Any new symptoms? all my old symptoms have lessened a little the past few days. so i've tried to work out more. we'll see how long it lasts.

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? May 6th is first OB appt.

What are you most looking forward to/most nervous about with this pregnancy? We pgs tested our embryo, so after our first OB appt, if everything is still progressing well, we are planning on finding out the sex with our families. I'm looking forward to that. DH and I have been trying to nail down baby names so we can announce when we find out the sex.

TV! I've been vegging out too much this pregnancy from the exhaustion. I used to walk every day around our property because we live on 3 acres on a big river, but i've found it hard to get the motivation. Now that I'm feeling less fatigued, I need to start again.

Any new symptoms? Dizziness, backache, and quickly passing headaches are the new ones taking the lead

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Had our first scan on Monday and it was incredible to see little bean wriggling around. I know it’s not fully true but I feel like I got the eensiest weensiest little glimpse at a “personality” and it just makes me smile thinking about it

What are you most looking forward to/most nervous about with this pregnancy? The thing I’m looking forward to next so telling our group of friends! That won’t be for a few more weeks yet though

Questions for FTM, or STM+? When did you start to gain energy back? I know they say second trimester but seeing as I’m only a few days away and I’m still so tired (and the dizziness is making me weak in other ways) I just don’t see that happening

GTKY: what takes up too much of your time? Sleep. I’m that weirdo that wishes humans didn’t need to sleep. Don’t get me wrong, when I’m tired there’s nothing better than snuggling into bed and dozing off. I just wish it was optional instead of mandatory for living lol

Any new symptoms? The bloating! The cramps!

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Had my first OBGYN today and it went well, everything seems okay and was good to see the bean again even on her small little monitor. I'd finally put on a few lbs after my horrendous month of sickness!

What are you most looking forward to/most nervous about with this pregnancy? Birth. Absolutely terrified.

@jenharvey84 *lurking STM* I want to say from someone who was also absolutely terrified of birth as well with my first,  it honestly was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.  It wasn't GREAT lol but it was very manageable.  It is like 90% mental. I highly recommend researching hypnobirth stuff or just relaxation and visualization stuff because that helped more than anything. Also positions to open things up, it helps to feel like you are "doing something". If you plan on drugs or not the mental prep is the most important part.  Your body really knows what its doing and honestly does most of the work whether you are mentally focusing on it or not 😆 so just staying as calm as possible is the best option ❤❤

@jackie_dunny I didn't really notice more energy until closer to 16 weeks with DS.
  • Thank you @artsiefartsie - I've got a way to go yet lol but that doesn't mean the fear isn't already lingering! This info is super helpful. I'll have a look to see what's out there in terms of hypnobirthing support. I'm also looking into pre natal yoga communities, I would hope that includes some kind of breath work! I'll do my best to stay calm 😂
  • Agreed @jenharvey84, the idea of birth is terrifying to me as well.  I hope can keep my shit together!
  • @gingerale87 I can barely keep my shit together in real life  :D
  • @jenharvey84 It's totally normal to be scared of labor and delivery. I mean... the stories we hear and what they show in the movies tend to be very stressful (and also not representative of most births). I'm looking into hiring a doula because I NEED someone who is looking out for me, not just from a physical perspective (which what the doctors are good at) but from an emotional support perspective as well. Not cheap, but may be worth looking into. Alternatively, you may also be able to find a doula/birth companion program associated with a local university where they look to partner students training to be doulas with birthing mothers. They obviously don't have the experience of a professional doula and likely don't offer the full array of services, but also tend to be free.
