We took our kids on a huge Disney World trip in December of 2019 and it was magical. Better than all the solo more exotic vacations we have done because everyone was so happy the entire time.
This was harder to decide on than I thought (we used to love traveling). I'm going with our last eurotrip, we did 2 weeks and made it a family trip with my sister and her family. We did Paris together for 5 days, Switzerland with just my husband (while they went to Poland) for 4 days, and then Czech Republic for 6 days.
It was such a nice combo of family and couple time.

We did a big Disney World trip in May 2019. Magical is definitely the right word to describe Disney World with kids. ❤️
Ooh, I like this question! My favorite trip was a road trip with my husband from Maryland to Atlanta, Georgia and back. The original reason for the trip was because I've been wanting to see the Atlanta Aquarium and its whale sharks for *years* so I finally made it a priority. There wasn't a whole lot else DH and I were interested in seeing in Atlanta so we opted to road trip there and make other stops along the way rather than fly there. Other stops included Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, VA; Carolina Raptor Center and Treehouse Vineyards in Charlotte, NC (it was my birthday and we spent the night IN a treehouse! So cool.) on the way down and Biltmore Estate & Winery in Asheville, NC; Applewood Inn & Llama Trekking in Lexington, VA and Natural Bridge State Park in Natural Bridge, VA on the way back. We actually ended up having to condense our trip, cutting out an extra day in Asheville and a stop at Jefferson's Monticello so that we could make it back home in time for a family funeral, but it was still one of my favorite vacations.
I’ve been really lucky and fortunate to have gone on some amazing vacations so it’s hard to pick just one as my favorite but I’m going to go with when I took the plunge and travelled around Europe by myself (with a travel group and guide but I didn’t know anybody prior to going) for 5 weeks and got to go to 11 countries and see some incredible sights and experience wonderful things!
I agree it's hard to pick a favorite, but maybe the trip my husband and I took to Egypt in 2009. It was my first time traveling internationally and I had been interested in ancient Egypt for years (since seeing the Mummy '90s movie! haha). It was a little over 3 weeks and we got to see so much cool stuff and it was just such a different place to get to see. It wasn't all comfortable but it was very memorable.
Wow, you all have been on some amazing vacations!! I haven't been able to do anything super big but some of my favorite are the weekend camping trips that DH and I plan for around Alaska. It's always so hard to get out and enjoy your state when you work so I like being able to find a few extra days to head in a different direction and go farther into the woods.
Jeff and I took a trip to Europe when we were living together, before getting married. We started in Trieste, Italy, then moved on to Venice and Milan, hopped over to Paris, France, and then to Rome before heading home. Poor Jeff got sick in Paris on the day we were traveling to Rome, and I mean, HE WAS SICK. We felt so bad traveling on the airplane and then subway, because he was visibly feverish. Anyway, we finally got to our AirBNB and I raced out to a pharmacy to try and get some meds for his stomach. I tried to use words I thought the pharmacist would understand because I don't speak Italian, and then proceeded to pantomime symptoms of diarrhea, and then the woman said, "diarrhea?" and I was just like...THAT'S THE WORD YOU KNOW AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE ALREADY SAID?! Easily our most memorable story of the trip and Jeff wasn't even there. He loves to tell people about my American shame story
@sliztee haha, omg that diarrhea story! For half of our honeymoon we did a mediterranean cruise and my poor husband managed to knock half of a front tooth off one night, so that's how we spent the Naples day at the dentist
Gosh so hard to pick but maybe the best vacation I ever took was traveling through Vietnam for a few weeks! I went from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city and didn’t have any specific schedule or itinerary - so I’d take whichever bus, train and motorcycle was available and made my way south. I stopped and got off when I was tired of traveling in some great fishing towns, stumbled upon old ruins and temples and got to explore as though I lived there. Did one day in a super touristy spot but moved on quickly from there. Everyone was so kind and generous and I think worried about me traveling alone so they took SUCH great care of me. Even with some language barriers esp in the smaller towns, we made it work. Gave me contacts for the next towns “in case I decided to stop” and insisted on feeding me. It was wonderful. Halfway through the trip my boyfriend at the time joined me and he was very cool about the let’s see where this next turn takes us mentality. And the food was INCREDIBLE! Best street food I’ve ever had. Pho and banh mi ALL the time. It’s a beautiful country. Definitely a place I’d want to go back to. Sigh, missing those carefree travel days! Feels like lifetimes ago!
