up and get to them.

Still trying to settle on a theme for this baby (a girl, but looking at more gender-neutral ideas). I've considered space/starry night, underwater, and garden (though this strikes me as too similar to the rainforest thing).

I'm planning on a national parks theme this time. For my first boy I did Lion King and for my daughter I did a Mary Poppins "Jolly Holiday" theme. I haven't done much so far besides order crib sheets.

We aren’t really doing a nursery for this baby, because he will just be in our room for most of the first year, but we are completely redoing DS’s room into his dream “big boy” room and he wants it all dinosaur themed so that’s our big design project before baby gets here.

DS’s nursery was constellation themed. Mostly cool grays with gender neutral star patterned sheets and I made some animal art with corresponding constellations for the walls, I’ll have to try and find a pic. He was barely in there the first year though so we just don’t even want to mess with a nursery, and let DS keep that room until they are both older.

For DS we had an animal theme that I still love (some pics below). We aren't doing a new nursery for Baby 2 since she'll be in our room for at least 6 months, and by then we'll move DS to a new toddler room and she'll take the nursery 😁

My oldest had a Star Wars theme nursery. My second had a soft pinks/gold theme. My third stayed in our room for a while then moved in with his brother. I have a feeling this baby will be in our room for a while because we need to turn DH’s office into the boy’s room and re do the current boys room into baby girl’s room. I’m not in a hurry to get it done bc DS2 is only 3 and the office is far away from the other bedrooms. DD really wants to share her room with her baby sister but I’m not sure about it since there will be a 6 year age difference.

My girls have always just reused DD1’s nursery decor. She had a woodland themed nursery.

Since this baby is supposedly a boy I finally feel justified in buying new nursery stuff since almost everything has pink or purple in it. I’m a sexist pig 🤷‍♀️ Lol

im trying to decide between an outer space theme or a very subtle Toy Story theme- light blue walls with clouds and some primary colors mixed in. I might throw in a giant Mickey Mouse watch style clock.
