December 2021 Moms

Ten Things Tuesday 6/8

1. I'm procrastinating rn so I thought I'd bring this back.
2. I don't want to clean my house yet.
3. Getting ready for my college kid to come home for the summer so I have a lot of stuff to get in order.
4. Thinking about doing the sahm thing this time around but have a lot of *feelings* about it.
5. I have been eating croissants from the bakery every day for breakfast since I've been too exhausted to cook and I am not mad about it.
6. I am *so* tired.
7. My friend is having a book release party this week and I am already imagining ways I can get out of it so I don't have to see a million people and talk to them  :D
8. I'll end up going (and prob enjoying myself) but the social anxiety after this past year is real.
9. I am so sore from yoga on Sunday! I feel like I am so out of shape for taking the past month off.
10. V excited for my appointment tomorrow. Hoping to shake some of this PGAL first trimester anxiety off with an uneventful visit.

Re: Ten Things Tuesday 6/8

  • @bkjade the book release sounds fun, but I would also be trying to get out of it due to anxiety.  I hope your appointment tomorrow soothes some of your nerves!

    1. Hubby told me I need to start cooking food again because frozen food is getting old.
    2.  Cooking is exhausting and makes me nauseous so I dont wanna do it.
    3.  I feel like my entire family is suffering nutritionally during this pregnancy and I feel kind of bad.
    4. Got my NIPT results back, looks good!
    5. I am so tempted to call and ask baby's sex, but hubby doesn't want to know until we find out together at the anatomy scan.  I don't know if I can wait.
    6. I worked today and yesterday (and tomorrow).  3 days a month isn't honestly enough for me.  I like the break from my toddler, but the work is in a school for children with special needs, so it's pretty exhausting, too.
    7.  MIL was late today again and it's driving me nuts.  She is doing us a favor by watching DD so I can work and make a couple extra bucks each month, but I asked her to be here by 8 and she has shown up 8:20 both days so far this week.
    8.  My skin is stretching so much on my stomach already and I'm soooo itchy.
    9.  I am burping like an old man lately. Gross.
    10. Finding 10 things is harder than I thought.

    1. I am so proud of myself and my caffeine intake this pregnancy! Last pregnancy I struggled!
    2. This week is so busy compared to the last few weeks, soooo tired.
    3. Getting ready for DD’s second birthday next birthday next month, how did this happen?!?
    4. I keep crying at sad/sappy things. 🤣
    5. I got my Rhogam yesterday, holy crap my butt hurts!!
    6. I had a super busy weekend with two social events, and I was totally worn out!
    7. I still haven’t told my work I’m pregnant (14+1 today). I just don’t feel ready 😬
    8. I’m trying to find some balance with work/home life, so I’ve been trying to take weekends off. This has been amazing!
    9. I haven’t needed Unisom/B6 as much this pregnancy, where last pregnancy I had to take it almost the entire time.
    10. I feel like my list is totally random, is that the point? 🙈

@bkjade yay appt! I hope it goes well! And yes I’m sooooo tired too.

@scaredunprepared yay NIPT! I’m so glad that everything looks good!

  • bkjadebkjade member
lol @scaredunprepared #1 same. We have ordered take-out or had pre-made foods almost every day the past couple of months 😹 - the thought of cooking also makes me nauseous so 🤷and #7 - I would be frustrated too! I have low tolerance for people who are constantly late 😐

    @rgn12 - #10 yes! 🙂

@scaredunprepared that is frustrating about MIL.  It is even harder cause she is doing you a "favour" so complaining makes you look bad but it isn't like you are wanting a couple hours to yourself to go for a walk -  you are scheduled to WORK.  That is a tough one.. hopefully next time she is better at planning her morning so she can be there on time.

@bkjade totally feel the procrastination and not wanting to clean the house...

@rgn12 I ended up telling my work day after I had my appointment at 7 weeks.  Seems crazy and I kind of said definitely early etc  but my Gyno said I needed specific tests done as soon as possible (especially working in a school) and my school has a company doctor they book it through.  I totally understand why you wait though and in a different job or situation, I would have too.  It is somewhat frustrating that a lot of staff already know and my close friends and family dont yet.

    1. This is my first pregnancy and to be honest, I am starting to think that pregnancy is....just wanting to do a billion things before baby comes but then simultaneously just wanting to lie in bed or sit on couch and literally count days and hours til next appointment because you just want to see/hear that everything is going well.
    2. I am hoping this feeling goes away in second trimester....
    3. I am soooo good at organizing a plan of what needs to be done in the house... I am so Mari Kondo fan and Wannabe Minimalist
    4. .....but I am sooooo bad at executing the plan....and havent even done the first "step".
    5. I am still so tired...especially after a terrible sleep last night but when I went for a nap I couldn't sleep...
    6. As I said to my husband I will go for a walk shortly, we heard thunder...
    7. Anyone else craving sour cherry candies?? I can't find them anywhere.... but other sour gummies are sufficing...for now...
    8. I have an 18 hole golf tournament on Saturday and I feel exhausted thinking about it.
    9.  @scaredunprepared you are right...it is hard to think of 10 things.
    10.  So the NIPT results will not automatically share the gender right?
  • @j-to-the-amie you should have had the option to have the gender included in the report for the NIPT.  I think if you don't choose that you don't want to know the gender they will automatically include it.
  • bkjadebkjade member
@j-to-the-amie #7 I have been craving *any* sour 🍬 and #8 omg I’m exhausted thinking about it for you lol!
  • 1. I've been feeling so bad this pregnancy that it's been messing with my head and I haven't been engaged here or really anywhere
    2. I decided to monitor my blood pressure at home since I'd been feeling so crappy and turns out it's already high and I'm kind of freaking out
    3. I can't go on bed rest at 11 weeks
    4. Although I am hoping that I can convince my job to continue letting me work from home instead of going back into the office full time
    5. DD was up at 345 this morning and was generally a nightmare
    6. When I dropped her off at daycare her teacher told me she's an angel at school
    7. My sister in law is also pregnant right now, which is fun because we were both pregnant together with our firsts
    8. I get hungry so quickly but nothing ever seems that appealing
    9. We got a patio put in this week (after waiting over 6 weeks for them to start)
    10. I can't wait to sit by the firepit with smores this weekend
  • @rgn12- my rhogam shot both times has been in there arm! Crazy how different places do it differently

@scaredunprepared good to know that I should mention that I don't want to know the sex.. thouggghh if they accidentally put it on there.... wouldnt be end of the world  ;) hehe jk

@bkjade I am specifically thinking of these and can't find them anywhere...  *sigh*  though I must say there is quite a variety of sour candy... though I accidentally bought peaches thinking they were sour...was so disappointed...  hehe.. I swear I am a rational human being and candy didn't control my life at all before this... I haven't bought candy in years and years before pregnancy. I am usually more a choco fan.
@melbel0824 sorry to hear you are having a rough pregnancy.  Hopefully clears up soon... and you end up with some energy. They (books and websites I read) keep promising this energy as of second trimester...I am holding onto their words tightly.    I know the hungry but don't know what I even want to eat feeling...though I do know if I had an option to eat a Smore I would be totally in it/on top of it (not sure the preposition I am wanting to use..but in the end, most important part is to know  I would be devouring it....)
  • bkjadebkjade member
@melbel0824 - sorry your pregnancy has been rough. Same as @j-to-the-amie I’m really hoping that as we get into our 2nd trimesters we all start feeling better!
  • @bkjade  jealous of your croissants, and I hope you appointment went well!
@scaredunprepared cooking is just not a fun thing right now..  and that is super frustrating about your MIL 😒
@rgn12 weekends off are the best!!
@j-to-the-amie a golf tournament does sound fun, but exhausting!!
@melbel0824 so sorry this pregnancy has been so rough! And it certainly doesn’t help when your kids don’t let you sleep at night! I hope it’s gets better as we enter trimester 2!

    1. I’m sorry for not popping on here lately, it’s been busy at work which is usually when i find time to mess around on my phone 😬
    2. I really dislike this app, it’s just not easy to work from a phone.
    3. I got excited when I saw baby is already the size of a lemon!
    4. We went camping last week thurs-Sunday. It was lovely and couldn’t have asked for better weather!
    5. Harvest will soon be in full swing here and both DH and I will both be working looong hours 😥. My house always suffers so much during harvest.
    6. I grew a garden this year and it is doing so well, I’m so proud of myself! I just hope I can keep it alive in the next few weeks 😬.
    7. We keep finding rattlesnakes within a mile of our place and I am not okay with it.
    8. Today is moms bday and I’m so excited about Olive Garden tonight! (I may have pushed to eat there.. ha!)
    9. I had a tick attached right along my underwear line last night. Not. Cool. 😩
    10. Within 5 nights, our dog got into a scuffle with 3 raccoons. He’s gonna get himself killed. The last one nearly drowned him. My poor dog is getting too old for that, but I’m pretty sure he’s an adrenaline junkie.
  • @savedbygrace1213- girl where do you live with these rattlesnakes and crazy raccoons?! Do you have a farm too? What are you harvesting?!

    Back for # 2!
  • 1. I was not ready for vacation to be over, but it’s nice to be back in our routine.
    2. I feel like a shit mom, we all got so burned, despite applying sunblock religiously.
    3. I was diagnosed with diabetes type II right before vacation and that’s just cruel.
    4. I’m craving sour worms and octopuses.
    5. I finally understand all the Publix hype.
    6. I’d much rather name 10 baby girls, than one baby boy. I’m just not fond of boy names.
    7. My nausea and low energy came back last week, just in time for vacation.
    8. I’m also not in the wanting to cook club, but I’m also tired of eating out.
    9. I’m so excited that we’re in second tri territory.
    10. I’m already tired of checking my blood sugar 4x a day and doing insulin 4x a day, that so many pokes for the next 28 weeks.

I’m really whiny this week. I’m sorry,
  • @JamieH2000 we do live on a farm in the middle of no where, Kansas. Growing up I never remember seeing a rattlesnake until last year. Found 4 last spring on the same stretch of dirt road on my walks. They are small prairie rattlers but I still never want to see another one! Wheat harvest is just around the corner! Everyone is gearing up! It’s always and exciting, but exhausting time.

@eggsbene42 whine away! I would be to if I had to poke myself that many times! I hope your vacation was wonderful regardless. Where did you go?
  • @eggsbene42 yes, whine away! Type 1 over here so I’m always willing to listen! It gets so old and exhausting- I feel your pain!
  • @savedbygrace1213 we went to Siesta Key, FL. It was wonderful.

    @midwestmomma2 thanks for commiserating!
  • @eggsbene42 I am opposite... I feel that my husband and I are able to come up with so many boys names that "work" well... and then girls names... I find can be anywhere on a spectrum of sounding old...sounding slutty...sounding weak..sounding...  you get my point...I feel I second guess where it belongs... and then I am a teacher so there are so many names that automatically get taken off as a possibility.

@savedbygrace1213 I am slowly looking forward to the golf tournament... I think it will be fun.  Haven't played 18 holes in a long time...but is a ladies tournament. I am also nervous cause the lady golfers at my course are generally older but partiers...there will be sparkling wines and drinks at the start and throughout most likely.  I am going to be more of an advocate for alchy free options now on! Lol ..before it didn't occur to me people may not want to drink or can't drink because I have always been someone that says yes to a drink.... until now obv.

P.s that sounds so cool that you live on a farm in Kansas.... though that sounds way more exhausting than golf... !
  • @savedbygrace1213- that is such a cool farm! But not cool about the snakes. Hopefully it was just like one big brood and they will leave!! I can’t imagine harvesting while pregnant. I hope it’s not too exhausting for you!

@j-to-the-amie I totally get it, I told around 7 weeks last time too! I was so sick and canceling and not coming to things that I always go to so people were wondering if I was okay haha.

@JamieH2000 really? That’s interesting! I was like please tell me this is not a shot in the butt… but no such luck! Haha

@savedbygrace1213 I dislike the app too! I miss notifications and messages and everything. I received a handful of messages from another group and didn’t see them for months

  • @rgn12 Do you possibly live in Texas?  I ask because a colleague from Texas told me she got shots (even as a teen) almost always in the butt.  And honestly.. I have NEVER received a shot up the butt... I feel this sounds like it could be a Texas thing hehe.  :D  o:)
  • rgn12rgn12 member
@j-to-the-amie nope, NC! Most of my shots have been in the arm except a heavy duty antibiotic one time when I was super sick and these rhogam shots!
  • I think rhogam is always in the bum. I’ve only ever had rhogam in the bum and penicillin (thanks Army).
  • 1. My energy is always super low.
    2. I’ve been telling myself that I’m going to start walking and exercising buttttt I haven’t started🥴
    3. I’ve been eating watermelon like crazy!
    4. I love icees too (cold and fruity)
    5. I’m so ready to know the gender of Baby B!
    6. Sometimes I have mommy guilt because I haven’t been active with my 2 boys yet for the summer.
    7. I wish I didn’t have to go back to work until Aug. 2022!
    8. I’m planning a baby shower for 1 of my good friends & it’s exciting!
    9. Crime has been crazy in Georgia! A 5 months pregnant woman was stabbed in the back while she was walking through a trail with her 3 year old son! She had to deliver the baby early by having a c-section! Just horrible! I feel so bad for her! Be safe out there ladies!
    10. I started feeling flutters from Baby B at 12 weeks☺️
  • @mommyb31 I am the same with exercise this time around.   It's bad.   Also, the world is a scary place right now :(
  • bkjadebkjade member
@mommyb31 - omg I’m so ready for 🍉 everything 😋 and same on #6. I feel so bad that I struggle to keep up with my 5 year-old. I keep oscillating between knowing it’s not permanent and that rest is self care and feeling incredibly guilty. On days I take her to go do things I’m so completely zapped when I get home 😭
  • rgn12rgn12 member
@mommyb31 yesss same here with the exercise. I kept saying as soon as my nausea subsided I would start walking or something… oops 🙈🤣
  • *lurking* Pretty sure I have had rhogam in both, and I only say that because I feel like I vaguely remember getting one of the last ones in the glute.  I think mostly mine have been in the arm.  That is weird that it might be a regional thing?  I am not located in the South, either.
  • @mommyb31 @scaredunprepared @rgn12 On same page ladies...  I have now officially said that tomorrow is 13 weeks and I will do a little routine. There is a page in one of my preg books with lifting a small weight... I may start there and some light yoga.   The positive is I have been walking quite a bit..but much slower than I usually do and I know I have read to get your heartbeat up is also important but usually once I start walking...  I only have one pace which is the enjoy the view and not in a rush....  which is so weird cause usually I can't stand walking slow...

Not sure if I am supposed to/allowed to share a pic of a book?  Copyright issues? But it is just one of the 500 pages in the whole book so can't be that bad.  Plus definitely can find a billion other options that are similar online.
