High Risk Check-In 06/08

We haven't done this thread before, but I figure now is as good of a time as any to start.

How far along are you?

Why are you high risk?

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?

Any concerns/news currently?

How are you coping being high risk?

Any questions?

Re: High Risk Check-In 06/08

  • How far along are you? 22+2

Why are you high risk? previous pre-eclampsia, AMA, overweight

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I've been monitoring my blood pressure on my own every few days to establish a normal range for myself. The doctor didn't order it, but it's giving me peace of mind.

Any concerns/news currently? nothing concerning right now. My BPs at home have been consistently in the normal range and consistently lower than in the Dr office. I'm trying to remember when my feet started swelling with my pre-e last time (my only symptom other than suddenly high BP), but it looks like I deleted those gross pictures.

How are you coping being high risk? I've finally accepted that I am high risk. I was in denial about it until recently, but I've realized that any additional monitoring by my OB or myself can only help keep me and my baby healthy.

    Any questions? none

How far along are you? 20w2d

Why are you high risk? Covid+, hx of preeclampsia, hx of gestational hypertension, placenta circumvallate (which is new news and explains the bleeding I had this pregnancy)

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? At home BP monitoring, growth scan at 32 weeks

Any concerns/news currently? Well, I mean the placenta abnormality is concerning news in general….

How are you coping being high risk? Well, after googling, I’m not coping well. There is a lot of risks associated with this and I’m panicking……I’m also glad I asked for 24 and 28 week appointments now.

    Any questions? So, so many

  • How far along are you? 22 weeks

Why are you high risk? Bicornuate uterus, ama

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? No, but we're doing monthly growth scans.

Any concerns/news currently? I'm having contractions already, which didn't start with my daughter until the third trimester. This baby seems to be bigger than she was so far, but then she seemed on track until the third trimester when we realized she just wasn't growing anymore. So who knows how this will turn out.

How are you coping being high risk? Eh, fine. I really like and trust my doctor, and feel I'm in good hands. I will breathe easier once I reach the fetal viability point, which is in a couple weeks.

    Any questions? 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • IDK if I'm considered "high risk." My delivery is high risk, but my pregnancy is not. I'm not sure at this point if I'll have any additional monitoring or testing as baby grows. At this time, there isn't protocol that includes more monitoring for my situation,  but it really depends on what the perinatalogists say after my doctor consults with them this week.

No questions. But so ready to start planning a delivery so I can feel confident about it. Hoping the perinatalolgists approve delivery between 37 and 38 weeks!
  • How far along are you? 21 weeks

Why are you high risk? AMA & previous open myomectomy, IVF

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Fetal echo this week and will do 4 growth appointments in addition to regular OB appointments.

Any concerns/news currently? Nothing now since the fetal echo was all normal. They also got the last images missed at the anatomy scan, so I’m feeling good right now.

How are you coping being high risk? It’s fine, because I knew I would be high risk before even getting pregnant. Honestly, I’m just happy to have access to such great doctors; I feel like they check everything and I appreciate how thorough they are.

    Any questions? None now.
