I love colored Christmas lights- they are just more fun than the white/ white and blue ones. MH will not cave he thinks it’s tacky but I’d have festive Christmas lights up all year if I could

My ILs have this same argument - my FIL likes colored lights and my MIL only likes white lights, so for the past 40+ years they've had both on their Christmas tree every year, lol. Just this last year, my MIL began putting a second Christmas tree in their upstairs guest room (in the window above the living room window where the main Christmas tree is) and that tree only has white lights.
I love colored Christmas lights! I am definitely that ridiculous person who has slowly been adding trees to our house at the holidays, ha. Our main Christmas tree has blue lights only, which I also really love. We have another little tree that has white lights only. This year, I think we need a new main tree, and I'm going to move the current big tree to the front room & get colored lights for it so that it can be see from the front of the house/street. I'm not 100% sure when I became a person that wants multiple trees to decorate, but I am, and I am not apologizing for it, and MH just laughs and lets me do as I please as long as he doesn't have to help decorate them. He loves a tree, but decorating them is one of his least favorite things to do at holiday time, which I find amusing for some reason.
Also, being from NM, I hang red and green chile pepper lights all over the house at the holidays.
When I lived in TX, they would wrap the tree trunks in white lights! I thought it was the weirdest thing at first, but it kind of grew on me, and now I wonder why people don't do that everywhere!??? I bet it eats up a tonne of lights tho lol
@BusinessWife Yep - every year I add another tree / bush to the white lights wrap situation in our yard here in TX, ha! We did luminarias in NM, which I miss, but it's way too wet/windy here for that in winter.

*lurker* I’ve seen this a few places in the NW. It’s so gorgeous!
