R/R: Sorry for completely ghosting yesterday. Interviews went well. We met with 6 candidates and are seeing 3 back for a teaching demo.
In personal news, I’m expecting a phone call from my doctor any day with not great news. I had blood work done on Monday and was looking through my patient portal last night. It looks like I’m either pre-diabetic or may actually have type 2 diabetes. It obviously hasn’t been officially diagnosed yet but my HBA1C was a 7 and that’s in the diabetes range. The good news is that I’ve been getting back into exercising regularly and will be modifying my diet going forward so I don’t see why I can’t manage my glucose levels back below that threshold. Just another fun part of PCOS (more than half of women with PCOS develop type 2 diabetes by age 40 according to the CDC).
CS/Q:
@gingermama29 question - when you went on birth control pills recently, did you take them continuously or did you do a withdrawal bleed with each pack? I have to take them until my hysteroscopy which may not be until 8/3 so I’m just wondering if it’s going to be awful. I only ever kept taking them to skip a period once when I was on them before TTC and I remember feeling really crappy. Also, I’m sorry about the not great news and I hope he calls you soon so that you at least know his thoughts about it.
@gingermama29 sorry to hear that. I almost hate the patient portal. I recently had blood work and googled every out of range result. My doctor wasn't even concerned with half of them (except my cholesterol, which runs in my family). Hope you get it all sorted out.

R/R: I have had a dull headache since yesterday. I get migraines and this definitely isn't one... yet. But I am trying not to take ibuprofen for it. It's like, my headaches will not go away without it. It is rough. I doused myself with peppermint oil on the back of my neck this morning.
CS/Q: Had a bit of a temp spike today so that is good.

R/R: I used the Mira wand and THEN realized I forgot to charge the Mira analyzer and it was totally dead. 🤬 So now I’m holding out on a trip to the bathroom again but my timing will definitely be off. Im not sure if I Od yesterday, today, or maybe neither? 🤷♀️ So I’ll give it a couple more days before heading to the TWW.
CS/Q: nope, just HIO since I’m real fuzzy on O
@BusinessWife I replied in the other thread but Italy is just amazing. I hope you have the best time if you are able to go!
@gingermama29 Sorry to hear that! Hopefully you'll get some positive news and lifestyle adjustments will do the trick.

WAYDTGKU: OPKs
R/R: I have had issues with my gums for several years. I had a gum graft (who even knew that was a thing) a few years back and I've been convinced that I am going to need it redone. We moved two years ago across state and I finally got up the nerve to set up a consultation with a periodontist and the appt was yesterday. Bad news was I had a panic attack in the chair and they had to let my husband come in to sit with me (so embarrassing). The good news is (for now) he did a quick evaluation and didn't see any concerns for the time being and doesn't need to see me back for 6 months. Hallelujah!!
CS/Q: Got my OPKs in the mail but nothing to see here yet...
@gardenvariety88 Oof, I would not hold the panic attack against you one bit. So glad the eval went well afterall! Phew!!!

R/R: Rant - AF reared her ugly head yesterday, the day after I got my second dose of the COVID vax, so it was a double-whammy of an evening. I wound up going to bed at 8pm, freezing my ass off. I wore a hoodie and socks, which I never do. I feel much better today, though.
Rave - I got a really good "atta boy" from my boss yesterday on a training that I started for our entire office, which felt really good. Especially because it's something I'm passionate about, which encourages me to keep it going. I love it when stuff works out like that.
CS/Q: So, I just bought the PreMom BBT thermometer and test strips. Any tips/tricks? I've basically just been using my Walgreens BBT thermometer and Amazon cheapies + CBAD OPKs, then entering everything into FF, so having another app seems a little...redundant.

R/R: Rave: We went to my parents for dinner Monday and I hugged my mom for the forst time in over a year because Monday marked 2 weeks since my 2nd shot (mom's been vaccinated since January). There were tears. Went over again yesterday and spent all day teaching her how to sew and did a Bob Ross paint night with her and my sisters. Also got to hug my sister for the firat time in over a year. It was a fantastic two days. Now I just have to get through 3 final exams tomorrow and I'm good.
Rant I'm putting in a spoiler because I'm feeling very pity party-y but I know 6 cycles is not that long to be trying so I'm putting it behind a TW just to be safe.
Also I'm terrified healthwise, I have my physical next week and I have to schedule bloodwork for it, and my gyn wanted me to get some insulin related things checked at the same time because PCOS, and given I'm considered morbidly obese and I know I havent been good, my gyn wanted me to lose 50lbs by now and I'm actually heavier than when I saw her. And I'm terrified because I'm basically certain the bloodwork is going to come back that I have diabetes. The weight stuff is a while nother rabbit hole, but I'm scared that my health is nowhere near where it should be and that my poor nutrition choices are going to negatively affect my ability to get pregnant.
I know 6 cycles is basically nothing, and I feel a bit bad complaining when I know there's many people here who've had much longer, much tougher journeys. I'm just very in my head tonight and needed to brain dump somewhere and I felt like this was the safest place to do so.
CS/Q: not bothering, 99% sure ovulation snuck by with no symptoms about 10 days earlier than expected so I'm just hanging here, expecting my period this weekend. If it doesn't come then I have no idea what my body is doing.
@gingermama29 I mentioned it in my spoiler but I have to get bloodwork done this week and I'm worried I'm going to be in the diabetes range too. Fingers crossed you can get it back down with diet and exercise!
@ReadyForaB That's always fun, trying to figure out headaxhe vs migraine. I have a whole mental tier list for what can go med free, what needs excedrin, what needs the bug guns, etc. I hope yours feels better by now.
@rachelredhead the one downfall of technology, remembering to charge it. Or remembering to use it at all, which I didn't until I was already upright this morning lol.
@gardenvariety88 sorry about the panic attack but yay on the clean bill of gum health!
@babyodo I use the easy@home opks and just use thebPremom app to store and interpret the strips. I enter everything in FF but I like being able to have the photo lineup in premom. I just enter my cycle start date in there so it's on track cdwise. You might have a few times, especially if the test line is light, where the app registers a 0 reading even though there's a clear line. I just take a few pictures bouncing between auto and manual, and flash/no flash until it registers the line.
Forgive me if this is out of place, and just my two cents, so take that fwiw <3
<div class=" Spoiler">One of the big shifts that helped me start to get the ball rolling once upon a time when I realized I had X amount of weight to lose, and at the time, I knew I was making choices that were maybe not the greatest... :/
...What helped me start to turn the tide was just making one manageable non-scale related goal that I felt like I could stick to. I would do my best to focus only on that one thing, and making that a habit for the next two weeks. And if it was an easy enough and achievable goal, then I was able to do that, and it felt great! Then I would commit to the next tiny little positive change, just for two weeks, and it would start to snowball. So like, I think most people can take a broad look at their habits or diet and say, uhm, yeah, that's probably not the healthiest choice lol and start with the really obvious ones. Also, focusing on adding something rather than taking away. So let's say if I have a habit of getting a bag of chips and eating it on my drive home from work, maybe I tweak that habit by... bringing a PORTION of chips from home to snack on, instead of the whole bag. Or carrot sticks! lol or even switching to gum. But I make the substitute as realistic as possibly, knowing myself, to try and set myself up for success. Or if I know I need to be drinking more water, possibly less coffee, adding just a small glass of water to my morning routine before the coffee? If I am horrible at taking vitamins and never remember, just committing to making that time to take ONE MULTI would be better than trying to all of a sudden start taking a fistful three times a day. lol Another good tip is to attach one new habit to an existing habit, like keeping the vitamins next to my toothbrush so I take it and then brush my teeth. Boom. I have no idea what your day-to-day lifestyle is like, or where you think you might see some EASY PEASY room for improvement. But that mindset really helped me when I needed it. I'm super fat again now lol but that's another story. Believe me, I probably need to try and take my own advice here as well. lol I have also heard good things about noom, too which is an ap that's supposed to help you build better habits. But I think ultimately that's a healthier way to think about it, especially in the beginning, than worrying about the scale. The scale will take care of itself :) There is a whole healthy habits thread, idk if you're ever on there. But it's not just about crazy over the top fitness goals. It can be super simple.</div>
