@mommaduck2490 that’s so exciting about your upcoming appt! FX it goes smoothly!

    How was your weekend?
I was working all weekend, so not the greatest. But I have this weekend off, so I am excited to have some rest and relaxation!

What are you looking forward to and/or dreading this week? I have a pretty busy schedule this week, but it’s not terrible. Hubby is getting his vaccine today, so hopefully he won’t have any bad reactions. I’m still on the fence, since I didn’t get it before pregnancy. Hopefully my OB will help me decide.

Symptom check: Anything new you're experiencing and/or anything starting to subside? I have had intermittent nausea;  eating, tums, and staying hydrated helps so far. My worst symptom has probably been the intense bloating. I’ve also gained 3lbs and I am hoping that is just water weight/bloat. I am kind of embarrassed for when I have my appt, because I’ve gained 13lbs total since my last OB appt. I had lost 10lbs (below pre-preg) when breastfeeding, and when I stopped it almost immediately came back. Unfortunately!! It was nice while it lasted hahaha!

@srprins1987 oops I missed you, I think we were posting around the same time! That’s awesome that you didn’t have a lot of nausea your first two go-arounds! I’m secretly hoping for that this time for me, because I am working so much more than I was when I was pregnant the first time. I was so sick, but luckily my work was incredibly light. Kind of grateful to be WFH though during this unpredictable time, sometimes the nausea comes out of nowhere!
  • @mommaduck2490: good luck on the betas! And I totally need to get a new pregnancy pillow this time around. I was so skeptical last time and then realized they are the greatest things ever in third tri.

@sprins1987: congrats on telling family! I totally feel you on wanting the support system. That was my reason for telling some family and close friends early. And yay for being fully vaccinated! My second dose is 2 weeks from today. And so jealous you go to the ob tomorrow. A week and a half more for me.

@rgn12 ugh sorry you had to work all weekend. No fun. I’m in a similar boat re: weight—I’m about 10 pounds more than I was a year ago.  I think a lot of us have gained weight in the last year, so don’t feel too bad!

How was your weekend? I had a bit of a freak out on Saturday. We have been having some issues with the house and even more issues getting contractors to fix things. Like honestly I just want to pay someone money and have things fixed without complications or having them take advantage of me. Example: part of our old fence fell down in a windstorm last fall and we scheduled to have it fixed a week and a half ago (there was seriously a four month wait but I was like whatever I don’t want to deal with getting a new quote). We asked them to replace the part that fell down and to tear down the remaining 15 feet of old fence and rebuild it so it doesn’t happen again. They proceeded to tear the old part down and then said they couldn’t do the work because there are trees in the way. Then they want to charge US $450 for the delay. Like what? If you had told me you couldn’t replace it without tearing trees down I probably would have just left it! Anyway, I freaked out about how I hate our house and all of the problems it has and just want to move. Full meltdown. But for a number of reasons it doesn’t make sense to sell and move, so I felt sort of trapped. I know this is probably mostly pregnancy hormones making me more volatile but ugh. Not fun. I was feeling better on Sunday and we went to an outdoor picnic with one of my college friends who just had a baby in February, so that was fun. DD loved playing with their older daughter who is about 4.

What are you looking forward to and/or dreading this week? Feeling a little nauseous so dreading that. Also dreading dealing with the fencing company. Anyone want to deal with that for me? 😂

Symptom check: Anything new you're experiencing and/or anything starting to subside? So so tired. Last night I just collapsed after our park outing and this morning I’m continuing to feel exhausted. Also a teeny bit nauseous but it’s so slight I keep thinking maybe it’s in my head.

  • @srprins1987 YAY vaccine! Yay science!
I didn't have any morning sickness with my daughter either.. hoping I'll be lucky again this time!
  • How was your weekend? Pretty okay - nothing terribly special going on! I was really productive on Sunday and reorganized my daughter's room which took forever because ALL THE TOYS. She likes dolls, playmobil and barbies so there is soo much little little stuff that needs to be picked up and put away. I also did some work on my old dollhouse (refurbishing it for DD1 and hopefully DD2), but accidentally ordered 1/24th scale furniture kit which is completely useless since dollhouses are 1/12 scale (each inch on the miniature corresponds to 12 inches in the real world). I put some of it together anyway and DD used it to decorate the wooden castle set she got from Melissa/Doug.

What are you looking forward to and/or dreading this week? Ultrasound on Friday! Not sure if I would say I'm looking forward to it but I'm definitely thinking about it and incredibly nervous! FX!

Symptom check: Anything new you're experiencing and/or anything starting to subside? Nausea is getting progressively more prominent and I've had tons of episodes of food aversion over the last few days. Fatigued with the occasional headache. No more hot flashes right now but I think that's mostly because my body has gotten used to the progesterone levels.

  • Thanks for starting this @mommaduck2490, its nice to hear how everyone is doing!

How was your weekend? it was alright!  a little rainy and cool here in the midwest.

What are you looking forward to and/or dreading this week? tomorrow is my first scan at 5+6. I am very nervous and just hoping everything is measuring on track. my clinic is an hour each way, and no partners allowed. Its in the middle of the workday, so not worth my husband missing a few hours of work to just sit in the car. I really hope its good news. I'm not sure how much the ultrasound tech will tell me... my RE schedules zoom follow ups for a few hours after the scan to go over there results together.

Symptom check: Anything new you're experiencing and/or anything starting to subside? I think i was a little naueous this morning. I didn't sleep well last night though, was up for an hour with anxiety.  Cramping has been less the last 1.5 days, hopefully baby is all settled in.

  • @blueowl08 and @srprins1987- nice to know some others who are getting the vaccine early! My RE didn't want me to get it until heartbeat, but I'm hoping to get the first dose around 9/10 weeks, maybe sooner. I am getting more and more nervous about getting covid with these more contagious variants spreading.

  • @rpreston17 - awww, MIL had the itch for a new babe, apparently!! Good luck on your call tomorrow!! The eating is very relatable. I've gained more weight than I care to admit because I've just been eating non-stop. I've focused my efforts on hydrating myself instead of eating; we'll see how long that lasts.
  • @srprins1987 yay glad you were able to find a new OBGYN who had an opening and who (gasp) actually answered the phone!  And an appointment so soon...how lucky!

@mommaduck2490 glad your numbers are trending in the right direction.  Sorry about the progesterone, though.  So many hormones to juggle!

@rgn12 I am 30 lbs heavier than I was at the start of my last pregnancy.  I lost almost all of my baby weight, then gained it all back and then some between covid and anxiety!  I am just trying to be kind to myself and remind myself that as long as I move every day and make healthy choices this pregnancy, I will be doing the best I can :) Can't change how much we weighed when we conceived!  And stress certainly doesn't help anyone.

@blueowl08 I can totally relate to the house hating and freaking out.  Where we live is basically a swamp (ewww) and we are infested with mosquitoes.  We either need to spray 2x a month or never leave the house.  It's awful.  Plus, it's TINY.  I want to move so bad, but we just moved here 2 years ago and it's 5 mins from hubby's work, so we are kind of stuck, especially with the housing market being insane right now.

    How was your weekend?
Mostly relaxing. Got some gardening done, which was nice.

What are you looking forward to and/or dreading this week?
Looking forward to the zoo tomorrow with my sister and her 3 girls.  It will be chaos, but so much fun.

Symptom check: Anything new you're experiencing and/or anything starting to subside?
Slight nausea lately.  **possible TW I also started spotting, which I am hoping is the same as last pregnancy and not cause for alarm.  I am trying to be laid back about it this time and not go to the hospital 5675 times in my first trimester.  I have been poas daily just to make sure and they are still very dark positive, so FX.

@mommaduck2490- glad the number is rising!  Can I ask what the numbers were? Once it gets over 2000ish I believe it does start to rise slower and it’s ok!! Sorry for the supplements! Nice it’s a pill and not a shot or suppository. Glad they are watching your progesterone closely!

@rpreston17- an hour long call for family history seems excessive! Does family history even mean that much for pregnancy?!

@scaredunprepared- I’m sorry you had spotting! Never fun to see :( I had some light brown spotting last night too. Hoping it’s just old implantation blood and not an SCH like my last pregnancy. Perhaps you can be seen earlier due to this, just for reassurance?

@nz113- o no!! HG is brutal. I had moderately strong nausea last time but not HG. I can’t imagine. Are you on any meds? Diclegis allowed me to barely function but I almost needed Zofran

Oh no  HG is no joke. Can they give you anything to help? I know my sister ended up taking Zofran in both of her pregnancies.

    @scaredunprepared

Spotting is always difficult to see -- I had spotting from a few days before my positive test until 12 weeks with my daughter. Only have spotted once this time, but once again, they can't really find a reason.

  • @nz113 sending love your way, I can't imagine how difficult it must be.
  • How was your weekend? I mean, I got my bfp, so can't complain! ;)

What are you looking forward to and/or dreading this week? My husband just got a job offer halfway across the country, so, um, kinda freaking out here. This is his dream career that he went back to school for, so obviously I want to be supportive, but I also don't want to uproot our lives and go through a big move (at all, let alone while pregnant).
Also dreading Friday, just because daycare is closed and I have meetings all day!

Symptom check: Anything new you're experiencing and/or anything starting to subside? Nothing yet!
  • @nz113 Lots of love your way, lady!! Wrapping you up in hugs & support!!

@PYLWhammy AH! Congrats on the BFP just this weekend!! Love that!! So exciting!!

@JamieH2000 Last Wednesday evening it was 2497 & I went back Friday afternoon (not **quite 48 hours to the T, probably closer to 36-40 hours) & he said it was in the 4,000's. He didn't tell me the exact number, though. Oddly, (and it's only been 24 hours so placebo effect is real, I know) I'm feeling so much better already. I'd been experiencing overall cramping & bodily discomfort that I'm just not anymore. It's like my body was trying to supplement what wasn't happening, putting a strain on everything else & taking the pills it's been like "AHHH, we can relax now!"
  • Hi ladies

How was your weekend? Not bad! We are in full lockdown again so can't see anyone. It was nice outside though so we spent time in the yard. I'm jealous of everyone's access to get vaccines. I saw a meme comparing our government dealing with covid to how the "ministry of magic" dealt with Voldemorts return. It's so true. They don't know what they are doing.

What are you looking forward to and/or dreading this week? I had my first midwife appointment via a phone call that was nice and they are going to help me find a new clinic in my new town because it's super hard to get a doctor let alone an OB or midwife.

Symptom check: Anything new you're experiencing and/or anything starting to subside?
Still a bit nauseous-it comes and goes and my nipples are still sensitive. The gas and bloating is what is overtaking my life at the moment. Honestly though, I can't complain because these symptoms remind me little babe is in there.
  • @mommaduck2490- ok got it! yes when its that high, i think 63% increase in 2 days can be plenty sufficient!! and glad you are feeling better on the progesterone pills!!

@PYLwhammy- wow, that is a big decision! is the new location somewhere you guys would want to be long term? would it mean leaving family?

@kaitcrystalline- Sorry if I missed it, but it sounds like you are in Canada? i wish they would prioritize pregnant people for the vaccines since its higher risk!! i just talked to my RE and she said she would reco I get it sooner than later, so I'm hoping to see the heartbeat next week and then maybe get the vaccine around 8-9 weeks...

  • @JamieH2000 We wouldn't be leaving family since neither of us have any family here in Maryland - but I've been living here nearly 13 years now so it feels like home. Scary to pick up everything and move!

I hope you can hear the heartbeat next week!  <3
  • @JamieH2000 I am in Canada. I pre-registered for the Vaccine since they do lable pregnancy as high risk here but I suspect it still won't be another 4-6 weeks until my first shot and then my second shot won't be until 4 months after that as they want to vaccinate the whole country with the first dose before administering the second dose (similar to Britain). The science doesn't seem to support this plan but our government is saying it's okay so who knows.

@PYLWhammy DH and I are moving 19 hours away in the next month. He leaves in 2 weeks and then DS and I will follow once we have a house. We are moving away from everyone so it's definitely scary not having a support system with the new baby but I'm hoping that by December people will have their vaccines and possibly my mom can come to help out and travel easily.
  • @kaitcrystalline sounds like we're in a (somewhat) similar boat! Feel free to commiserate if you want :). It's scary indeed!
  • @JamieH2000 my OB pretty much said as long as it's not blood as heavy as a period, they will just wait to see me at 8 weeks 🤷‍♀️.  Just trying to remind myself everything was fine last time, so maybe this is just how my body reacts to pregnancy?

@mbradfo2 yup, I spotted for the first 12 weeks during my first pregnancy, too!  Weird.  I didn't at all initially with this one but of course I said something about it to my husband and started spotting the next day.  Just send positive vibes my way that this is just the same as last time.

@nz113 ugh so sorry you're experiencing HG.  One of my best friends suffered with it her entire first pregnancy, but her second was much better.  Fingers crossed yours improves, or at least doesn't last the entire duration of this pregnancy.  I don't know much about HG but it sounds awful :(
  • @scaredunprepared oof mosquitoes are the worst. I grew up in a similar type of mosquito swamp. And yes the housing market is absolutely bananas. It kind of scares me. How was the zoo?

@nz113 ugh I’m so sorry about the hg. It should be a crime for insurance to not cover reasonable meds but at least you can do a work around.

@PYLWhammy a cross country move while pregnant does sound daunting. I’m glad you are being supportive but just a reminder that it’s ok to dread it a little bit too :)

@kaitcrystalline sorry about the lockdown! Hopefully the vaccine rollout will speed up where you are — and hopefully one shot is enough for now. Also sorry to hear about a stressful move. I hope by December travel will be a lot easier. We live about 6 hours by car from our closest family and it can be hard but you can still make it work!

  • @blueowl08 the zoo was awesome!  Great weather and well behaved kids!
