Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Thursday 7/1

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 15

    WAYDTGKU: pnv, opk, Mac, kindara

R/R: H panicked and nearly backed out of TTC. He’s under a lot of stress at work and is struggling to find time for himself. I get it and wish I could fix it, beyond picking up more slack at home and with the property. I’m grateful that he’s sticking it out for me, for now, but I realize this may be a very limited TTC journey.

    CD: 8

    WAYDTGKU: CM, CP, temping, OPK

R/R: It's not 95 degrees out! But it is cloudy and buggy.

    CS/Q: Meh. Not ATM.

@mamanbebe sorry for this tough conversation. I hope he finds a way to find more time for himself and you guys find a balance of managing all your current obligations with TTC!
  • @mamanbebe I'm sorry things are stressful for your husband. I'm glad you guys are keeping going, though. I hope the stress on him eases a bit soon.

    Month/Cycle: 9/8

    CD: 15

WAYDTGKU: bbt, cm, opks, cinnamon supplements, metformin

R/R: Not a lot going on today. My second shirt came out great yesterday, I'm very happy with it. Trying to decide now if I want to work on cleaning the living room today since it's garbage night, or if I want to sew some more, or if I want to just laze around and cross stitch. Decisions, decisions.

CS/Q: My OPK yesterday was ~0.4 on Pre-Mom, which if the past is any indication means I'll probably get a positive today or tomorrow! O tomorrow or Saturday would be the earliest I've ever ovulated and I'm very excited about it. Especially because O this week puts me in the right timing to get my CD3 bloods and ultrasound done before I go on vacation if I don't get a BFP. Which also means I can start medicated cycles sooner as well, if needed.

  • Missed tags yesterday so adding them here!

@mamanbebe I'm not sure what I want to do to be honest! I'm just about finished with a certificate that will allow me to get my admin license if I choose, but I kind of want to take this next year as soul-searching to figure out what I really want to do in education. I think ideally I would like to be involved with policy but that will take a bit to get into. Sorry to hear that YH is rethinking TTC. Sometimes in the middle of a lot of stress everything seems impossible so I get. Is there any sign of work letting up a bit for him?

@b_1029 on the east coast so not as hot but still pretty hot! Ugh sorry about YH's flare up. Hopefully it goes away soon...

@pajamstagrams yay for a regular cycle!

@fantasyflyte nice work on that early productivity yesterday! I'm so jealous you have access to a pool. How were the air fryer sweet potatoes? Also re your current cycle, oh my goodness, so exciting for you to O this early. It sounds like the interventions you have been doing are definitely helping.

@SmashJam I am a teacher but taking a leave next year to finish up my phd. I'm tutoring someone in reading comprehension/writing. Also re your boss's email: nothing like an early morning novel to read haha. Also +1 to buggy. I was constantly waving them out of my face on my walk with the dog this morning.

    Month/Cycle: 14/1AL

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: b complex, cbad, charting

R/R: Crazy thunderstorms here last night - I was excepting our yard to be an absolute mess but thankfully it wasn't this morning. This also means that the heat finally broke, though, hooray! Celebrated with a mid-morning walk with the dog in the woods, it was still pretty muggy and buggy though so she is totally pooped now and snoozing next to me on the couch. Also - it's July y'all! Wow. I definitely took the last two weeks of June to do absolutely nothing which is fine with me as I needed it emotionally, but now it's time to get back to work! Dissertating, organizing, and just crossing things off the to-do list today!

CS/Q: I wore my TD last night. Win.
  • @fameonmain2 they were pretty good! I followed a recipe I found online that said to preheat the air fryer to 380F and cook them for 10 minutes, shaking the basket/flipping them halfway through. They were a little burned, so next time I'm going to try 350F, I think.

@SmashJam oops, I didn't see that we posted at the same time, sorry for missing you! I feel you on the weather. It's been hoooooot and humid here, and we were supposed to get good thunderstorms to break it last evening, but we got a grand total of 0.05 inches of rain. We're supposed to get a good couple inches today and tomorrow, though, so that'll be good. It's very dry here.
  • @mamanbebe sometimes you just have to take it a day at a time. Hope YH can find some good outlets to reduce his stress.

@SmashJam 95 is toasty! Is it also humid for you? I'd rather have no bugs than cooler temperatures. They're so damn annoying.

@fantasyflyte whatever you decide to do I hope you have fun! Lots of good options

@fameonmain2 I laugh how the coasts are just sweltering while I'm over here in the midwest enjoying a walk outside while it's 72 :D

    Month/Cycle: 8 AL

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: temping, opks, cm, gf/df diet, supplements, antihistamines starting 4dpo

R/R: it's my Friday woohoo!! I had such a great therapy appointment yesterday too. In the end we talked about going longer than a month between appointments or on an as needed basis. I was in such a good place yesterday it really felt wonderful to be "graduated" in a way. So I won't talk with her until late August but I'm thinking after that I really might just need appointments as needed. Maybe up next is graduating from here :smirk:

CS/Q: my OPK reached 0.63 so I should get a positive today woohoo! My anniversary conception might be coming true!!

  • @SmashJam Did you all get hit with the torrential downpours last night? Despite the muggy/buggy weather return I'm really glad to have the fans off and the doors and windows open again.

@fantasyflyte That's really exciting about the timely O! What kind of shirt did you make? I am an aspirational sewer who wants to make everything but makes nothing with a bunch of patterns and fabrics stowed away haha.

@fameonmain2 Policy would be a really interesting and fulfilling direction! Especially after how everything was turned upside down with Covid. I can't remember if I knew this, but where on the east coast are you? Seems like you, @smashjam and I are all living in buggy muggy paradise right now.

Re: H, I think there is the potential that this is just a bad run of weeks for him at work, but it's hard to tell. He likes his team and the owner, but I think he ends up having to take on a lot of extra work that he didn't anticipate. It might just be the way of the role though, no matter the company, but hopefully one day, either at this place or another, he will find some freedom and balance.
  • @inthewoods23 Yay "Friday" and double-yay to an excellent therapy appt! I hope your week continues on the up and up from here with your positive O and anniversary!
  • @mamanbebe hugs ❤️❤️

    @smashjam ooof I'd take 95 degrees over bugs 😬

@fantasyflyte ooh, I've got my fingers crossed for you for early O! That would be such great timing!

    @fameonmain2
nothing wrong with taking a few weeks off, especially after a loss. I did very little after mine, just wanted to relax and process.

@inthewoods23 I hope you have a fun anniversary then!

    Month/Cycle: 1AL

    CD: 14

    WAYDTGKU: benched

R/R: got my car back this morning! Something about fuel injectors needing to be replaced, but it was covered under warranty, apparently, so I didn't pay a cent! 🙌

CS/Q: nope. Pretty sure yesterday was O, but as always, best to wait for CH to confirm.
  • @mamanbebe we did get a lot of rain yesterday afternoon, but I missed the crazy storm. I think I was driving between them-I headed to Quechee around 3 and they had just had such a bad storm by the time I got there that there were detours for all the trees down and no one had cell service. I think people there were still without power this morning! It just basic stormed here.
