Any new symptoms? Baby kicks! I’ve had lots of “hmm was that?” moments but this afternoon during lunch I got my first definite kick! And I’ve felt movement for awhile since lunch. Both this mornings questionable somersault and this afternoon’s definite kick was while I was drinking tea so baby is definitely British 🇬🇧😂

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? AS on the 25th

What are you most looking forward to/most nervous about with this pregnancy? Sooo excited to find out the sex at our reveal party!

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?

GTKY: Where is the most relaxing place you’ve ever been? Definitely on our honeymoon to the Domenican Republic - we stayed at a premium all inclusive resort. Think sitting on a bed on the beach while someone brings you cocktails 😍 we also had a swim up room with a swim up bar in the same pool so we never even had to leave the water. It was incredible! AND we were lucky enough to win a couples massage so by far the most relaxing time of my life

Any new symptoms? Just more frequent headaches. Today I got a break after a 2 day headache, so it was nice to work out and feel "normal"

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Last week.....it was pretty basic, going over 1st trimester screenings and a fetal doppler. AS in 3 weeks with the MFM docs though!

What are you most looking forward to/most nervous about with this pregnancy? Everything still. I just had my doppler at the doctor and it was 156 so normal. Then today I listened at home and my husband was like "that sounds faster than it has been." I use an old vascular doppler I had from my wound care days so it doesnt tell you the heart rate. I told him it was fine, but now of course Im worried.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? I may have asked this before (pregnancy brain is real ya'll) When did your bump start to show? If you have a short waist did you show sooner? I feel like Im showing so much already at 15 weeks and its my first! All my friends told me with their first they didnt show until after 20 weeks. Im already in maternity pants! I do have a very short waist, like literally 1/4 inch of room between my ribs and hip bones.

GTKY: Where is the most relaxing place you’ve ever been?

Maui. Ive been about 4-5 times, the last time on our honeymoon and everytime I go its instance peace.

Any new symptoms? Round ligament pain, uncomfortable during sleep

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Had one yesterday, was all fine, heard the babies heartbeat and had some bloods taken.

What are you most looking forward to/most nervous about with this pregnancy? Now I'm less sick I kinda wanna meet this little one already. Intrigued to see what see looks like!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? How do you not get utterly overwhelmed by baby registry stuff. I have no idea what to put on their and then there are so many options for each item. I'm like argh  :s

GTKY: Where is the most relaxing place you’ve ever been? Oof, tough one. Mauritius was gorgeous, as was St Lucia. I'm with @jackie_dunny as I love an all inclusive luxury resort and people serving me cocktails and a spa to have a massage at. Bliss. Going to Hawaii (Oahu) next week and cannot wait! First holiday in forever!
  • @chartput I don't remember exactly when I started showing with my first but I was 20 weeks at Halloween and was definitely showing by then. I remember being annoyed because my mom always talked about how she hardly showed at all with me, barely even looking pregnant by the time I was born. I think the shape/size of your torso makes a difference, the size of your baby makes a difference, where your baby is situated makes a difference, how much amniotic fluid you have makes a difference, and probably other factors.

@jenharvey84 It's DEFINITELY overwhelming. And every mom you know will have differing and strong opinions about things they couldn't live without and things that they ended up never using at all. There are few things your baby absolutely needs right away: a carseat for safe transport, a place for safe sleeping, blanket/clothes for keeping warm. I'd focus on those as they really are the most important. You can always ask here if there are certain items you're deciding between and maybe the STM+s can give you pros and cons of those options so you can make a decision based on your parenting style and lifestyle.
  • Thank you @mayoduck - I've been looking at car seats and strollers (or what I call prams) and there are just SO MANY. I've been reading the product reviews and I think I am of the opinion that an infant car seat is good because you can leave the baby in it when doing things e.g. shopping and they are lighter to carry around. Strollers though, I am like WTF! What constitutes as good? I feel like I am buying a car. Also, for sleeping, I am thinking of renting a Snoo for the first few months as a friend recommended it to me.

So far I've put one tutu on my registry. Priorities. :D

    Sorry rambles!
  • @chartput: baby’s heartbeat is fine; husbands typically say things without thinking first and he has no idea what he’s talking about 😂 Also, I think I actually was a little bigger with my first pregnancy at week 20 than I am now? All pregnancies are different 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • @jenharvey84 Sounds like you're off to a great start! There ARE a ton of options for carseats and strollers/prams. We probably have a Product Spotlight thread for those coming up that will hopefully help narrow down some options.
  • @jenharvey84 I was getting really overwhelmed by it all as well but then I found a little list and I’ve decided I’m just going to look at one thing at a time, make a decision (or at least have an idea/understanding) and then next week or in the next few days I move on to the next thing

here are the product spotlights for car seats and prams. If there was anything else you were wondering about, just have a little look at the part where it says “previous product spotlights” or something like that and it’ll have a list of everything in order that we have discussed or will discuss. Don’t click the links in that bit though because it’s for July’s board so it won’t take you to ours lol I don’t know how to do that

  • @jenharvey84 One thing I can say, definitively, is get an infant car seat that clicks in and out of the car. I went the economical route with Arlo and got a convertible seat from the get-go; huge mistake. This time, I got Sadie a Chicco Fit2, which she’ll be able to use longer than traditional infant seats (2 years or 35lbs). Very excited about this!!!
