Re: Product spotlight: diapers / diaper bags w/o 4/12
Cost (either amount, or just $, $$, $$$, etc.): $175
What you like about it: backpack so hands-free! Holds a lot, dirt wipes away easily and it doesn't looks super dowdy.
What you don't like about it, if anything: the straps aren't the most comfy if you wear it for looooong periods of time (but normally I toss it in the stroller)
Is there a [diaper/accessory] you don't have but are considering? Why?: Additional thoughts on [diaper/accessory]:
@vampirina, your link isn't working for me, but I think that's the exact bag I have my eye on. Does it come in full size and mini? If so, which size do you use?
Also another vote for a backpack style diaper bag, although we haven’t left the house much since Covid so I’ll need to reevaluate what we need to bring when we go out. We also have emergency kits in our cars with spare clothes, wipes, diapers, and a few other things. Need to update those too - I’m sure the sizes are outdated! 🤣
We also have the Skip Hop Changing Pad which we keep in the diaper bag and really like. When we’re going somewhere quick, I’ve just put that in my purse (with diapers and wipes stored in it) and been good to go! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077KDVDR7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_9D0MD3V9PTTAWTBNZQ3W

I can't figure out how to get rid of bullets
Best diapers: Hello Bello auto delivery!! They started their company when my DD was just a few weeks old and like every night 2-4 AM I was on the internet buying truly ridiculous things. I was probably in their first 50 customers, and it's the one middle of the night purchase I do not regret (I literally think I spent $3-5K on amazon in the first 4 months she was alive. I've refused to go back and add it all up). They're a good price and you can usually get BOGO for your first set, the diapers are v soft (softer than some other natural brands), v cute designs, most designs have a pee indicator if you're into that, the sizing is great, they didn't leak on my string bean baby (you will find dift diapers work for dift baby body sizes), and I never had to worry about running out and going to the store last minute for more diapers. They also have bath products that smell pretty good (we've used their baby shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and I think bubble bath?). High recommend.
Lastly, my formula diaper bag hack. DD started on formula due to some pretty severe allergies (that she's grown out of!) around 5 months. Medela brand storage bottles (for pumping but I put the formula powder into them) fit perfectly into Phillips Avent Bottles (small size storage tubes in the small bottles; tall size in the tall bottles). It was SUCH a diaper bag lifesaver. When DD needed a bottle I just had to find the bottle, pour in the pre-measured formula, add water, shake it up, voila. :chefs kiss: This was my one true mom hack genius moment.
I had 3 diaper bags with DS - a giant one from some multi-level marketing brand that my mom got me, a medium purse-looking one, and a small Mickey Mouse one that DH picked out. We used the giant one constantly, the Mickey one was junk and the zipper broke almost immediately, and the purse one was fine. Moving stuff between bags is annoying.
For diapers, if you're thinking about doing cloth, my advice is DO IT! It didn't work with my life with DS, but I've only heard good things about it from people who've done it. I'm thinking about doing it with this baby.
Disposable diapers - Costco diapers are good for chubby babies, but will leak on skinny babies.
